"Why the Brooklyn Nets when they can be the New York N------s? The cheerleaders could be the Brooklyn B----hes or Hoes. Team logo? A 9 mm with hollow-tip shell casings strewn beneath. Wanna be Jay-Z hip? Then go all the way!"

I cannot believe that he would think and actually post such bullshit. He's just an ass!!
As a lifelong Net fan, remembering Rick Barry playing for the Nets at the Commack Arena I am pisssed that someone would take a shot at MY B-ball team. They are finally getting some juice. They spent a billion $$ for a hoop court, not a football stadium. They are not playing second fiddle to anyone.
From a marketing perspective, Jay-Z and the Nets have an excellent campaign. They are branding themselves extremely well. The black and white colors are unique to the league and brilliant. The TV commericials shown in duotones focusing on the community is also brilliant to bring back the days of when....nastalgic when Brooklyn was the home to millions of immigrants in the late 1800's and early 1900's...the Brooklyn Dodgers, the bums, when they were the home team...
The commercials show the communities of Brooklyn with the Aesthetic Jewish communities, the ethnic communities of Eastern Europe. A melting pot in Brooklyn, regardless of race, creed or religion.....black and white. F'n beautiful man.
Relax EliteJets...there will be always ignorant haters. The Nets are coming!!

I think he has been hanging out with Imas too much. I think in his next rebuttal that we are going to hear the term "nappy head". Such ignorrance. I can't stand old sports writers. They are so out of touch. We just had one up here in Rochester, NY retire...Bob Matthews. Word man...not Good riddance.

What else do you expect from a Rupert Murdoch newspaper? The New York Post is only a few notches above those tabloids that talk about the bat boy and Elvis still being alive when it comes to credibility.
I truly believe Jay Z chose black and white because he's a Yankees fan. And that dude complaining about not needing a color TV anymore is just an idiot. If you're watching basketball more for the uniforms than the game itself, then you have issues. He was just being a asshole with that statement. It doesn't matter if a team is seen as being "urban" or "rural" people like a winner. It doesn't matter if it's New York City or Green Bay, Wisconsin, a winning team is the team that grows their fanbase. If the Nets become a winning team on a regular basis you're going to have people in Topeka wearing Nets gear.

Comments like these are meant to raise a shit storm. Am I offended? Nope. Do I like JayZ? Yup. Did I grow up using ni99a to describe someone, yup. None of this shit is new. He's the same type of writer that when AI first burst on the scene with his corn rows and tattoos, slammed him for being a thug. Hip hop culture still rubs old folks the wrong way.
As far as the Nets go, they got a long road to hoe in Brooklyn. NY is a Knicks town and will be for the forseeable future. The Nets are doing some "community" work and Thursday they were picking up garbage in Prospect Park. Yes, the Nets were picking up garbage in a park. The problem is, they had "Brooklyn's own Bernard King" there as the "face" of the franchise. You see the problem with this? WTF is Bernard King?! The Nets lack any type of star power and history. Nice team colors aren't going to get it done when you're competing with the Yankees and Giants and Rangers championships, the the Jets media blitzes, and the Knicks and Mets histories. I think the Nets are going to be bottom dwellers for a long time and if Deron Williams walks this summer, Jigga is going to have to make a song for each Net player for anyone to know who they are.

1st Deron Williams isn't going anywhere and than bernard king is a Brooklyn head through and through... also the Knicks and Rangers championships??? u mean the 1 rangers 1 in 1994 and the knicks 1 in 1960s?? Come on now, the Knicks are trash and Brooklyn is killing it(while not even being in the playoffs)
I said the Knicks "tradition". No one in Brooklyn knows who Bernard King is. He's not even the most famous Bernard King. The only way the Nets are going to make any waves in Brooklyn is if they hold on to Deron (doesn't sound like he will) and they pair him with D12. It's a long shot.
