Jets are doing jets related things also... THE KNICKS.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 03:21 PM) You're not in NY. All the backpages are focused on Sanchez
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 03:21 PM) None of the NY media even mention Cruz or Nicks
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:40 PM) nicks isn't holding out. he's injured still and taking it easy. cruz is holding out. why it isn't a big ordeal IDK. it would be for us
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:02 PM) maybe because theyre not that far off.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:02 PM) Cruz wants to return back, they'll figure it out.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:41 PM) 3 mil a year off or 30% less then cruz wants. tahst alot of money to be off
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:41 PM) cruz doens't want to leave NY cause teh extra money he'll get in endorsements plus he knows taht they can RFA him this year and then Franchise next year so he might not be able to get a LTD for 3 years
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 05:21 PM) Clemens11/Tebow15 (soon to be Smith7) said if we had just drafted Crabtree and Nicks and kept Clemens, we'd be good.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) No, he can't be Smith7
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) his name is reserved for garbage QBs, we don't want Geno to be bad
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) He can be McElroy14
extmenace Icon : (Yesterday, 06:51 PM) we're taking bridgewater next year with the number 1 pick and treating geno like a jimmy clausen.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:53 PM) What makes Bridgewater better than Geno?
HurricaneJet32 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:12 PM) everything
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:56 PM) ^
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:16 PM) college players always get hyped up before the draft process, just wondering what makes him so much better.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:19 PM) Stronger arm, plays in a pro system, better throwing motion, better athlete
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:19 PM) there's probably nothing Geno does right now that's better than what Teddy does
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 10:25 PM) Wouldn't it be funny with Bridgewater ends up having the type of season Barkley had?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) better athlete but never runs as well
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) stronger arm but rarely throws deep
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) I am trying to find this article, but Bridgewater had about the least amount of 40+ throws in college football
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:49 AM) I wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't viewed as highly next year. College players always get hyped up a year before the draft process. People change their opinions quickly.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 07:56 AM) I'll put a good amount of money that Bridgewater is still highly regarded coming out next year.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) ok I found the chart
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) Bridgewater had 0% of his passes go 40+ yards in college
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) he could be, I'll wait though
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) I doubt Smith will be as bad as Clausen anyways
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) I remember watching Clausen in a NFL game and the guy couldn't even throw a spiral.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) Geno has been impressing teammates with how well he can spin the ball and sling it.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 08:31 AM) I hope Geno turns out to be a f***ing monster
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 10:52 AM) andrew luck was hyped up for like 3 years before he entered teh draft
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:34 AM) tehhhh
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:37 AM) it wasn't for 3 years and Andrew Luck is the best QB prospect to come out in years. Teddy Bridgewater most likely isn't Luck or RGIII
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:40 AM) I've only seen Bridgewater play once. That was against Florida, I actually watched that game.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 12:12 PM) Teddy will be a good NFL QB I think
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Today, 12:52 PM) THE KNICKS
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 01:21 PM) THE. KNICKS.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:43 PM) Geno was the favorite to win the Heisman this time last year
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:44 PM) He was also a Top 5 pick this time last year
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:44 PM) If he came out in 2012, he might have gotten drafted before RG3
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:56 PM) TEH KNICKS
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 03:25 PM) noway he would have been drafted before RGIII
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 04:00 PM) Tehhhh
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 04:12 PM) chuck norris said tebow is a great QB. i'm so conflicted becuase tebow sucks but on the other hand if chuck norris said it, it must be true lol

1st Drive: 11 Plays, 75 yards 4:44 TOP. 7-0 JETS
Sanchez was 2 of 5 for passing. Hill Dropped a long pass, The Pats held Keller on what would have been a TD (Penalty was called) and Shillins had a drop too.

2nd Drive: 3 and out 7-7
Sanchez is sacked and completes a pass shorrt of the 1st Down.

3rd Drive: 1 Play Safety
Sanchez kicks fumble out of the endzone. Damn Wilfort blew this play up.

4th Drive: 7 Plays 47 Yards, INT
Sanchez is 2 of 5 and badly underthrows Hill, could have been a TD, this is all on Sanchez. I do think Hill has to learn to adjust his route though. But if Sanchez doesnt pump fake to the left, he has a easier throw to a wide open Hill. Sanchez had a long completion to Kerley on this drice and a nice pass to Keller to convert a 3rd Down.

