First catch as a seahawk is a 40yrd TD grab. For the crap this guy gets into he's worth the headache especially at his asking price. Yet we opt for Chaz. :ranting:

key difference is if edwards has a average to good year he will ask for a boat load of money
jets would rather keep small contracts at wr while developing fresh talent. i'm sure they are trying to mimic the giants in that aspect.

If Edwards is doing that in November then I'll feel we missed out on something. If Edwards had done that with the Jets he'd be demanding a bigger pay day. The money he'd want wouldn't be worth the overall production we'd get out of him. That is if he isn't getting arrested for being a dumbass.

It's the first preseason game. Let's see how he does as time goes on.

Exactly! Lets not let the first preseason game or one catch dictate our year.

other then victor cruz who they found as a UDFA taht turned into a beats they've invested heavily in early picks ove rthe past 5 years at teh WR position

1st rounders
Hakeem Nicks

2nd rounders
steve smith
sinorice moss
randle

3rd rounders
ramses barden
jernnigan
manningham

Thats 7 in the 1ts 3 rounds in just 5-6 years we've drafted only hill in the 1st 3 rounds at WR in that time. huge difference

I thought they should have kept him over Holmes last year. Braylon can get deep and Holmes can't or doesn't

I could understand if we were concerned about Edwards' injury he suffered last year, but they then went out and signed Schilens who himself has struggled to stay healthy. Other than his DUI, Braylon was relatively well behaved during his time in New York. And having seen the clip from Hard Knocks of his discussions with Jeff Ireland, it's obvious he has been most happy when a Jet and playing for Rex. It seems odd that we've overlooked him again.

We'll just have to hope that our receiving corps steps up this year, with Hill producing early, Kerley improving and Schilens contributing.

i expect nothing from chaz. out WRs are not that good

Holmes is a cry baaby and can give up at any moment but at leats he has talent
hill has talent but is a raw rookie and to expect a huge year out of him is unrealistic
kerly is solid and good in the slot but nothing special
all our other WRs suck (schillens, turner) or are late pick rookies (white)

Maybe he slept with MTs wife. why else bring in schillens over him?

Braylon is better, was an awesome teammate, loved it here, offered to take a hometown discount and instead we took holmes over him paid alot to have someone ruin the lockerrom etc etc

BE should have been a jet

He could, but i'm saying that if your a GM and not a fan you have took look at him as a rookie.

Also after seeing that 1st game i doubt it. not cause of hill but cause sanchez has no time to throw and always checks down becuase of it. a QB needs time to stretch the field

I don't think BE was a awesome teammate. Back when Holmes and Edwards were FAs, there were players talking trash about Edwards. Maybe the Jets really don't want 2 vocal WRs on the team anymore?

Jets would have never been able to get Braylon for the money he took elsewhere because he felt entitled to more here. Problem is he didn't know there wasn't that competitive of a market for him outside NY. Tannenbaum knew he couldn't sign him to Holmes money, but Edwards thought he'd get that elsewhere. Sounds like more of a team building/chemistry thing than a talent thing. Maybe the team hitched its wagon to Holmes entirely, and the chemistry between two prima donna receivers would've caused too much trouble on a hopeful run-first team.
