Jets are doing jets related things also... THE KNICKS.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:01 AM) Like people need more reasons to stay at home for the game
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) Honestly, at this point, the only way I'd go to an NFL game was A. Free tickets B. Tickets were close enough to the field that I felt like I could heckle a player and be heard
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) its not stupid its actually genius
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) the problem is i know for sure the evil genius behind it is dan snyder and other owners pushing for this shit
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) they want their new stadiums to inhale your money from the minute you enter its zipcode
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) Genius in the sense that you force people to spend more money
santana Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) right
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) Baseball stadiums started doing this since right after 9/11
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) I used to go to Mets games as a kid with a subway hero
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) Now I gotta drop $30 for a burger with fries
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) You know what I do? Not go to the fuckin games LOL
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) And it's not just me because the Mets suck, Yankees can't sell out anymore at all
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) Shit, even Mets vs Yankees wasn't sold out
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) That never happened in the 90s
santana Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) ghetto fries
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) whats amusing is at nationals stadium the staff is the worst
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) they don't give a shit
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) specially sunday morning
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) How so?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) Do they make you watch the Nationals?
santana Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) every time they handed me my food or what not then i had to go to the register to pay i just walked away because the queue was too long
santana Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) people running the registers just go super slow
santana Icon : (Today, 12:07 AM) no one there is in charge of making sure the customers are following the process
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) Wait, you pay after you get your food?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) How does that even work?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) Everywhere you pay when you place your order
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) well its decided getting some booze tomorrow afternoon and drinking every time i head lebron's head band referenced
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) like i said the concession stands are a mess
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) You might die
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) there were multiple people behind the counter
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) so you could just go up to it and ask for what you wanted and 1 out of the 5 people would be on a single register
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) so eventually you were just handed your food
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) expecting for someone to approach the register you were standing infront to charge you
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) or you were led to believe maybe you had to go line up to the one that had a cashier with people already waiting on it
santana Icon : (Today, 12:14 AM) so a lot of the times when i was just handed the food i requested i would stand there look around see them go back to being distracted on their boost mobile phones or whatever reason and walked away
santana Icon : (Today, 12:14 AM) i got 6 pretzels like this for the group i was with and 3 hot dogs
santana Icon : (Today, 12:15 AM) my ticket one time had like 5$ towards concessions or what not their scanner wasnt working at the register so it wasnt reading it right or she didnt know what she was doing. she tried to scan it 3 times then litterally just turned away so i was standing there asking if it was all good no one answered so i just walked away with the food
santana Icon : (Today, 12:18 AM) probably doesn't help that they are hiring people from one of the worst parts of dc
santana Icon : (Today, 12:19 AM) in fact all the stadiums in dc are in very low income areas probably to exploit this work force
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:31 AM) No stadiums are in low income areas because that's how they get municipal bonds to finance construction. "Look, we're giving black people jobs! Pay for our stadium!!!"
santana Icon : (Today, 12:32 AM) right
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 01:48 PM) New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will face a lawsuit for allegedly shooting a man after an altercation at a Miami strip club.

TMZ.com broke news of this stunning development, as the lawsuit was filed in Florida federal court on Wednesday—five days prior to authorities searching Hernandez's Massachusetts home for an apparently unrelated homicide case.
santana Icon : (Today, 02:41 PM) A well-placed source told Paul Lukas, who writes Uni Watch for ESPN.com, that Revis paid safety Mark Barron $50,000 to get the No. 24 from the second-year safety.
Mr_Jet Icon : (Today, 04:06 PM) I've watched about 3 minutes of ESPN today and have already heard the word "headband" twice.
santana Icon : (Today, 04:13 PM) yea i'm going to get hammered

WR Stephen Hill: 'I’m ready to give the Jet fans something to scream about.'

BY Manish Mehta

Less than 24 hours after the Jets addressed one of their glaring defensive needs, Rex Ryan & Co. made an aggressive move to give Mark Sanchez a little more help.

