New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has been fined $50,000 for "impermissible physical contact with an official" at the end of the Patriots' loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the NFL announced Wednesday.
Belichick grabbed Esteban Garza's arm while exiting the field.
"I have never meant any disrespect or in any way tried to abuse or be disrespectful to the officials and the job that they do," Belichick said after the incident.

Fifteen years ago after an especially disappointing loss to Miami, Esiason, then the Jets' quarterback, was making the seven-mile drive from the Meadowlands back to Manhattan.
While he was slogging through stop-and-go traffic at the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, the car next to him was violently rear-ended. The quarterback threw his car into park, hopped out and ran to the woman whose car had been hit. She was wearing, of all things, an Esiason jersey, and was utterly shocked when he tapped on her window to check on her.
"Are you OK?" he said, trying to keep calm. "Are you OK?"
"Boomer? Is that you?" she asked the Good Samaritan, sounding disoriented. "I think I'm OK, but . ... "
But what?
"But you guys sucked."

I don't think that was steep enough they should of fined him in the 6 figures to drive the point home that he is not bigger than the game and because that classless organization is not what they seem to think of themselves to be which is untouchable...the NFL if it had any sense should of made an EXAMPLE of that troll and that organization as to what will not be tolerated from Head Coaches and scumbag organizations IMO....f*** the CHEATriots

Goodell is more concerned about protecting scab refs that are ruining the game than refs who have worked with the league for years or players or fans. This isn't a coach getting in someone's face for nothing, the refs suck. The way they are going, lots of players and coaches will be grabbing and insulting them. At 50k a pop, the NFL will make a few million a week in fines.