5th Drive: 12 Plays, 60 Yards, FG
Jets get the ball with 3:43 left and have a nice drive for a FG. But I wish we had better time management here, I know you dont want to give Bradt the ball back, but I think we were very lazy with a chance here to get a TD.
Sanchez is 6 for 9 on this drive.
End of half: NE16-Jets 10

6th Drive: 11 Plays, 66 Yards, FG
Sanchez is 3 of 4 on this drive and another quick slant on 3rd and 2. Pats knew it was coming and Schillins didnt catch the damn ball. This was mind boggling. 3rd and 2 from the 3, and we get an incomplete and kick the FG.....Where was the run game? Or even Tebow here? We left points on the field here, and this one is not on Sanchez.

7th Drive: 3 and out.
BS Holding call on a 15 yard scramble. Greene drops a throw in the flat, may have been a loss if he catches it.

8th Drive: 14 Plays, 91 Yards. TD
Sanchez is 9 of 10. Good drive after starting with a false start penalty. This was where Greene got KO'd. NE 23-Jets 20

9th Drive: 6 Plays, 40 yards, Game Tying FG.
Sanchez is 1 of 2. Drive ends on a drop by Hill. No at all on Sanchez. If Hill makes this catch, we at least have 1st and goal. Hill would have been 1 on 1 with the Safety.

10th Drive: 4 Plays -7 yards.
Sanchez is sacked here after no gainer from Tebow and a 2 yard run by McKnight. We kicked the FG to take a 3 point lead. Why you bring Tebow here, but not on 3rd and 2 from the 3 yard line?
We take the lead here with a FG.

11th Drive (OT): 5 Plays, 26 yards.
Sanchez obviously fumbles on 2nd down. I am going to check this one, but on 3rd and 5, we threw a deep route here to Hill, he was held at the LOS, and that was a 5 yard penalty. But I think it was a great call to get away from the slants here. But a great hold if you are a Pats fan.

Overall, I give Sanchez a B- on his performance. I think it was one of his better games. The INT is completely on him. The fumble in OT is on him to an extent, he is trying to make a play there and lost the ball.

See the problem here is that I was talking to a buddy of mine about the game the other day and said that sanchez "actually had a pretty decent game." I did not blame him for the loss but after talking about it more...it hit me. We are so used to mediocre QB play that when sanchez plays an average game, some of us jets fans consider it a good game. The expectations for sanchez is so low at this point, if he doesn't down right suck, everyone gives sanchez some credit. For a back up QB coming in after a starter goes down, or a first or 2nd year QB playing a really tough opponent...that's an an ok mentality. For a 4th year QB who was drafted 5th overall...not ok.

"I'm glad that the Gillette field was soft and messy
since I spent so much time down on it."-Tom Brady

Interesting point. But lets look at something here.

For the first 3 years of Sanchezs carear, his offensive coordinator was Brian Shottenhiemer. A OC that has a very complex offense, and the more I saw it, I was not impressed from QB view of it. I recall when Sanchez was taking us to the playoffs and Rex had taken over the offensive playcalling, Rex had a set of plays that he had that would limit Sanchezs mistakes as a young QB going into the playoffs. I really think that when we had a recievers like Edwards, Cothcery (it think Coles too) we were a run first team. We also were lucky to have one of the better offensive lines too. But with such a complex offense, Sanchez really struggled.

Now that OC is gone, and we have a new OC. I believe it takes time for these two to sinc up. Sporanno needs to develop on some of Sanchezs strenghts, but now we are not a run team, and we dont have quality recievers and we are asking a guy to learn a new system and do it without any continuity (minus Keller). During the game against the Pats, I saw Sanchez mis 2 wide open WRs on critical 2nd and 3rd down plays. He almost never looked to his left (where McKnight was standing alon) or to the right (where #87 was running also wide open). We have got to give this guy at least 2 season IMO, because he was drafted for the long haul. In this past game against the Pats, The INT was all on Sanchez. He recognized the coverage and then through the ball late. (I also think with some Chemistry with a WR, this may not happen, Sanchez may not realize the speed of Hill, and Hill doesnt recognize he needs to be able to make a play in that senareo based on the defense). If his sits down there instead of continueing, Sanchez probably has a completion. (If Hill doesnt deop the ball). I still think there is hope for Sanchez.
