SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:25 PM) I've read a ton of articles and all had him as the favorite
SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:25 PM) Who was the favorite then?
SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:27 PM) "Smith was already going to be on most Heisman preseason lists, but a 407-yard, 6-TD performance in the Orange Bowl win over Clemson only solidified him as an elite passer. He can make every throw on the field and has a plethora of talented receivers coming back. Since this team will likely be playing in the Big 12, which has had the uncanny knack for inflating quarterback numbers recently, Smith and head coach Dana Holgorsen are going to leave opposing defenses charred and crippled on most Saturdays."
SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:27 PM) That's from a Jan 2012 article
SecondHandJets Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:27 PM) You can google shit from 14 months ago and find a f*** ton of these

Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:53 PM) 4th makes him the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:53 PM) you said he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:53 PM) he wasn't anything near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (24 May 2013 - 09:54 PM) he reached his pinnacle in the heisman race in the early part of last season

SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:36 AM) I said that his time last year, he was the favorite. I misspoke. He was 3rd or 4th. He certainly wasn't "not even in the 2nd tier" like you claimed
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:36 AM) Take your medicine Matty
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:36 AM) Maybe you should watch more college football instead of talking about watching college football
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:46 AM) No he wasn't 3rd or 4th
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:47 AM) He was the 4th favorite in vegas, making him no where near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:47 AM) Barkley had 3/2 odds, Geno was 9-1
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:48 AM) It's whatever

THIS SEASON!! and yea...many of you know I've been down on Sanch since day 1 but after the butt fumble? fuhgettaboutit. Wont waste another key stroke talking about his pathetic ass and I won't say I told you so. I think it's been pretty self explanatory till this point.

I've seen some bad Jets years seasons but to me this was excruciating because I knew this was going to happen. All the fluff Rexy spewed out over the 4 years, the cap hell and musical chairs with Tannenbaum. The Tim Tebow signing. I knew we were doomed from the onset and for the record. I'm no Tebow fan but what the Jets did to his career is inexcusable. This organization has no class and if you ask me their a bunch of buffons, incapable of anything competent. Their owned by a figure head who has ulterior motives and plans for this organization and I don't like it. It's revolting. As someone who has followed this team under a microscope diligently over the last 10 year I can honestly say I could care less who they hire as a GM. I don't give two f*cks about the GM search and never cared to follow. SHOW ME SOMETHING OF SOME SUBSTANCE. Until then I'm following this sorry excuse for a franchise from the perimeter. I can't stomach this trash.

These Jets are a complete joke. Rex NEEEEEEEEEEDS!!!! a GM and people around him who "run the show" and just let the knucklehead coach. Just like in Baltimore. He just coached and the higher ups did what they felt was appropriate at the time as he was coaching whoever the org brought in. Rex is just a coach that is it. Maybe just a coordinator.

This team has made so many awful decisions and drafted so damn poorly its almost embarrassing.

This has been the 1st time in 15-17 years I've been so disjointed with this team and the funny thing is. I just don't give a damn. Sick of the bullshit.

I needed a mental break from this team.

Well I'm refreshed and interested to see what we do with the draft. Let me see some moves that show some sort of "football sense".. Lets can the Mexican and the move on. (obviously easier said then done because of HORRIBLE management) but this team needs to be reinvigorated with fresh young faces and legs.

How has Pace and especially Bryan Thomas been here for so long? Think about that?

It's bad. I hope the Jets are up to task because it is going to take HARD work and the grace of God to right this ship.

I'll man up and admit you were right and I was wrong. You saw the emperor can't complete a pass and I was looking at his robes through green goggles.

been watching these boys since the late 70's.
my advice from experience is, it's just a game.
live your life and don't let a game dictate it.
long suffering jet fans know what i'm saying.

Not to be done on you brother but I for one am disappointed in you and felt betrayed. I know others did to because many questioned why you weren't around. It was like treason.

From being one of the most active members to just deserting us totally is bad. Why would you go into a shell? Did you visit the site and not post or not even come around?

I kind of took it a little personal. Id feel that way about any of the regulars that are die hard`s and post a good bit if they deserted suddenly. Its just something you shouldn't do imo. Its like a marriage. As a true die hard fan you stick with your team through thick and thin through the good times as well as the bad times. Only band wagon fans desert their team.

Not everyone is a regular poster and that is all good. Hell Im not much for conversation really and I only post on a couple of sites and am not into the chat thing but as a die hard Jets fan Im not going to desert even if all I'm doing is bitching.

I could've understood a little break but you deserted like half the season or more....that's bad.

Hell I even posted I might desert the site because I was hating too but I couldn't do it.If any of the Jets players visit the site I'm sure they appreciate the regulars here so yeah I feel betrayed.

I feel you though about the team. I feel this was one of the worst Jets seasons ever...even worse than the 1-15 season. Not because of the record but because of this team literally becoming a joke to the whole league.

I mean in two years Rex has went from being a coach that almost every player in the NFL wanted to play for to being a laughing stock.

And hell that tattoo thing has everyone wondering....is Sanchez like a son to Rex? A good friend? Is it just that him and his wife think Sanchez has a good heart and it was their way of supporting him? Or was it some kinky crap? Rex is kinky and there is nothing wrong with that because to me if you have a happy sex life with your wife that is great and Rex may have used to swing or whatever but that is their personal life and as long as they are happy all the power to them. That said.....if the Sanchez tattoo thing had some kinky crap too it like Sanchez swinging with them then I do have a problem with that because Rex has a standard as a head coach to uphold and he clearly isn't doing that. Also the matter of Rex refusing to bench Mark makes it even worse.

As far as Sanchez I don't know if you should feel refreshed yet. There is a good chance he will be starting next season. I know most of the fans are now seeing that Sanchez doesn't have it but you also left me here to fight the Sanchez fans alone most of the season.....f*cked up bro. How could you man???

Also as far as you being refreshed....unless we find a really good qb or luck into one of these instant elite rookie qb`s that can do a lot on his own this team is probably 3 years or more away from having a chance of contending.

Jets have a lot of rebuilding to do with getting rid of old players and finding good players through the draft and free agency. This team has way to many below average, average, and over the hill players so the chances of doing anything soon are slim.

As far as Rex I haven't given up on Rex as a coach but I do think unless this team makes some noise next season he will be gone. he might do a lot of stupid stuff but I do think if he was given the right players and the right qb he could be a good head coach. It wasn't that long a go when players were ready to run through brick walls for him. Bad thing for him though with all the stupid crap he has done and with the way this team has plunged it may be a while before he gets another head coaching gig if ever if he loses this one. Still though I think he gets a bad rap in a way because he had very little impact in bringing in players. He said himself before he got one pick a year. The rest were all Tanny. You cant contend without good players. My biggest beef with Rex is the loyalty to Sanchez and refusal to bench him.
