santana Icon : (Yesterday, 11:59 PM) yeah but hes white and a patriot
santana Icon : (Today, 12:00 AM) goodell is busy banning handbags from stadiums
santana Icon : (Today, 12:00 AM) this country is priming its self for a massive protest this handbag shit is retarded
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:01 AM) They are so f***ing stupid
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:01 AM) Like people need more reasons to stay at home for the game
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) Honestly, at this point, the only way I'd go to an NFL game was A. Free tickets B. Tickets were close enough to the field that I felt like I could heckle a player and be heard
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) its not stupid its actually genius
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) the problem is i know for sure the evil genius behind it is dan snyder and other owners pushing for this shit
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) they want their new stadiums to inhale your money from the minute you enter its zipcode
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) Genius in the sense that you force people to spend more money
santana Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) right
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) Baseball stadiums started doing this since right after 9/11
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) I used to go to Mets games as a kid with a subway hero
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) Now I gotta drop $30 for a burger with fries
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) You know what I do? Not go to the fuckin games LOL
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) And it's not just me because the Mets suck, Yankees can't sell out anymore at all
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) Shit, even Mets vs Yankees wasn't sold out
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) That never happened in the 90s
santana Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) ghetto fries
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) whats amusing is at nationals stadium the staff is the worst
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) they don't give a shit
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) specially sunday morning
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) How so?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) Do they make you watch the Nationals?
santana Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) every time they handed me my food or what not then i had to go to the register to pay i just walked away because the queue was too long
santana Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) people running the registers just go super slow
santana Icon : (Today, 12:07 AM) no one there is in charge of making sure the customers are following the process
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) Wait, you pay after you get your food?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) How does that even work?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) Everywhere you pay when you place your order
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) well its decided getting some booze tomorrow afternoon and drinking every time i head lebron's head band referenced
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) like i said the concession stands are a mess
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) You might die
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) there were multiple people behind the counter
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) so you could just go up to it and ask for what you wanted and 1 out of the 5 people would be on a single register
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) so eventually you were just handed your food
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) expecting for someone to approach the register you were standing infront to charge you
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) or you were led to believe maybe you had to go line up to the one that had a cashier with people already waiting on it
santana Icon : (Today, 12:14 AM) so a lot of the times when i was just handed the food i requested i would stand there look around see them go back to being distracted on their boost mobile phones or whatever reason and walked away
santana Icon : (Today, 12:14 AM) i got 6 pretzels like this for the group i was with and 3 hot dogs
santana Icon : (Today, 12:15 AM) my ticket one time had like 5$ towards concessions or what not their scanner wasnt working at the register so it wasnt reading it right or she didnt know what she was doing. she tried to scan it 3 times then litterally just turned away so i was standing there asking if it was all good no one answered so i just walked away with the food
santana Icon : (Today, 12:18 AM) probably doesn't help that they are hiring people from one of the worst parts of dc
santana Icon : (Today, 12:19 AM) in fact all the stadiums in dc are in very low income areas probably to exploit this work force
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:31 AM) No stadiums are in low income areas because that's how they get municipal bonds to finance construction. "Look, we're giving black people jobs! Pay for our stadium!!!"
santana Icon : (Today, 12:32 AM) right

Rex Ryan's bizarre tattoo of wife's likeness with Mark Sanchez jersey makes him a marked man as NY Jets coach

This classic work of art could affect Ryan’s credibility with his players. Will they tease him about it? Will they be jealous of Sanchez? Will they think of Sanchez as the teacher’s pet? Couldn’t Ryan have expressed his ever-lasting love for the Jets with just a generic green jersey without a number? What was he thinking?

Rex Ryan’s loyalty to Mark Sanchez may not be set in stone, but it is etched in ink.

From the category of “you just can’t make this stuff up,” Ryan will carry Sanchez around with him for the rest of his life. It will be too painful to get rid of him, as much as that may pain Jets fans.

The embattled Jets coach was photographed by the Daily News on Thursday at The Atlantis in the Bahamas lounging by the pool reading a book.

