Titans have a five-day window from Feb. 4 until Feb. 9 in which they can cut Chris Johnson at no cost against their salary-cap. But if Johnson is on the Titans’ roster after Feb. 9, $9 million of his $10 million salary for the 2013 season will become guaranteed for injury.

I don't think that's true at all. He's been subject to heavy criticism the past few years. He's pretty much under the radar these days

Over 1,000 yards with a 5 YPC, better than anything we have.

He is a talented player on a poor team. Not worth the $9M a year right now. If he hits FA we would be foolish not to make a run at him. Greene is a FA next year and it would not only solidify the position but possibly give us back a pick since we would not need to draft one.

Johnson is a good back who thinks he is the best in the league. I'm fine with him being good, not okay with paying him close to what he thinks he is worth.

Talk about somebody falling off the face of the earth. I'd still like to see him in green and white though....as long as the price is right.

He hit 2k yards on a team that was heavily on the decline. The only thing relevant about the titans was cj2k.

he took advantage of his situation and pressed the team to pay him. can't say I blame him.

Imagine you're a Titans fan (not that Jets haven't overpaid guys for a season that player went above their ability). At the time the Titans still had a decent line. You have a great line, pay your Back. You don't have one, don't pay them.

What money? If he becomes a FA, that means the contract that he signed with the Titans is null and void and he's starting from scratch. We don't have to pay him $9M/year, we just pay him whatever the market dictates. If 3 teams are offering him $4M/year, and we offer $5M, he's a Jet.

Or if all anyone offers him is a bottle of RC cola we can offer him a Jones Cola!

If Johnson were a Jet and had the type of seasons he has had (all or nothing) recently people on here would already be talking about how bad of a signing he was and he is a trouble maker with too much ego who isn't worth his salary (and then say we should trade him for two first round picks).

Are you referring to the cap? Kinda an open ended question there. Again $9 mil is way over what his worth is. Tanny will make cap room he always does when he sees something that is right for us.
