ganggreen2003 Icon : (15 February 2015 - 11:23 PM) When the hell will the JETS get it that Pace SUCKS
ganggreen2003 Icon : (15 February 2015 - 11:23 PM) Babin being brought back isn't a big deal but Pace really?
azjetfan Icon : (16 February 2015 - 12:43 AM) There is no guarantee either will be on the roster opening day. This gives the Jets the most options in FA and the draft. For once I would love to see Jet fans not jump before the need
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 February 2015 - 12:39 PM) I'd cut Pace, we easily can upgrade over him in FA
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 February 2015 - 12:40 PM) Babin I'd keep , he had more QB pressures in way less snaps than Pace. And is cheap.

Jetsfan0099 Icon : (20 February 2015 - 12:09 PM) Saw that the Bills are meeting with Spiller and may sign him before FA.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (20 February 2015 - 12:10 PM) if that happens, I think the Jets should go after Shane Vereen. Nice pass catching option out of the backfield, only 25.
Smedsthejet Icon : (20 February 2015 - 04:06 PM) Think Vereen would be a great option...I thought he was one of their best and most valuable performers during the playoffs and we need a back who can contribute in the passing game as well. Jets have been missing that piece since LT retired

Namath on Jets: 'I think it's just a publicity stunt' http://www.nfl.com/n...publicity-stunt

If the Jets are in the news, Joe Namath isn't far behind.

This has become the natural order of things. Broadway Joe is clean and sober and living the retired life in Florida. Commenting on the team he led to Super Bowl III glory appears to be his principle job at this point.

When word spread the Jets had traded for Tim Tebow, it was only a matter of time before the Jets' most famous quarterback chimed in.

"I'm just sorry that I can't agree with this situation. I think it's just a publicity stunt. I can't go with it. I think it's wrong," Namath told 1050 ESPN Radio on Wednesday. "I don't think they know what they're doing over there."

That last comment is one that could get him in trouble. The Jets have given Namath a lot of rope over the past year or so, but criticism like this likely won't be forgotten.

In other words, if the Jets are on "Hard Knocks" again (inevitable, by the way), don't expect to see Joe Willie and his popped collar paying another visit to camp.

It is somewhat of a PR stunt. No question about it. You don't add a guy like Tebow to the rotation when you've extended and put the keys in Sanchez hands. It's just so bad on so many different levels.

Who give a sh*t about Joe Namath, Kris Jenkins and all of the old tools who have no relationship to the Jets besides being an ex player.
“We know we’re better than you, we don’t give a f*ck if you know it or not, we don’t give a sh*t if you give us your best game, we’re gonna give you our best game and we’re gonna beat the f*ck outta ya. How’s that?”

It's no stunt. We're running a team and we happen to bring in a player that helps us fascilitate a certain aspect of our offense.

They really need to cancel these weekly calls to the michael kay show for him, cause I have a feeling Rex will fire back one day lol. Maybe Joe should hit the bottle again, so he could "care less about the team struggling"

Why? Why shouldn't he be able to say what he wants, where he wants to? When he says positive things about the Jets I don't see any of you guys making posts saying Joe needs to shut up and make jokes about his alcoholism then. It's only when he says something negative do I see these posts. He can say whatever he wants whether it's on the radio or Twitter or Facebook. He has every right to express his opinion like we do regardless of the fact that he is an ex-player.

Everytime the Jets win and play well he gives the team nothing but praise.

There are a few things I have realized about Mr. Jet over a few topics.

1) He is a racist. By constantly using race as a battling tool.
2) He is an extreme Liberal. If you are on either extreme you are probabaly more wrong than right.
3) He is one of those people who will never admit fault, error or defeat.
4)His life sucks and he takes it out on people who don't share in his views.

The truth hurts.

How is somebody "washed-up" when they're not an active player anymore (and haven't been one in over 30 years)? That made absolutely no sense. Maybe if this was still 1976 it would've, but not today.

Do you agree with Cromartie saying stupid sh*t on twitter also, then? The media writes enough bad crap about us, we don't need Namath saying bad things publicly about the team. Was that quote really necessary from him? Keep your mouth shut, don't bring any more negativity on this team, let other haters do that.

Just like most of our opinions differ so does Namath's. When it comes to most stuff he comes off like a buffoon but when it comes to the quarterback position I tend to listen. Because he did play the position at the highest level.

Do I agree with the stupid shit Cromartie says on twitter, no. Do I believe he should be able to say stupid shit wherever he wants, yes. Just like everybody else. I'm not a fan of athletes and celebrities having Twitter accounts, but that's their choice and their right. If they say something stupid then that's on them. Think before you open your mouth and think before you hit the post button. It's not that hard.

It's you guys who are all upset about Namath's comments that are the ones putting stock into them. So what if the media writes bad things about the Jets? So what if Joe Namath or Cromartie or you or I say bad things about the Jets? The Jets aren't above criticism from anybody. Namath has every right to express his opinion (good or bad) like any other fan does. The only reason the media and you guys bitching about Namath pay more attention to what he says is because of what he used to do for a living (pro football player). The only reason Cromartie has thousands or millions of followers (I don't have a Twitter account so I don't know the exact number) is because of what he does for a living. Because he's famous that's why people pay attention. But if Namath was cashier at the Shell station down the street but also went by the alias "Jetsguy42" on NYJetsFan.com and said what he said on here, you wouldn't put as much stock in his comments as you do now.

Namath or any other ex-player or current player can say whatever they want in any venue they want, just like we non-famous can. This is America last time I checked. There is no rule that says only people who've never played in the NFL can speak negatively about the front office moves a franchise makes.

And like I said when Namath says positive things about the Jets I don't see you guys telling him to shut up and calling him washed up and bringing up his alcoholism then. Either he can't say anything positive or negative about the Jets at all or he (like everybody else) can say whatever he wants about the Jets wherever he wants. Regardless of what he used to do for a living.
