There's a report from Jake Steinberg that LG/RG/RT Vlad Ducasse has been told that he will exclusively practice and compete for the right tackle position.

This is a good thing. The Jets couldn't figure out what to do with him so they had him practice LG, RG and RT. Now that they picked a spot for him, lets see if he can use the offseason and develop into something.

I am guessing that Vlad was one of the guys that thought the last playbook was too complicated. This is a make or break year for Ducasse, if he doesn't show something then cut him. But I'd be surprised if the Jets go into camp with just Hunter and Ducasse as their RTs.

Sanchez might want to start writing his will.

There are a few things I have realized about Mr. Jet over a few topics.

1) He is a racist. By constantly using race as a battling tool.
2) He is an extreme Liberal. If you are on either extreme you are probabaly more wrong than right.
3) He is one of those people who will never admit fault, error or defeat.
4)His life sucks and he takes it out on people who don't share in his views.

You guys are too quick to write someone off. He was drafted as a "project", then instead of learning one position, was shuffled between three... without the benefit of a training camp. Lets see how he does now that he's got one assignment and a few months to put it together.

He's a guard, not a tackle.

No faith he'll ever start there.

They are both revolving doors at tackle. The only position they should be competing for is practice squad.

I think that unfortunately you're right. Hunter is not good. I mean of course some plays he actually made his blocks, but our line broke down most often from the RT position.

Vlad I think could be OK, but he has to start taking this shit more seriously. And maybe with a new O Line coach he'll get a fire under his ass

I haven't completely written him off yet, but I wouldn't go into the season thinking hes the guy. He has to show something in training camp and preseason games. I don't think the Jets will go into the season with just Hunter and Vlad, they will bring someone in whether it be a FA or draft a rookie.

Yeah Im writing him off. When players who dont even make the teams in preseason puch Vlad back like he wieghs 50 pounds I write him off.

He has yet to show that he isnt one of the greatest Jets draft flops ever. Unless he has done total 1080 change Im not expecting anything from him. He makes Wayne Hunter seem like an all pro.

Maybe the fo has a plan...put Ducasse and Hunter in....get Sanchez destroyed...start other prospects and hope they luck into a backup that turns out to be great like Brady did for the Pats.

He just doesn't have the foot quickness to play tackle. He just continually gets beat. He could play guard tho where he can have some more help on the inside but at tackle your on an island more often then not. That's not who you want out there protecting your franchise QB.

Neither is Wayne Hunter.

You know, a lot of times you say shit on here that makes me wonder if you drink a gallon of paint for breakfast. Ducasse's problem is his TECHNIQUE. His "foot quickness" is actually what got him a 2nd round grade. He ran a 4.7 20 yard drill... considering that Clay Matthews ran a 4.2, I think Ducasse "foot quicknes" isn't an issue. Furthermore, if you look at the landscape of the NFL, most RTs aren't exactly circus bears. An RT is a behemoth who needs to stay in front of his guy. Ducasse has the size and the physical attributes, but his technique is shit. If we can somehow correct that, he'll be a solid starter.
