Four days after helping the Giants win Super Bowl XLVI, wide receiver Victor Cruz said he ‘deserves’ a big raise before the 2012-13 season according to the Ralph Vacchiano and Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News.

“I think I was paid relative to where I came in this year, and I came in as a free agent so I don’t feel like I was underpaid,” Cruz said on PFT Live. “After my performance this year, I feel like I deserve to be paid more money at this point.”

Cruz, 25, an undrafted free agent, made just $450,000 this season, but emerged as one of the top receivers in the NFL with 82 catches for a franchise-record 1,536 yards.

He was a monster this year. i mean how many 5 yard passes did he take over 60 yards by breaking tackles. when he has theball in his hand he makes plays, and i love his fight for the ball. He'll go up and fight for it

Frankly...Holmes doesn't deserve Holmes money. Would you even consider linking Victor Cruz with the likes of Fitz, Megatron, or Andre Johnson? No. You wouldn't. Exactly.

Does he deserve more money than a minimum contract? Absolutely. But to pay him any more then 4mil a year MAX is absurd.

C'mon guys. By "Holmes money" SHJ probably meant the theoretical value of Holmes. Therefore, Cruz deserves to be paid like an effective slot receiver.
