Jets are doing jets related things also... THE KNICKS.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:59 PM) ?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:59 PM) why would we give a f*** about the Giants?
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 03:04 PM) gg03 jimmies are riled
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 03:21 PM) You're not in NY. All the backpages are focused on Sanchez
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 03:21 PM) None of the NY media even mention Cruz or Nicks
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:40 PM) nicks isn't holding out. he's injured still and taking it easy. cruz is holding out. why it isn't a big ordeal IDK. it would be for us
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:02 PM) maybe because theyre not that far off.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:02 PM) Cruz wants to return back, they'll figure it out.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:41 PM) 3 mil a year off or 30% less then cruz wants. tahst alot of money to be off
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:41 PM) cruz doens't want to leave NY cause teh extra money he'll get in endorsements plus he knows taht they can RFA him this year and then Franchise next year so he might not be able to get a LTD for 3 years
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 05:21 PM) Clemens11/Tebow15 (soon to be Smith7) said if we had just drafted Crabtree and Nicks and kept Clemens, we'd be good.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) No, he can't be Smith7
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) his name is reserved for garbage QBs, we don't want Geno to be bad
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) He can be McElroy14
extmenace Icon : (Yesterday, 06:51 PM) we're taking bridgewater next year with the number 1 pick and treating geno like a jimmy clausen.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:53 PM) What makes Bridgewater better than Geno?
HurricaneJet32 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:12 PM) everything
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:56 PM) ^
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:16 PM) college players always get hyped up before the draft process, just wondering what makes him so much better.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:19 PM) Stronger arm, plays in a pro system, better throwing motion, better athlete
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:19 PM) there's probably nothing Geno does right now that's better than what Teddy does
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 10:25 PM) Wouldn't it be funny with Bridgewater ends up having the type of season Barkley had?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) better athlete but never runs as well
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) stronger arm but rarely throws deep
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) I am trying to find this article, but Bridgewater had about the least amount of 40+ throws in college football
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:49 AM) I wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't viewed as highly next year. College players always get hyped up a year before the draft process. People change their opinions quickly.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 07:56 AM) I'll put a good amount of money that Bridgewater is still highly regarded coming out next year.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) ok I found the chart
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) Bridgewater had 0% of his passes go 40+ yards in college
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) he could be, I'll wait though
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) I doubt Smith will be as bad as Clausen anyways
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) I remember watching Clausen in a NFL game and the guy couldn't even throw a spiral.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) Geno has been impressing teammates with how well he can spin the ball and sling it.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 08:31 AM) I hope Geno turns out to be a f***ing monster
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 10:52 AM) andrew luck was hyped up for like 3 years before he entered teh draft
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:34 AM) tehhhh
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:37 AM) it wasn't for 3 years and Andrew Luck is the best QB prospect to come out in years. Teddy Bridgewater most likely isn't Luck or RGIII
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:40 AM) I've only seen Bridgewater play once. That was against Florida, I actually watched that game.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 12:12 PM) Teddy will be a good NFL QB I think
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Today, 12:52 PM) THE KNICKS
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 01:21 PM) THE. KNICKS.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:43 PM) Geno was the favorite to win the Heisman this time last year
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:44 PM) He was also a Top 5 pick this time last year
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:44 PM) If he came out in 2012, he might have gotten drafted before RG3
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:56 PM) TEH KNICKS

Stephen Hill. 115's pride and joy. The guy he's never seen play once, but damn he was smoking in that spandex in Indy! Posted Image

Strengths:
  • Size, Reach, Length
  • Athletic Measurables
  • Seemingly solid hands
  • Attacking the ball at the highest point
  • Plus blocker from playing in triple option

Weakness:
  • Has to learn a full route tree
  • Experience
  • Raw

My Thoughts:

From Day 1 teams will have to account for his speed and athletic ability outside the numbers. While learning the ways of a real receiver, he can still stretch the field and attract attention deep along with his blocking ability, it'll help him get on the field. Clearly has every bit of the athletic ability of any stud in the NFL. If he can combine that, with some football IQ, he can be an All-Pro in the NFL. High Risk, High Reward

Upside: All-Pro physically dominating WR
Downside: Just another athlete in the NFL who doesn't pan out to squat

Grade: B. I liked too many receivers in the draft to move up to get him. It would of made more sense to keep the picks and have him (or another WR) fall to us. The tremendous upside keeps this pick from being a full letter grade lower for me.