So far, so good.

He was shirtless, which is what people do when it’s 82 degrees.

The photo revealed an interesting tattoo on Ryan’s right arm. Just below a shamrock surrounded by the names of his sons Payton and Seth and his wife Michelle, is a drawing of a blonde-haired lady bearing a striking resemblance to Michelle wearing Sanchez’s No. 6 green jersey and nothing else.

Obviously, there was another reason Ryan was reluctant to play Tim Tebow this season aside from Tebow’s inability to throw a forward pass. Who wants to go through having the No. 6 replaced by No. 15? Maybe if Tebow played better, Ryan would have displayed him on his left arm.

Even Ryan knows better than to get a Greg McElroy tattoo.

Okay, make all the jokes you want, but the issue now is how this plays out in the Jets locker room. How does Sanchez feel about his coach having a tattoo with his jersey being worn by the coach’s wife, who is wearing nothing else, permanently drawn on his coach’s arm?

This classic work of art could affect Ryan’s credibility with his players. Will they tease him about it? Will they be jealous of Sanchez? Will they think of Sanchez as the teacher’s pet? Couldn’t Ryan have expressed his ever-lasting love for the Jets with just a generic green jersey without a number?

What was he thinking?

Perhaps Mark Sanchez and his teammates already know about the tat.

Maybe there has been a time Ryan has walked through the locker room wearing just a towel after a game, but the coaches usually shower and change in their own locker room following practices and games. Ryan doesn’t wear sleeveless shirts to practice, so the ever-watchful media have never been privy to this ode to Sanchez.

Sanchez, who is guaranteed $8.25 million in 2013 and just had a miserable season, is expected to remain with the Jets if for no other reason than they are stuck with his contract. Even though Jets owner Woody Johnson said Ryan will be back next season, his status still appears tenuous with a new general manager coming in. Unless there is a huge personality conflict with the new boss, Ryan will probably be back.

So will his tattoo.

In more than 30 years covering the NFL, I can say with certainty that I know of no other coach who honored his quarterback with a tattoo of his wife dressed in the player’s jersey. Tom Landry, who I got to know very well in the eight years I worked in Dallas and covered the Cowboys, loved his wife Alicia more than words can describe, but he never commissioned a tattoo artist to dress her up in Roger Staubach’s uniform top and place her on his right arm. I am pretty sure Tom Coughlin does not have a similar tattoo of his wife Judy in Eli Manning’s blue No. 10.

Ryan made headlines at the opening of training camp in 2011 when he showed up with an elaborate tattoo on his right calf that he had done while on vacation in Hawaii. He said it was not his first tattoo, but it probably preceded the Sanchez tattoo.

Ryan posted a six-second video on the Jets’ Facebook page to explain the meaning of the 2011 tattoo. “My new tat means, believe in yourself, which I got no problem doing,” Ryan said.

Ryan took off for the Bahamas on Wednesday and has yet to comment since GM Mike Tannenbaum — who, along with Johnson, hired him — was fired on Monday. The Jets are expected to begin interviews for a new GM on Friday. Ryan and Johnson will hold their postseason news conference on Tuesday.

The tattoo does make sense in one regard. In expressing last week that the Jets are the only team he wants to coach, Ryan said, “Let’s face it. I wear Jets stuff every single day, every day.”

Clearly, he was not kidding.

It’s hard to tell by the picture what book Ryan is reading. I should be insulted he’s not reading my book, “Coaching Confidential,” considering the last chapter is titled, “The Joy Of Rex.” But Ryan told me in his office in November that he had already read an advance copy.

I wish I knew about the tattoo when I wrote the book. It could have been a chapter by itself: Coach’s wife dressed only in quarterback’s jersey in a tattoo on the coach’s right arm.

Even with the Jets, you can’t make this stuff up.

