Jetsfan0099 Icon : (17 May 2013 - 04:53 PM) Sounds like it may not be as bad with Goodson. I could see him ending up with a 4 game suspension for possession, the gun charges probably going to the other guy.

Jetsfan115 Icon : (17 May 2013 - 05:49 PM) i'd order a steak from idzik but he'd just give me a hamburger and try to pass it off as steak and when i cought him in the act he'd gie me a million dollars to make up for it

Jets top 10 salary cap hits next season

David Harris
Mark Sanchez
Santonio Holmes
Jason Smith
Calvin Pace
Antonio Cromartie
D'Brickashaw Ferguson
Nick Mangold
Darrelle Revis
Bart Scott

Out of those 10, 3 will be cut (Jason Smith, Calvin Pace, Bart Scott) resulting in roughly $4 million in dead money.

Who replaces those 3 to move into the top 10? Tim Tebow, Kyle Wilson, Quinton Coples

Source: http://nyjetscap.com/salary13.html

What this means is that in the top 10 next year: 1 "starting" QB, 1 backup QB who is "going to play a major role," 1 LB who seems to have lost a step, 1 prima donna WR that enjoys celebrating first downs while being down 20, and 1 hyped CB who just isn't working out.

Jets need help. And plenty of it.

Cromartie is the jets MVP this season. how can you say he's "not working out"
And if your talking about revis he's the best in the league and it makes that statement even dumber

Neither of them. I'm talking about Kyle Wilson, who will be in the top 10 next season. But now that you mention it, Jets will have 3 CBs in the top 10 next season as well. Any other team have that?

Did some more research:

Patriots 2012 Top 10 [in order of salary]

Wes Welker
Jerod Mayo (4)
Vince Wilfork (2)
Tom Brady (1)
Logan Mankins (3)
Aaron Hernandez (6)
Stephen Gostkowski (7)
Rob Gronkowski (9)
Dan Connolly (8)
Rob Ninkovich

Those in bold are going to be there in 2013 and the number in parenthesis is their ranking. Welker and Ninkovich are being replaced by Nate Solder (10) and Brandon Llyod (5).

I wish they would admit the obvious
1. That they aren't competitive
2. Their strategy over the past 2 seasons was flawed.

It's time to get rid of any fat contracts that they can move or get out of, start building through the draft while keeping FA signings to mainly low to mid salaried young players. No trading away picks for a while and concentrate on winning football games over selling tickets (Tebow trade). Oh, and one more thing, keep the mouth shut until there is a championship trophy with the jets name on it, then shut it back up. Do what the consistently good teams do and maybe we can become one of those teams.

Just my 2 cents.

his rookie deal puts him that high in year 4? wow. i assume we'll give him an extension and lower his number.

the thing about good teams is their high paid players are usually a stud QB and other pro bowl players. They also get high production out of young players on cheap rookie deals and solid cheap free agents. we don't get either. we have big money tied into average to below average players (pace, BT, sanchez, etc) and haven't got big prodcution out of any young cheap players with the exception of kerly who has been awesome but will likely get a raise next year. kerly is our offensive MVP this season
