Interesting Tid Bits From Jets Camp As per WFAN

-On QB controversy: "It's totally made up. It's something the media is creating. It would take nothing short of a Sanchez injury for Tebow to start at QB... and some feel that if something should happen to Sanchez, McIlroy would get the nod. There's absolutely no one within the organization that thinks that Sanchez will not start."
-On Revis: "I keep flopping on this and if you were to ask me last week, I would say that he'd be in camp... but I spoke to him yesterday and he's adamant that a new deal be done. He feels as if the Jets made the 'band aid deal' two years ago with a promise to rework the contract this summer. Unfortunately, I think we'll see a third hold out from Revis". He went on to say that Revis "doesn't care what the fans think. He says 'it's my contract situation and it doesn't involve anyone else'".
-Stephen Hill has an injured hammy and does not practice. He does individual drills.
-Rex is talking up Ducasse, saying he's in the best shape and most improved thus far. Schwartz isn't buying it.
-Coples looks very good so far.
-Word around the league is that in 3 year, our 3rd pick (Davis) is going to be the best player we got in this draft.
-Ellis started his jail sentence today.

I think we drafted for athleticism. we got the most athletic DE, LBer, and WR in the draft with our 1st 3 picks

I could agree with coples and hill but not davis. he was projected as a 4th or 5th rounder but since we had none of those we took him with a 3rd. most would consider him a reach.

So basically Rex is saying we shouldn't believe our lying eyes. I'll be very surprised if he's anywhere where he needs to be to be a starter.

Teams boards are different, we have no idea where the Jets ranked him. Not a lot of people knew about him because he didn't play at a top school, doesn't mean he won't be great. The Jets obviously loved him.
Also, its been obvious that Sanchez is a better QB than Tebow and will be the teams starter. If Sanchez goes down, I doubt McElroy would start, it would be Tebow but as a passer he can't compare with Sanchez.
I keep hearing how impressive Quinton Coples has been, but one thing to remember is that in OTAs and minicamps, the OL can't do much vs the DL.
This was on Cimini's chat today
Tony (Richmond, CA)
What is your prediction for Quinton Coples career in NY? Will he live up to his first round status? Or be another flop like Vernon Gholston?
Rich Cimini (1:41 PM)
I can guarantee this: he won't be another Gholston. He's already done more than Gholston ever did. Will he be great? I don't know. He has the physical tools. In preseason, we'll find out about the passion.
I hope he ends up being a stud, I would be happy to be wrong.

I stand by the Davis thing but I'm definitely happy he's impressing. Still not sure what his position is.
16-9 right now. Just lost a big bat for awhile but we'll survive. My top 2 haven't even pitched that well yet.

teams boards are just fans way of making excuses for bad picks. everyones boards are very similar for the 1st 3 rounds or so

Yup. the reason the draft differs is alot of teams reach for their biggest needs instead of taking the BPA, and then will try and say the pick was their BPA. I'm not saying the players are 100% the same but i'd say within 3-4 spots of each other. no teams had luck as a 2nd rounder. none of them had him past 2 on their board. most scouts see the same things in the same players

So f***ing disappointing. f***ing guy has the chance to be loved by this fan base and he just doesn't care.
While he was slogging through stop-and-go traffic at the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, the car next to him was violently rear-ended. The quarterback threw his car into park, hopped out and ran to the woman whose car had been hit. She was wearing, of all things, an Esiason jersey, and was utterly shocked when he tapped on her window to check on her.
"Are you OK?" he said, trying to keep calm. "Are you OK?"
"Boomer? Is that you?" she asked the Good Samaritan, sounding disoriented. "I think I'm OK, but . ... "
"But you guys sucked."
Welcome to the New York Jets, Tim Tebow.
