Jets are doing jets related things also... THE KNICKS.
mgjetman Icon : (Yesterday, 01:37 PM) What a way to make sporrts center already, Mark......
mgjetman Icon : (Yesterday, 01:39 PM) Sanch owns the #1 blooper of all time with that butt fumble also and to make matters worse he threw it right to a friggin Pat...
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:53 PM) buttfumble on thanksgiving was the low point of his career
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:55 PM) Teammates talking shut about Sanchez
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:11 PM) In case you haven't heard, because why would anyone report on the Giants, Nicks is also holding out
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:11 PM) That makes both Cruz and Nicks.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:11 PM) But who cares, Sanchez threw 3 "interceptions"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:59 PM) ?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:59 PM) why would we give a f*** about the Giants?
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 03:04 PM) gg03 jimmies are riled
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 03:21 PM) You're not in NY. All the backpages are focused on Sanchez
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 03:21 PM) None of the NY media even mention Cruz or Nicks
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:40 PM) nicks isn't holding out. he's injured still and taking it easy. cruz is holding out. why it isn't a big ordeal IDK. it would be for us
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:02 PM) maybe because theyre not that far off.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:02 PM) Cruz wants to return back, they'll figure it out.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:41 PM) 3 mil a year off or 30% less then cruz wants. tahst alot of money to be off
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:41 PM) cruz doens't want to leave NY cause teh extra money he'll get in endorsements plus he knows taht they can RFA him this year and then Franchise next year so he might not be able to get a LTD for 3 years
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 05:21 PM) Clemens11/Tebow15 (soon to be Smith7) said if we had just drafted Crabtree and Nicks and kept Clemens, we'd be good.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) No, he can't be Smith7
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) his name is reserved for garbage QBs, we don't want Geno to be bad
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) He can be McElroy14
extmenace Icon : (Yesterday, 06:51 PM) we're taking bridgewater next year with the number 1 pick and treating geno like a jimmy clausen.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:53 PM) What makes Bridgewater better than Geno?
HurricaneJet32 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:12 PM) everything
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:56 PM) ^
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:16 PM) college players always get hyped up before the draft process, just wondering what makes him so much better.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:19 PM) Stronger arm, plays in a pro system, better throwing motion, better athlete
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:19 PM) there's probably nothing Geno does right now that's better than what Teddy does
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 10:25 PM) Wouldn't it be funny with Bridgewater ends up having the type of season Barkley had?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) better athlete but never runs as well
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) stronger arm but rarely throws deep
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) I am trying to find this article, but Bridgewater had about the least amount of 40+ throws in college football
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:49 AM) I wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't viewed as highly next year. College players always get hyped up a year before the draft process. People change their opinions quickly.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 07:56 AM) I'll put a good amount of money that Bridgewater is still highly regarded coming out next year.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) ok I found the chart
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) Bridgewater had 0% of his passes go 40+ yards in college
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) he could be, I'll wait though
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) I doubt Smith will be as bad as Clausen anyways
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) I remember watching Clausen in a NFL game and the guy couldn't even throw a spiral.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) Geno has been impressing teammates with how well he can spin the ball and sling it.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 08:31 AM) I hope Geno turns out to be a f***ing monster
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 10:52 AM) andrew luck was hyped up for like 3 years before he entered teh draft
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:34 AM) tehhhh
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:37 AM) it wasn't for 3 years and Andrew Luck is the best QB prospect to come out in years. Teddy Bridgewater most likely isn't Luck or RGIII
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:40 AM) I've only seen Bridgewater play once. That was against Florida, I actually watched that game.

Say Melvin Ingram is gone, Michael Floyd is gone, Trent Richardson is gone. We are sitting there and David Decastro is available, would you take him? This is a guy who is a pretty safe pick, mots think hes a future all pro guard. While Guard isn't a huge need, it could represent best available player, and Slauson/Moore are both UFA after this season. Slauson is also coming off of significant surgery.

I'm all for beefing up the trenches. Jets had some of their better success when the oline was stout.

He probably won't fall to the Jets anyways, but I don't think I would be upset with the pick since its adding a great player.

Everytime I hear "safe" pick I cringe. If none of the guys we're targeting is there, I'd rather move down.

To trade down you have to have someone willing to trade up to get a player they want.

I rate Guards as the least important position on a football field.

Not that they don't make an impact, but the fact that they grow on f***ing trees. Only since we paid Faneca have Guards actually seen big contracts.

lol and I still wouldn't even take a center top 15. LTs are worth the 1st overall pick if they are good enough. C are worth 16-32 if they are good enough. RTs and Guards should never be in the 1st round

You can't question the success that Steve Hutchinson and Alan Faneca had, the impact they had on run games. I believe you get the best players when you go best available.

And anyways, DeCastro most likely won't be on the board at 16, teams love him way too much.

I'd draft a center in the top 20, no doubt. Also a RT in the bottom half.

Yeah, I didn't say they have no impact. I said you can find impactful Guards all over. That's how I've always felt.

Right on!! If there is no value for us at our pick trade down and pick up some extra picks. Our depth has been shitty for the past few years due to us trading away players and picks. Gaurd is not a need. Taclke Safety Pass Rush should be our focus.

The teams that are consistently the best in the NFL are the teams that draft a replacement before that position becomes a need. Moore is getting older, and on the last year of his contract. Slauson has been serviceable, but hardly anything more than an average guard. You may think OG isn't a need this year, but you might see a totally different picture next year when Moore is no longer a Jet and Slauson has proven he's already reached his low ceiling. At the point, you might be wishing the Jets had taken DeCastro instead of one of the pass rushers that end up not panning out, simply because you thought the pass rush was the most important need.

I'm all for drafting players that have a very high probability of being successful. DeCastro has a very high floor, but also a very high ceiling...that's why he is considered a top 20 pick at OG. If the value of the board at 16 leaves DeCastro as the best player, take him.

I agree with drafting ahead but the OG position is one that can be filled without using a 1st. All I am saying is trade down before taking a OG that high in the first. If we had the 30th pick maybe.

I wouldn't do it.

But like HJ said, I'd be more happy that we're drafting BPA if we ended up taking him. That's always been my draft philosophy and I don't think the Jets do it.

I agree with this. Not that Decastro will even fall to us, but if he does and is the highest rated guy than I would take him. Slauson is coming off of major shoulder surgery and is average to begin with, also both OG FA after the season. Want a ground and pound offense, have a dominant OL.

I would not be upset with taking Decastro, hes probably is a instant upgrade over Slauson. I rather not reach for a guy based off of need and get someone who is a so-so player.

I think the players I want at 16 right now are Melvin Ingram, Michael Floyd, David Decastro, or Mark Barron. If we miss out on Ingram I rather not reach for another pass rusher, don't see any being worthy of being picked at 16. I would love Vinny Curry round 2.
