The Bus was on WFAN and gave some really good insight into the Jets QB situation.
-Agreed with the decision to start Sanchez but said that the dynamic in practice has to change. They have to give McElroy more snaps with the first team offense to know which plays he is comfortable with if he does need to come into the game. Also, this will put Mark on notice that the team does have a Plan B if he keeps playing poorly.
-Blamed the FO for not surrounding Mark with veteran receivers. Also blamed the FO for letting the defense get old. Used the Steelers as an example. He said that before Big Ben got there, the Steelers had "mediocre" QBs but they always had a good defense and could always run the ball. Said that the Jets let the defense get old without developing the type of offense that could compensate for the extra points the defense is giving up.

I wouldnt say the defense is old. Once Pace, Scott and Thomas are gone after this season... Its a fairly young team for the most part. Bell and Sione will be the only 2 30+ year olds on the defense next year that I can think of. Thats if they are still on the team.

I think age is only part of the problem. When I see ed reed or london fletcher play I don't think oh man they are old.
I believe its more of being reactive instead of proactive and losing a step regardless of your age. Source: gholston
Team has to cycle those players out and refresh those positions.
