Former coach not sure how Jets QB Sanchez will cope
Last Updated: 8:42 AM, March 29, 2012

Posted: 1:14 AM, March 29, 2012

Pete Carroll and Mark Sanchez have known each other since the Jets quarterback was in high school. And Carroll, a former Jets head coach now head coach of the Seahawks, got to know Sanchez fairly well during the three seasons Sanchez played for him at USC.

Carroll said yesterday he doesn’t know how easy it will be for Sanchez to contend with the tidal wave that is Tim Tebow and Tebowmania.

“It’s not easy,” Carroll told reporters at the NFL owners’ meetings in Palm Beach, Fla. “It’s tough. It’s a challenging situation. He can’t brush it off. ... It’s a challenging predicament. The other guy is going to play some so that means [Sanchez] is not.

“He’s no different than anybody else. He wants to play, and he’s going to fight for that.”

Carroll also said the situation is going to be tough on Rex Ryan and the Jets coaching staff.

“How are they going to know if the guy sitting on the bench is able to come in and win that game?” Carroll said. “They’ve both done it. They’re both come-from-behind guys. They’ve both overcome odds and issues.

“It’s going to be fascinating to see how Rex does it. If anybody can figure this out, Rex can figure it out.”

Cope? Did Tebow f*** his mom?

Tebowmania exists because of the media and his fans. The only thing he has to cope with is not reading the news papers.

In all fairness, he would had a lot more success if he had the same situation as he did in the NCAA. That is, if the entire system was built for his program to succeed and he was able to pay players under the table.

At least he is still in the weakest division in the sport like in college.

Some owners are so stupid. Pete Carroll is not a good head coach in this league and he has proved that time and time again. Both Jets and Patriots teams he coached collapsed. He has done nothing in Seattle and his trade for Tavaris Jackson should've gotten him fired. I guess he knew something the rest of the league didn't. Whitehust and Jackson are backup quarterbacks.

Now he goes all in for Matt Flynn. We'll see.

Trade was for Whitehurst. Jackson signed as a FA. But those moves along with the big deal for Sidney Rice..yeah.

At least he brought Mike Williams back .......
