Makes perfect sense to me and most Jets fans.
Have you looked at the Greene`s ypc????
Now we are trying Powell out because obviously Greene isn't good enough and neither is Mcknight or he would be running the ball not just on special teams teams and now being looked at to help at corner.
We need a legitimate starter which Powell probably isn't either. Is Grimes???? Probably not but Andre Brown is an example of rb`s waived multiple times that looked good in a game when given a chance.Arian Foster was a practice squad player and look at him now
Bottom line we need a rb. Just because they haven't found a replacement starting corner yet doesn't mean they aren't looking.First though you have to give the guys already on the roster unless a legit starting corner miraculously falls in your lap out of nowhere.
The rb problem has been a problem a lot longer.

The Giants and Texans have a history or getting more out of less talent. The Jets have a history of poo offensive talent assessment. I don't have much faith in our new RB or our new "cb".

Exterminate all rational thought, that is the conclusion I have come to

The Giants and Texans have invested heavily into the DLs and skills positions on the offense. The Giants especially have drafted a WR in either the 1st, 2nd ot 3rd round 7 times since the year after they drafted Eli. That's 1 a year average. When you surround your QB with weapons, suddenly that opens up the running game. On the other side of the ball, if you hit the opposing QB, you win. It's not rocket science.

The giants always take a WR in the top 3 rounds every year since they drafted eli
2006 2nd round sinorice moss
2007 2nd round steve smith
2008 3rd round mario manningham
2009 1st round hakeen nicks 3rd round ramses barden
2010 none but they did luck out with vicor cruz as an UDFA who went beast mode a year later
2011 3rd round jerrell jerningan
2012 2nd round rueben randel
so they've drafted 7 WRs in the top 3 rounds in the 7 years eli has been the starter plus lucked out with cruz.
In all fairness though moss sucked, smith had 1 good year due to the system but was never good, manningham mad a few nice catches but overall has been below average, nicks is a sutd, barden is a bust, cruz is a beast, jenrigan and randel are too young to judge
still even though they only hit big with 1 of the picks and 1 UDFA it gave him weapons despite 80% of them not working out. he has weapons. in contrast we have drafted hill in the 2nd round this year and thats it in the top 3 rounds in that time span. Eli also has had the same OC his entire career. that means alot
