Jets are doing jets related things also... THE KNICKS.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 03:21 PM) You're not in NY. All the backpages are focused on Sanchez
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 03:21 PM) None of the NY media even mention Cruz or Nicks
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:40 PM) nicks isn't holding out. he's injured still and taking it easy. cruz is holding out. why it isn't a big ordeal IDK. it would be for us
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:02 PM) maybe because theyre not that far off.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:02 PM) Cruz wants to return back, they'll figure it out.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:41 PM) 3 mil a year off or 30% less then cruz wants. tahst alot of money to be off
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:41 PM) cruz doens't want to leave NY cause teh extra money he'll get in endorsements plus he knows taht they can RFA him this year and then Franchise next year so he might not be able to get a LTD for 3 years
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 05:21 PM) Clemens11/Tebow15 (soon to be Smith7) said if we had just drafted Crabtree and Nicks and kept Clemens, we'd be good.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) No, he can't be Smith7
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) his name is reserved for garbage QBs, we don't want Geno to be bad
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) He can be McElroy14
extmenace Icon : (Yesterday, 06:51 PM) we're taking bridgewater next year with the number 1 pick and treating geno like a jimmy clausen.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:53 PM) What makes Bridgewater better than Geno?
HurricaneJet32 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:12 PM) everything
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:56 PM) ^
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:16 PM) college players always get hyped up before the draft process, just wondering what makes him so much better.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:19 PM) Stronger arm, plays in a pro system, better throwing motion, better athlete
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:19 PM) there's probably nothing Geno does right now that's better than what Teddy does
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 10:25 PM) Wouldn't it be funny with Bridgewater ends up having the type of season Barkley had?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) better athlete but never runs as well
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) stronger arm but rarely throws deep
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) I am trying to find this article, but Bridgewater had about the least amount of 40+ throws in college football
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:49 AM) I wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't viewed as highly next year. College players always get hyped up a year before the draft process. People change their opinions quickly.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 07:56 AM) I'll put a good amount of money that Bridgewater is still highly regarded coming out next year.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) ok I found the chart
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) Bridgewater had 0% of his passes go 40+ yards in college
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) he could be, I'll wait though
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) I doubt Smith will be as bad as Clausen anyways
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) I remember watching Clausen in a NFL game and the guy couldn't even throw a spiral.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) Geno has been impressing teammates with how well he can spin the ball and sling it.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 08:31 AM) I hope Geno turns out to be a f***ing monster
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 10:52 AM) andrew luck was hyped up for like 3 years before he entered teh draft
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:34 AM) tehhhh
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:37 AM) it wasn't for 3 years and Andrew Luck is the best QB prospect to come out in years. Teddy Bridgewater most likely isn't Luck or RGIII
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:40 AM) I've only seen Bridgewater play once. That was against Florida, I actually watched that game.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 12:12 PM) Teddy will be a good NFL QB I think
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Today, 12:52 PM) THE KNICKS
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 01:21 PM) THE. KNICKS.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:43 PM) Geno was the favorite to win the Heisman this time last year
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:44 PM) He was also a Top 5 pick this time last year
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:44 PM) If he came out in 2012, he might have gotten drafted before RG3
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:56 PM) TEH KNICKS
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 03:25 PM) noway he would have been drafted before RGIII
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 04:00 PM) Tehhhh
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 04:12 PM) chuck norris said tebow is a great QB. i'm so conflicted becuase tebow sucks but on the other hand if chuck norris said it, it must be true lol

Twitter has their remarks but there is what Cimini blogged this morning:

Quote

Silence of the lambs

The Jets still aren't talking.

Neither Rex Ryan nor owner Woody Johnson will address the media Wednesday, according to a team spokesman. No reason was given.

Ryan hasn't addressed the media since Sunday's loss in Buffalo and Johnson has talked publicly since the team was 3-6. Johnson released a five-paragraph statement Monday morning, firing GM Mike Tannenbaum and retaining Ryan.

Clearly, something fishy is going on.

If Ryan doesn't speak by Friday, the Jets will be in violation of the league's media policy. The policy, created in conjunction with the Pro Football Writers of America, states that the head coach and a team official (owner, GM, president, etc.) must be made available to the media during the week after the season ends.

What's going on at One Jets Drive? Two possibilities: Management is muzzling Ryan until a new GM is hired or Ryan is so ticked off at the current situation (Tannenbaum fired, Tony Sparano status, etc.) that he refuses to speak.

What, you thought the circus would end when the games stopped?

Manish's remarks on Twitter:

Quote

@MMehtaNYDN Jets are a well-oiled machine: Coach & owner have yet to talk about firing a man who worked for team for 15 yrs or reportedly fired OC #nyj

@MMehtaNYDN Rex Ryan's silence isn't linked to his future with Jets, I'm told. He's under the impression he will remain #NYJ head coach regardless of GM

@MMehtaNYDN Rex Ryan is as responsible for Jets' failures as Tannenbaum. But Rex cleverly distanced himself from mistakes. Column: http://nydn.us/U7DTb4

@MMehtaNYDN Make no mistake: Rex Ryan does not want Tony Sparano back as the offensive coordinator. Of course, he hand-picked TS a year ago. #nyj

I can't stand these 2, I wish they would get lost and we can get some professional journalist. The good ones always leave us, like Jenny Vrentas.

when they talk, it's a circus but when they're silent it's an issue too...GTFO with this nonsense

Besides, when Manish tweets about issues that are supposed to be off the record why does he expect the team to talk to him?

I never thought I'd see the day the media complained Rex isn't talking enough
Sal Paolantonio commenting on the difference in the Ryan and Mangini atmospheres in the building:
"It's like going from Alcatraz to Dorney Park."

Jets are, in fact, in violation of NFL media policy re: head coach availability after season, per document sent to me by Greg Aiello #nyj]

Jets will have a presser on January 8th. They're now on violation of league rules. They should of come out and say something to the fans. Forget the media. the FANS. Rex is shooked. Maybe he's feeling are hurt over Tanny being gone. Sparanno is still here. Its going to be slim when its time to pick a staff. Waiting on thier asses and let the whoever the future GM job's harder. Hoping Rex resigned on Tuesday. We're The ass of the league as usual.

Its most likely not Rex's call, he was probably told by the Jets PR to get away for a while. The Jets have a firm conducting a GM search right now, they may have even told the Jets to shut up while they conduct this search. From all indications, Rex's job is safe and this has nothing to do with him possibly being fired.

I wish Manish Mehta would be silent for a week.

Who gives a shit?

That's exactly right. When you tweet and report things that were supposed to be confidential, unless you *fabricated sources and quotes, manish*, you should expect to NEVER be given a scoop again

stability begins in quietly doing your business. silence is golden and this new jet approach should have been this way from the get go. you have the jets picking 9th in the draft yet those organizations have yet to be stigmatized the way the jets have. when you win rex's mouth is tolerable, but when you lose rex's bravado hurts the team and people turn on you.

rex has been forced to tone it down due to the last 2yrs. of mediocrity. jet fans should hope that woody, rex and the jets now keep this demeanor and just handle business. the media can go to hell, as you can see that the jets are damned if they do or damned if they don't.

Agreed, and hopefully this is the start of a more professional and serious image being presented in public. Rex's brash persona is fine at times, but there are limits and situations - such as when your team is in the midst of an ugly season - when saying little is better than providing easy back page leads for journalists. Let them have to work for the story.
