SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 AM) You know what I do? Not go to the fuckin games LOL
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 AM) And it's not just me because the Mets suck, Yankees can't sell out anymore at all
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 AM) Shit, even Mets vs Yankees wasn't sold out
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 AM) That never happened in the 90s
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 AM) ghetto fries
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:05 AM) whats amusing is at nationals stadium the staff is the worst
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:05 AM) they don't give a shit
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:05 AM) specially sunday morning
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:06 AM) How so?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:06 AM) Do they make you watch the Nationals?
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:06 AM) every time they handed me my food or what not then i had to go to the register to pay i just walked away because the queue was too long
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:06 AM) people running the registers just go super slow
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:07 AM) no one there is in charge of making sure the customers are following the process
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:11 AM) Wait, you pay after you get your food?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:11 AM) How does that even work?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:11 AM) Everywhere you pay when you place your order
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:12 AM) well its decided getting some booze tomorrow afternoon and drinking every time i head lebron's head band referenced
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:12 AM) like i said the concession stands are a mess
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:12 AM) You might die
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:12 AM) there were multiple people behind the counter
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:13 AM) so you could just go up to it and ask for what you wanted and 1 out of the 5 people would be on a single register
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:13 AM) so eventually you were just handed your food
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:13 AM) expecting for someone to approach the register you were standing infront to charge you
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:13 AM) or you were led to believe maybe you had to go line up to the one that had a cashier with people already waiting on it
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:14 AM) so a lot of the times when i was just handed the food i requested i would stand there look around see them go back to being distracted on their boost mobile phones or whatever reason and walked away
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:14 AM) i got 6 pretzels like this for the group i was with and 3 hot dogs
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:15 AM) my ticket one time had like 5$ towards concessions or what not their scanner wasnt working at the register so it wasnt reading it right or she didnt know what she was doing. she tried to scan it 3 times then litterally just turned away so i was standing there asking if it was all good no one answered so i just walked away with the food
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:18 AM) probably doesn't help that they are hiring people from one of the worst parts of dc
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:19 AM) in fact all the stadiums in dc are in very low income areas probably to exploit this work force
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:31 AM) No stadiums are in low income areas because that's how they get municipal bonds to finance construction. "Look, we're giving black people jobs! Pay for our stadium!!!"
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:32 AM) right
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:48 PM) New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will face a lawsuit for allegedly shooting a man after an altercation at a Miami strip club.

TMZ.com broke news of this stunning development, as the lawsuit was filed in Florida federal court on Wednesday—five days prior to authorities searching Hernandez's Massachusetts home for an apparently unrelated homicide case.
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 02:41 PM) A well-placed source told Paul Lukas, who writes Uni Watch for ESPN.com, that Revis paid safety Mark Barron $50,000 to get the No. 24 from the second-year safety.
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 04:06 PM) I've watched about 3 minutes of ESPN today and have already heard the word "headband" twice.
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 04:13 PM) yea i'm going to get hammered
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 05:29 PM) that left side of japan is no joke
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 05:33 PM) damn that was so karate
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 05:45 PM) http://i.minus.com/iqVziQ4MnbBdg.gif
Chaos Icon : (Yesterday, 06:57 PM) James Gandolfini passed away
Chaos Icon : (Yesterday, 06:58 PM) he was 51, suspected heart attack
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 07:01 PM) I guess that means no soprano movie
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:14 PM) he was also a JETS fan
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 07:46 PM) That's a surprising death but him dying of a heart attack is not a surprise.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) Anyone had him in the pool?
santana Icon : (Today, 12:16 AM) nope

Rex Ryan: Stephen Hill not 'my pick' for New York Jets

The New York Jets used their second-round draft pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the No. 43 overall pick, on Georgia Tech wide receiver Stephen Hill. But if it were up to head coach Rex Ryan, the Jets would have gone in a different direction.

"Well, nothing told me he would (contribute)," Ryan told Don Banks of Sports Illustrated. "Nothing. When I saw the tape (of his collegiate play) I was concerned. But (Jets general manager) Mike Tannenbaum and (senior personnel executive) Terry Brady and all our scouts were adamant about this guy. They were adamant that this guy can do it.

"He can run all these routes, he had good hands and he's got 4.2 speed at 6-foot-5. He was the guy they all wanted, but honestly, when it came down to it, a wideout? Not my dream pick. But now that we have him, of course, I want to claim him: 'Oh, that was my pick.' But it really wasn't."

Part of Ryan's hesitation might have been due to Hill playing in a triple-option offense in college. The run-heavy offense limited Hill to just 49 catches for 1,248 yards and nine touchdowns in his 38-game career.

Coming from that offense actually makes Hill a perfect fit with the Jets -- which Ryan seems to acknowledge by wanting to claim Hill as his own selection -- which are planning to a be a run-first offense under Tony Sparano and should benefit from Hill's exceptional blocking ability.

