Anyone here been to either? My wife and I are thinking of jumping across the pond for our 10th anniversary. Any places we need to look at? I saw there is a train you can take from London to France as well.

Have lived in London for the past four years and would highly recommend a visit. There are plenty of places to stay in the centre and the tourist attractions are all pretty well known (tours of places can be quite expensive though). If you came to London I'd suggest a couple trips outside the city such as Windsor and Oxford, both of which are not too far out, to experience the more authentic side of Britain when it comes to pubs, restaurants etc.
The Eurostar runs frequently to Paris from King's Cross station. I've never been on it, but think the journey is about three hours. It can be quite expensive I think (as with all public transport in the UK) unless booked in advance.

Thanks for the info. I saw in the Eurostar website it takes 2 1/2 hours @ 189 MPH! Holy cow! The cost was like 79 Euros which I believe is about 95 american dollars. I think we may skip Ireland even though that is my heritage and use london as our "hub" to see the UK. Paris seems like a must. Any other easy trips?