The Jets traded up four spots in the second round to select Georgia Tech wide receiver Stephen Hill with the 43rd overall pick on Friday. They swapped second rounders with the Seahawks in addition to giving up their fifth-round pick (No. 154 overall) and one of their seventh-round picks (No. 232) to position themselves to take the speedy Hill, who ran a blazing 4.31 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

“I’m ready to give the Jet fans something to scream about,” Hill said after spending the first day of the draft at the Radio City Music Hall green room.

The 6-5, 216-pound Hill gives Sanchez a tall, deep threat that was missing in the Jets’ offense.

“Catching the ball from Mark Sanchez (will be) great,” said Hill, who will replace Plaxico Burress and play opposite Santonio Holmes. “I’m going to make sure I get with him as soon as possible and try to get this roll on.”

Hill’s ability to stretch the field – he averaged 25.5 yards per catch in three seasons – will be a welcomed addition for Gang Green, but he’ll have to make an adjustment from Georgia Tech’s triple-option offensive system to the pros.

“It’s going to be a big transition,” Hill admitted. “I’m ready to go. I’m ready to learn. I’m a quick learner. So I’m ready to see how things unfold.”

Hill, who only had 49 receptions in college, was one of most athletic receivers in the draft. The Jets were enamored by Hill’s leaping ability, which will make him an ideal red-zone threat too. His blocking prowess was another bonus for a team that will emphasize that within their ground-and-pound scheme.

"I can definitely put somebody on the butt," Hill said. “They liked my physicality a lot.”

Hill admitted that he’ll have to use his physical style to get off press man coverage at the next level. He’ll also have to sharpen his route running.

His speed, of course, was his most enticing trait.

The Jets hope that he’ll be able to stretch the field and keep defenses from stacking the box to stop the run. He maintained that his 4.3 40 time at the Combine was typical. Coming from a run-heavy college offense, Hill’s 40 time opened plenty of eyes. The Jets attended his Pro Day and put him through a personal workout, which sealed the deal.

“That was definitely routine,” Hill said of his blazing 40 time. “I worked a lot on that. I actually told the Jets that I was going to run that time.”

Hill didn’t seem fazed by the New York spotlight, either. Shortly after getting selected, he started a J-E-T-S chant from the Radio City stage for Gang Green fans in attendance.

“It was definitely a long day of waiting,” Hill said of not getting selected in the first round. “Once I heard that the Jets traded, I really had no idea until that phone started ringing.”

Although the Jets were amenable to drafting a receiver, offensive lineman or front seven player in the second round, they zoned in on Hill after he went undrafted in the first 10 picks of the round.
Gang Green had several players on their wish list for Day 2 of the draft. Alabama outside linebacker Courtney Upshaw, who was linked to the Jets in the run-up to the draft, was scooped up by the Ravens with the third pick of the third round (35th overall). The Jets had a second-round grade on Upshaw.

With the 38th overall pick, the Jaguars took Clemson defensive end Andre Branch, who could been an explosive edge pass rusher for Gang Green if they hadn’t selected Quinton Coples in the first round.

For once it sounds like we've got someone that believes in a TEAM philosophy right from the door. Kid started the JETS chant as soon as he got drafted. I like it. Let's hope he can produce. Thank God Schitty isn't here anymore or else he would never be used for his size.

I'm skeptical of his college production but how can you not love his enthusiasm? He's going to put his all into this

GT was definitely a run first offense so we can't hold it against this kid that he had low numbers. He was also a blocking receiver. He apparently isn't afraid to knock somebody on their ass & is foaming at the mouth wanting to, so I'm waiting to see what he brings to the table.

He seems excited to be a Jet, that is cool. Huge upside, hopefully we hit here. This was one of our biggest needs, getting a WR that could stretch the field and can be the #2 guy.

Yes, Paul Johnson is still their coach.