Rex Ryan is a f***ing moron. Anyone defending this sad excuse for a coach needs to wake up.

I preferred Alshon Jeffery, as long he kept in shape. He was a hands catcher, not a body catcher and had big production in the SEC with a awful QB.

Did anyone actually bother to read the quotes or just the title? He's actually praising Hill.

He also said there was nothing in Hill's college game tape that said he was going to be good.

If that's how he feels that's how feels. It's not a big deal.

Ryan always says he loves his players-he always said he wanted Hunter starting and Schotty to come back. He doesn't always say he didn't want a guy around.

Were I Hill I would be pissed my HC is talking about being overridden about taking me and worried I was going to be cut considering the last player Ryan said nice things about.

I know you aren't really into the bravado type of coaches and that is cool because we are all different. Some people like the quiet coaches.

I like Rex because he has a way with his words that makes most people want to see what he has next. Honestly Rex is the whole reason Hard Knocks Jets was the best Hard Knocks ever. Everyone couldn't wait to see what Rex said next Jets fans or not. He could be a good comedian if he wanted to.

I'm kind of in between on the topic. I like talkers that are about the team (especially the ones that are humble and only talk to pump the team up) but I cant stand the ones that talk about themselves(especially the ones that are such a**holes that they refer to themselves in the 3rd person).

I guess from my end its all about the charisma of the person who is talking. I couldn't stand to hear Cowher but kind of liked Gruden.

On another matter I'm not really sure why you and a few others think Rex is a bad head coach?? Two out of three years AFC Championship appearance. That`s a pretty good resume for a first 3 years(especially with a rookie qb who had the deer in the headlights look in most games his first two years)and no matter what happens this year the defense looks like it will be solid which it wasn't last year.As average as the offense was last year if we wouldn't have had so many weak areas on defense the Jets would have easily made the playoffs last year. We had no pass rush and other than Revis and Cro we were weak in pretty much every other defensive area. It was amazing the defense finished in the rank it did with all the problems.

The offense is what needs work now. If the offense still sucks by the end of the 2013 season Id say then it would be time to question him as a coach. I just think its far to early to call him a bad coach. Hell I think Mark is a terrible qb but I do have at least some belief that he could finally break out this year.

Cowher took 15 years to win a Superbowl and they had some pretty bad offenses over that period.Honestly I think the only reason he finally got his rings was only because of Roethlesburger. That was the difference in my mind. They finally had a franchise qb. Andy Reed has never won one as a head coach.

As far as Rex blowing smoke up his players a**es that is logically just media talk. You almost never see any head coach talk bad about their players. I'm quite sure Rex thought Gholston was sh*t but you would never see him say that in the media. As you know any time a coach makes a mistake and says or does something bad the media eats it up and blows it out of proportion.I mean hell we have commercials with stupid things some of the retired coaches have said.I`m just saying I wouldn't take it to heart when Rex or any coach says they have belief in a player because they know more than we do who on the team sucks and who doesn't. They just cant say it.

Just my take on it all.

  • Rex took over a team that had a winning record and, had Favre not gotten hurt, would have made the playoffs and been one of the favorites to win a SB. The fact is, before Ryan took over we were an injury away from being able to make a playoff run.
  • The Jets are one of the worst prepared teams in the league under Ryan. We are constantly playing from behind and have had to ask Sanchez to win games in the 4th way too often and have our defense try to make desperate stands too much. This is largely because the Jets in the first quarter generally look like they didn't get ready for the game, either mentally and/or in studying. Offensively the team rarely took advantage of weak points on offense.
  • Our drafts have not been great. Sanchez and Greene have been okay, but our picks on the offensive line have been terrible and while our defensive line picks look to have promise, Wilson has been a major bust.
  • All the stuff about players "loving" to play for Ryan is obviously, at best, no more than partially true. The team has looked listless as much as impassioned, especially over the last season and a half (including this preseason). Ryan admits he lost the pulse of the team, something absurd for a coach his player-relationship reputation.
  • Ryan has repeatedly acted in a manner that doesn't represent the team well. Cussing, giving the finger, etc. Some people might feel this doesn't matter, but I think the number of fans that don't appreciate these antics shows that enough care that he should act like an adult.
  • Likewise, his press conferences are an embarrassment. He acts like he has no clue what he is doing, regularly stumbling through answers and, of course, crying. Really, if the Jets are winning Ryan looks like a pathetic buffoon who has never had to deal with losing in his life (not to be petty, but this almost certainly stems from the nepotism involved with being Buddy's son and not having to have proven himself on his own merits).
  • The Jets, and Ryan, did a horrible job with Sanchez his first season, constantly using publicly-acknowledged stunts (green-light/red-light passing situations and the sliding crap among others) to "help" him that just made him sound like an infant unable to learn like other players.

It isn't just that Ryan is a terrible coach, he is probably just average or below average, but when you act a fool and your team isn't winning, you just look like a fool.
