Rex, Dick Lebeau, Beli-boy, Wade Phillips. Not in that order but the best in the business.

Ultimately it would have to be between Lebeau and Rex. Both 2 entirely different coaches, different minds, different philosophies but 2 of the best in the world. Who's better? I don't know.

Why in the world is Belichik still considered the best DEF coach? When was the last time the Pats defense was in the Top 10? Considering that Miami and the Bills haven't been any good on offense the past decade (that's 4 games per year) and that the Pats always have multiple 1st and 2nd round picks, I'd say Belli is a below average DEF coach.

The early superbowls were won with defense. Beli is a good defensive mind. Thing is he hasn't had much of a defense or pieces but I agree.

I think the biggest variable on any Pats team from Belli's tenure is Brady. If we're going to go by "biggest wins because of defense" than Tom Caughlin has to be in the Top 3. No one built a better front line than the Giants and they were directly responsible for both SB wins. Since they done it with different coordinators, the credit has to go to Caughlin.

I dont think Beli is in the coversation. Since all the Parcells guys retired or have been released, he has not had a good D. Law, McGinnis, Teddy etc... I would say Rex would have gotten more from that D. I will say Beli is a more rounded coach than any other though.
