We need to pick him up. 99 tackles and 5 sacks last season as the ILB in a 3-4... not sure why the Raiders are letting him go but he can take Bart Scott's place tomorrow.

Kyle Burger, a sports reporter/anchor at WVTM-TV, earlier tweeted that “(McClain) writes: ‘I’m gonna weigh my options. Looking forward to playing for an actual ‘team.’

Considering his legal problems, is McClain likely to see an NFL field much even if he is with a team?

He was found guilty of a misdemeanor. I doubt that he'll be heavily punished.

I believe he was the #8 overall. He wasn't a workout warrior either, he was highly productive at Alabama and won every award a LBer can win. Posted decent numbers in Oakland. I mean, he's not Patrick Willis but he'll be an upgrade over Bart Scott.

Too small to play next to Harris. Neither can shed blocks good enough.

Bart Scott's decline has been Harris' decline. And our D's.

I don't want Mcclain for different reasons. But I think Scott, THomas, and Pace's declines are all reasons for our front 7 sucking this season. When our run defense was good, Bart Scott was great at blowing up the run and BT/Pace were great at setting the edge. All of them are old and have been awful this season. All of them won't be on this team next season.
