The Colts have terminated contracts of linebacker Brackett, tight end Dallas Clark, running back Joseph Addai and safety Melvin Bullitt according to Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star.

The Colts confirmed the terminated contracts --- and the release of quarterback Curtis Painter --- in a news release.

“These players all made tremendous contributions to the organization and will forever be members of the Colts family,” Colts owner Jim Irsay said in the release. “It’s always difficult to make these decisions, which the nature of the salary cap requires.

"Their legacies with the Colts will be forever remembered by the organization, fans and Indianapolis community. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”

Yea I have the same question. We Have Keller who is the same type of guy, younger, not as good but still, Clark would demand a big contract and we need a blocking TE, not another receiving tight end.

Clark wouldn't fit in with what Sparano wants out of a TE.

I'd take Melvin, but I'd be worried he'd just get hurt. No thanks on Clark. I like Addai a lot too but he gets hurt too much.

Seems even more strange to release Clark if they're intent on taking Andrew Luck number one given how Luck loved to use his TE Coby Fleener at Stanford.
