And how does what happened in 2011 have anything to do with this season? 2011 is just as relevant (or irrelevant) as 2010 is.
The team has gotten worse and less cohesive under Ryan. Nuff said. This isn't just what he has done, counting all three years. The Jets lost to the Colts in the AFC championship game because of injuries in game. The next year they came out 100% flat in the first half and were dominated by Pitt. Last year the team totally fell apart and this year the team looks worse. Want to wait to make that determination? Fine, but I won't because I thought we stunk heading into the season based on my objective opinion, and not just because I'm a Debbie Downer (what the Superfans want to label anyone who doesn't predict the team to go 19-0).
The Keller injury was unfortunate since he actually contributes, but the Holmes injury doesn't mean squat. I'd take Hill (whatever is going on with him) and Kerley with Keller over Holmes and Hill and Kerley. Revis is the sucker punch. Ryan has built this defense to be dependent on the D's best two players, and in particular Revis, a player he didn't have any part in bringing in. Now, with almost solely players that have been added under Ryan (and no one can tell me they don't honestly think Ryan approved or had the majority say in what defensive players came in) we'll see what this defense is made of. But so far they don't stop the run and Wilson is inadequate to stepping in as a starter, so I don't have much hope there.
If your performance declines, your boss notices. Factor in earlier performance, but most jobs base evaluations quarterly or yearly, so let's not act like the NFL shouldn't be any different.