DeMario Davis. Initially thought he was projected as an OLB, but Rex confirms ILB in the future.

Strengths:
  • Speedy (4.61 40)
  • Strong (32 bench reps)
  • Special Teamer from Day 1

Weakness:
  • Level of competition
  • Lacks football IQ / high level coaching
  • Looks to struggle in man coverage

My Thoughts:

XOS only showed me a few clips and games from Arkansas State so I could only really form my opinion from a little bit of watching. Clearly he stood out as a man among boys at the level he played at, which is definitely a plus for someone making the transition to the NFL from a small school. He definitely possesses great speed and has some real pop behind his tackles.

He doesn't look to play in control very often, he relied on a bunch of his athletic ability to really stand out. He will need time to learn the system, NFL offenses and mature as a player. Special Teams he could be a gem.

Upside: Special Teams ace. Used on sub packages on defense
Downside: Doesn't even make the team this year

Grade: D+.

I don't really feel like watching it.

What grade did they give us? Did they break it down pick by pick?

We got a B and they mulled over the first 3 picks. The Dolphins got a C, The Bills got an A, the Pats got an A and a fellatio from every analyst.

I just watched the video and Mike Mayock was like "They got Dennard who teams gave a 2/3 grade in the 7th, I got find out why he slid". I guess hes not as big of a draft guru as people say because its pretty easy to figure out why he fell. The guy assaulted a police officer recently and had trouble before that..

Its getting annoying how much they blow the Pats for their drafts, even when they showed all the garbage defensive players they drafted lately they made excuses for them and acted like they weren't bad. They really think Chandler Jones is going to be Jason Pierre-Paul. The only pick I liked was Hightower for them and even he has his limitations, on passing downs he needs to play DE and rush the passer otherwise hes a 2-down defender. 260 pound LBs are losing their place in the NFL.

f*** your grades. Anytime you add a starter and fill a need, you don't get a D.

If Davis starts a game within the next 2 years I'll leave the forum. He didn't fill a need, and he won't be a starter.

I was talking about Hill as the starter and a need. Davis is going to add some much needed speed to our LBer core, which is a dire need.

Reading is crucial. I gave the Hill pick a B.

Davis a D+. He'll be a special teamer, that's about all I expect out of him. Just because he's quick doesn't make it a great move.

I only saw the grade at the bottom and thought you were giving an overall for the day. Turns out you're not as dumb as I thought. You get a solid B- from me.

Sorry, I was MIA the rest of the weekend so I didn't have a chance to respond.

In short, I don't know shit about Demario Davis, and I'm not a fan of the Stephen Hill pick. Basically, the Ghost of Al Davis was obviously running the Jets war room. Demario Davis was one of the fastest linebackers in the draft, Stephen Hill was the fastest WR in the draft, Coples is an athletic freak, etc.

My reasoning against Stephen Hill is the same sentiment that has been echoed many times already on this board, "Why give up picks for a WR in a class that is so deep at WR?" Especially a WR that is such a boom-bust pick. Don't get me wrong, Stephen Hill has the chance to be great and far outperform his draft position, which would make him a great pick. But, I generally think it's better to avoid the risky draft picks, as they flop more often than not...especially when the Jets don't have the stacked roster to absorb a risk-reward pick.

Prediction: In 2 years we're all taking a trip to San Diego to soak up sun......and beat the shit out of jetsfan115 for cursing this team.

The more I read about Davis, the more I like him. I was reading senior bowl reports and he had good reviews there. He was the biggest leader of the LBs according to reports. He would set guys up in drills. He impressed with his speed and reading out plays. His scouting report says that his intangibles are off the chart. I'm excited to see him play this summer.

If Bill Belichik drafted DeMario Davis in the 2nd round, everyone would proclaim that he was highly productive, usually the best player on the field for both teams and a great leader. Kiper or Mayock or both would say that he was their sleeper pick and he would have been compared to Lance Briggs. But of course, since the Jets drafted him his garbage and probably will be out of the league in 3 years.

forbes nailed it. we've drafted great for the past 5 or so years. ever since we got rid of TB as the GM (and his jolley and nugent for a 1st round pick BS) we've done great starting with brick and mangold. the only miss we had was gholston. all our other high picks have contributed. keller, sanchez, harris, mangold, brick, wilson, wilkerson, greene, slauson, connor, revis, all drafted in the past 6 years and have ben major contribuots to our sucess
Get it done MT
