How do you feel about the Lakers turning down the winningest coach in the NBA and going with D'Antoni? Do you think that Kobe is now the happiest player in the NBA because he finally found someone that will encourage him to take 50 shots per game?

Kobe's going to take 50 shots a game regardless since the best player on the team plays soft most of the time. The Lakers are the Phoenix Suns of Los Angeles now, except older and slower. But even with Phil it wouldn't have worked right away. Phil doesn't like true point guards like Nash in the triangle. There are only 3 players left from the 2010 team (Kobe, Gasol, and Artest). So all these new guys (especially the bench players) would have to learn the triangle without the benefit of a full training camp and preseason. Supposedly it's not an easy offense to learn. Personally I would've preferred Jerry Sloan if they weren't going to rehire Phil. But Jim Buss is basically like Woody Johnson, as long as Jack Nicholson is paying more for that court side seat, Jim Buss is happy.


But the Heat just won a championship with Erik Spolstra so that there shows even a blind squirrel can get a nut.