Few points:

1) I really really hate NYDN. Why are they stalking a NFL coach on vacation?
2) Reading this article was like reading something on TMZ
3) What the hell Rex?!?!
4) :banghead:

Linking and sending readers to that article only promotes that crap. Ignore it and the media won't stalk NFL coaches on vacation.

I know he has a right to privacy, but damn this is weird.
Fifteen years ago after an especially disappointing loss to Miami, Esiason, then the Jets' quarterback, was making the seven-mile drive from the Meadowlands back to Manhattan.
While he was slogging through stop-and-go traffic at the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, the car next to him was violently rear-ended. The quarterback threw his car into park, hopped out and ran to the woman whose car had been hit. She was wearing, of all things, an Esiason jersey, and was utterly shocked when he tapped on her window to check on her.
"Are you OK?" he said, trying to keep calm. "Are you OK?"
"Boomer? Is that you?" she asked the Good Samaritan, sounding disoriented. "I think I'm OK, but . ... "
But what?
"But you guys sucked."
Welcome to the New York Jets, Tim Tebow.

I'm pretty sure any employer would deem this inappropriate. I don't have any tattoos of my wife wearing my employees clothing.

Imagine what the tat of Scott and his wife is like.

Whats more wierd, is the I don't think it's a #6. The Jersey is hanging off her shoulder, and it looks like there might be a "1" in front of the "6". Is Rex Ryan a huge Brad Smith fan? LMFAO

This has to be fake. Someone had to of photo shopped this. I just can't see any head coach in the NFL doing something like this.

"I'm glad that the Gillette field was soft and messy
since I spent so much time down on it."-Tom Brady

The tattoo is newsworthy and worth discussing, but this whole tactic felt like sour grapes on NYDN's behalf. My goal would have been to get a reaction from him on the tattoo, to discuss the motivation behind it, instead of trying to embarrass him while he's away from the city altogether. That's TMZ shit. NY sports reporting is devolving into a gossip column. The effort to paint this team like a circus is a reaction to not getting actual team news; they ignored it while they got funny clips and bites, and now that it's dead, they're trying to manufacture it.

Rex finally showed us how much of a baffoon he really is. Where they do this at
Like I said before, we're the ass of the NFL. Unreal...

I hope they ask him on Tuesday about this tatoo

Normally I would just write this tattoo off as nothing and I do believe that everyone has a right to their privacy.

But with the fact that Rex refused to bench Sanchez for so long after pretty much the whole nation and almost all Jets fans were screaming for it I kind of wonder if Rex had personal reasons.

First I thought it was odd that Rex hugged Sanchez on the field after benching him.You generally dont see head coaches do that. Its possible Rex thinks of Sanchez like a son and refused bench Mark because he thinks of him like family.

Next I hate guessing and am not trying to start a rumor and again people have a right towards their privacy but the one tattoo is slightly an erotic nature of his wife and that makes me remember the news posted a few years a go that showed a profile thought to be of Rex and his wife on a swinging site.

Its possible that the profile wasn't Rex`s but their were so many similarities it was hard to dismiss. If Rex did swing I could care less...its his sex life. But because of the nature of the tattoo I cant help but think that maybe its possible Rex had Mark over for dinner a couple times......

I will leave it at that. All I know is I'm really starting to think Rex shouldn't be a head coach at all. You cant have loyalties towards players as a head coach and Rex obviously does.

Ugh, like as if the circus couldn't get weirder and weirder lol. I mean I would honestly never think twice of it, IF the team wasn't in shambles, but like you said ROB, I have reason to believe to that Rex may actually have some "personal" reasons for the tattoo. Either way it's incredibly bizzarre to say the least, and just very weird to look at in all honesty.

How is this not a story? If a manager in an office did this it would be a fireable offense. The media doesn't have to manufacture stories with the Jets. People want to act like this isn't a profession, but it is. Teams need to hold coaches to the standard any other business would hold a manager to.

What a person has tattooed on their body is their own business, as long as it is covered up in the workplace. He was on his own time out on vacation and someone with nothing better to do than stalk him took a picture of him, his personal life has nothing to do with the business.
