SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:25 PM) I've read a ton of articles and all had him as the favorite
SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:25 PM) Who was the favorite then?
SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:27 PM) "Smith was already going to be on most Heisman preseason lists, but a 407-yard, 6-TD performance in the Orange Bowl win over Clemson only solidified him as an elite passer. He can make every throw on the field and has a plethora of talented receivers coming back. Since this team will likely be playing in the Big 12, which has had the uncanny knack for inflating quarterback numbers recently, Smith and head coach Dana Holgorsen are going to leave opposing defenses charred and crippled on most Saturdays."
SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:27 PM) That's from a Jan 2012 article
SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:27 PM) You can google shit from 14 months ago and find a f*** ton of these

SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:32 PM) He was 4th according to Vegas odds in April 2012
Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:53 PM) 4th makes him the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:53 PM) you said he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:53 PM) he wasn't anything near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:54 PM) he reached his pinnacle in the heisman race in the early part of last season
Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:54 PM) at that point he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:56 PM) also, what a basketball game
MikeGangGree... Icon : (24 May 2013 - 10:21 PM) 4 point game
MikeGangGree... Icon : (24 May 2013 - 10:21 PM) maybe the pacers are that good
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:36 AM) I said that his time last year, he was the favorite. I misspoke. He was 3rd or 4th. He certainly wasn't "not even in the 2nd tier" like you claimed
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:36 AM) Take your medicine Matty
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:36 AM) Maybe you should watch more college football instead of talking about watching college football
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:46 AM) No he wasn't 3rd or 4th
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:47 AM) He was the 4th favorite in vegas, making him no where near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:47 AM) Barkley had 3/2 odds, Geno was 9-1
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:48 AM) It's whatever
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:50 AM) Manish leaving jets beat
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:51 AM) About time
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 11:22 AM) Was he "not even in the 2nd tier"? No. STFU
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:25 AM) Was he the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:26 AM) Or even close to the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:27 AM) Nice Manish leaving? Good shit
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:43 AM) SHJ, your boy EJ leads a very sad life
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:57 AM) haha why do you say that
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:03 PM) I'm friends with SHJ on Facebook and I replied "TEH KNICKS" then EJ recognized my name and started commenting saying shit
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 PM) He then goes "yeah and f*** the Knicks" I wanted to tell him he doesn't know what that joke is because he's banned
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:05 PM) haha
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:05 PM) what a dick
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 01:55 PM) Yea i saw that about an hour after
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 01:55 PM) Very cringy
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 01:56 PM) He didn't bring anything to the table
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:38 PM) how can you say that? you supported the f*** out of him

Are they that inept they can't even rely on themselves to pick their own GM right?

If he really helped the Seahawks pick their GM, this might not be a bad move. The Seahawks are loaded with talent, their GM knows how to build a team.

These are the folks that gave us Goodell apparently.

http://www.kornferry...essRelease/3394

We fans may dislike Goodell but the people that hired him (the owners) love him. So this could be a good thing for us. I'll wait to see if Woody actually does fire or demote Tannenbaum and who replaces him before I'll pass judgement.

1-That dude is creepy.

2-This just tells me the team is going to hire some unproven guy to be GM. You don't need a talent recruiter to hire an established one.

Yeah...that's usually a good thing. All an "established guy" means is he has been fired before...a rehash.

Jets aren't the only team using outside help:

Quote

@@AdamSchefter - Chargers have hired former Packers GM Ron Wolf as a consultant to help on GM and HC searches for next month or two.

Who is so under the radar a franchise has to hire some international firm to find them? Are we going to bring in some unknown GM for the Singapore Slings?

The Seahawks would 100% disagree. Diversity in recruiting works great. Look around the corporate world and you will see alot of sucessfull big companies use recruiters to bring in quality people.

Recruiting an employee for a business is a lot different than recruiting someone to run a franchise in the NFL. There are 32 NFL teams an X amount of big time college programs. The business world is international. The Jets aren't going to bring in some Russian Hockey GM to run the team.

No its not. The same people will be intervied either way. The benifit is we will see others open minded point of view instead of Woodys opinion. If this did not work other teams would not do this as well with sucess. Seahawks Falcons and Saints all used services simular to this. For some reason some people on this board think we should not use every tool availible to us. It sounds like they are just looking for something to complain about.

You seem to like to add hyperbole to your statements to prove some kind of point but no one said anything about russia.

Two teams doing something doesn't mean it is effective. NO got a good HC, a bad conference, and won a SB and that is it. Seattle has had a good season so whatever they do works? Hiring an outside consultant firm is what you do when your Woody Johnson and you know dick about sports.

I like to use hyperbole because I get tired of people not using facts to support their argument.

Do you really think that owners have no idea what they are doing? Why does it hurt to have a firms outside opinion? You do understand the Jets final say right? It would seem it would be more stupid not to use one no matter how much someone knows. The more info we have the better. Seems like you are just on a tirade to bad mouth our team.

I am not sure what you are tying to say but being rich has nothing to do with this other than you seem to have a problem with them. Jealous much?

I don't see what being an owner has to do with knowing anything. Woody Johnson hired a firm and the people they are publicly looking at so far are all "names." All I see is an owner who doesn't have any more knowledge than a lot of fans and who was fortunate enough to be rich. This isn't some ancient football family like the Giants or Steelers have. When Woody starts making decisions that either I agree with or that succeed I will give him more respect. The last four years all I see is a team that squandered what talent it had with bad coaching and threw in a bunch of big name players to draw attention. Yuck.

So I said I'd respect him when he did something I agreed with or when the ream succeeded. What should I base my respect on? Randomly decide with a coin flip?

Since when did you start trolling without reading posts, or did EJ hack your account?
