SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:25 PM) I've read a ton of articles and all had him as the favorite
SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:25 PM) Who was the favorite then?
SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:27 PM) "Smith was already going to be on most Heisman preseason lists, but a 407-yard, 6-TD performance in the Orange Bowl win over Clemson only solidified him as an elite passer. He can make every throw on the field and has a plethora of talented receivers coming back. Since this team will likely be playing in the Big 12, which has had the uncanny knack for inflating quarterback numbers recently, Smith and head coach Dana Holgorsen are going to leave opposing defenses charred and crippled on most Saturdays."
SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:27 PM) That's from a Jan 2012 article

Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:53 PM) 4th makes him the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:53 PM) you said he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:53 PM) he wasn't anything near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:54 PM) he reached his pinnacle in the heisman race in the early part of last season

SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:36 AM) I said that his time last year, he was the favorite. I misspoke. He was 3rd or 4th. He certainly wasn't "not even in the 2nd tier" like you claimed

SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:36 AM) Maybe you should watch more college football instead of talking about watching college football
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:46 AM) No he wasn't 3rd or 4th
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:47 AM) He was the 4th favorite in vegas, making him no where near the favorite

So what do you guys think? there are 2 options for the new GM. They can cut the obvious players to save money (smith, scott, pace, BT,) and use that to sign some guys. Keep sanchez for the cap room and try to comete in 2013 or They can blow up the roster. Trade revis for 2 1st round pick and run with cro and wilson, trade harris for a 2nd rounder, release sanchez eat the dead money and use the extra picks, start the rookies to give them a year exp and look to 2014 when the dead money will be gone and we'll have a bunch of cap room and can sign FAs

Also on QB veteran options of no sanchez who would you want?

Blow up the roster? Yeah I would like that but you can't just get rid of guys and take on that dead money. I would try to compete next season, if you can get a veteran QB and add a few playmakers on offense, along with fixing the LBs we may be able to. Release the guys that you can. Try to get rid of Sanchez.

Matter of fact you know what team in the NFL has the most dead money this season?
Its the colts and they are in the playoffs. and next year they have room to spend

DAM I had a long post with incite & wisdom & POOFED it! So he goes again
<br style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 14px; text-align: center;">Mike DeVito Braylon Edwards Laron Landry Brandon Moore Matt Slauson Yeremiah Bell Nick Folk Shonn Greene Lex Hilliard Dustin Keller Chaz Schilens Bryan Thomas

UFA: Green I would KEEP, yellow I would make on cost & red are outta here.
My opinion...I would think LONG & HARD if someone is giving me 2 1's for Revis. I got a man crush on Revis, but here are the facts:He can & WILL hold out. he is a Corner like no other in the league, but coming back off injury & will want top flight $ even though he stole his $ this season cause he hasnt been here. He can SAY he wants whats best for the team, but he is about business...HIS business. So he may have already played his last game as a Jet anyway. (if it were a TEAM player like Jimmy Leonard...I would feel VERY different about his intent) In this draft, unless there is a STUD cant miss player at LB or the OLine, I would like to move back & stock up. We havent done that since Parcels. RBs seem to be all over the draft. If we put our scouts feet to the fire, they may be able to find a talent in late rounds (like Washington did with theirs) but I know thats easier said then done. This draft seems LB strong, so we should be able to restock our LB core & add some SORELY needed depth. D.Davis was said to be the next great LB...so lets get him out there more.

I think anyone here would take that in a heartbeat. The guys that wouldn't need to slap themselves. Two 1sts can set up our OL for the next decade, one DB is not going to get you to the playoffs, let alone the SB. Out of the 10 games that we lost, how many would we have won if Revis had been out there? None. Our pass defense was still stoic.

Why do poll questions always sway the answer. Not just this one but in general all over. The questions should be "Do we need to rebuild? Yes or No" All the other stuff in there is showing opinion or swaying an answer.
