Prior to joining Ole Miss, Lee was the quarterbacks coach for the Miami Dolphins from 2008-2010 and played a vital role in reintroducing and transforming the Wildcat offense at the pro level. The Wildcat formation accounted for more than 1,000 plays and produced 15 plus touchdowns. Lee also guided the emergence of QB Chad Henne and Chad Pennington.

In 2008, Pennington was voted the NFL Comeback Player of the Year and a runner-up for NFL Player of the Year.

As Arkansas’ offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach in 2007, Lee presided over a Razorbacks offense ranked 12th in points per game (38.8) and 18th in yards per game (457.4) – both marks set school records. Arkansas threw 24 touchdown passes and only 10 interceptions.

In 2003, Lee entered the NFL as the Dallas Cowboys offensive quality control/QB coach. For four seasons, Lee helped develop Tony Romo from an undrafted college free agent in 2003 to a Pro Bowl selection in 2006. In Lee’s four years in Dallas, three different Cowboys signal-callers threw for 3,000 yards in a single season.

As an assistant coach/quarterbacks coach in 2001-02, Lee contributed to an Arkansas team that appeared in the Cotton Bowl and won the 2002 SEC Western Division title and advanced to the SEC Championship Game.

Lee served seven seasons at Rice University (1994-2000) as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. During his tenure, Rice produced six of the school’s top rushing totals, including a school-record 332.7 yards-per-game average in 1997. Rice ranked in the top 10 nationally in rushing three times in his tenure.

From 1989-1993, he was the head coach at Texas-El Paso before moving on to Rice as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 1994.

Lee coached quarterbacks and fullbacks at Arkansas from 1984-1988 and helped direct Razorback teams to a 45-15-1 record with five consecutive bowl appearances.

Promoted to offensive coordinator in 1988, Lee helped engineer Arkansas’s first Southwest Conference championship in nine years and first outright league title since 1965. The 1988 offensive unit committed just 11 turnovers in 11 games and led the nation in turnover ratio while featuring a pair of All-SWC sophomores.

Lee began his coaching career in 1975 at Tennessee-Martin where he tutored quarterbacks and receivers for two seasons while organizing the first Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at UTM.

He spent the 1977 season as quarterbacks coach at his alma mater Vanderbilt before his first tenure at Ole Miss (1978-82). In 1983, Lee served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at New Mexico.

Throughout his college coaching career, nine of his quarterbacks were drafted or signed free-agent deals for the NFL.



PERSONAL

A three-year letterman at Vanderbilt, Lee served as team captain and was named the team’s most valuable player in 1974 after quarterbacking the Commodores to a 7-3-2 record, including a 24-10 upset of No. 5 Florida. Lee was voted SEC Player of the Week by the Associated Press after leading Vanderbilt to its first win over the Gators in 15 years.

Lee went on to lead the SEC in passing and guided his team to a 6-6 tie with Texas Tech in the Peach Bowl. That same season, Lee served as president of Vanderbilt’s FCA chapter. Lee earned an undergraduate degree in history from Vanderbilt in 1975.

A native of Dexter, Mo., Lee played high school football at Woodham High School in Pensacola, Fla., where he graduated in 1971. Lee is married to the former Lynne Kazanowski. The couple has four children - daughters Dana and Shannon, and sons Brian and Jordan.

I hope to hell they still aren't delusional about developing Sanchez. I cant believe even some fans are still deluded. The guy is a bust and always has been. I really don't get that he played one year of college on a with a running team and some fans think that what he did will translate to the NFL. Qb`s in college have made college record books and been anywhere #1 picks to top ten picks and been some of the worst NFL qb`s ever. College is and never will be anything like the NFL. The NFL is the best of the best. Because mark was able to be a little mobile in college doesn't mean he can be in the NFL. Even if he does start rolling out more his accuracy sucks and he has no sense of game speed and timing so it wont help him much.

If Sanchez was going to be able to do anything he would have done it by now. And I don't care what anyone says.....he sucked ass in his first two seasons too. The running game and the defense did most of the work. Mark made a couple good plays here and there but he was highly inaccurate then too and just looking at his stats the first two seasons alone show how bad he was then. Yet some fans still say he regressed and was awesome those first two years.I don't see how anyone looking at Marks stats can intelligently believe he was awesome at all. Yeah he was so awesome his first year he had more ints than td`s and the second 17-14 with more turnovers than td`s both years and also being near the top of the league in fumbles all four years and in his second year he was shown to have double the dropped int`s than the guy in second place of dropped int`s. Mark has never been good and never will be.

If Mark would have been even average his first two years this team would probably have been in at least one Bowl with a good chance at having a Bowl win. In fact Mark being a below average qb with huge flaws cost the team. Yeah he had a few good games here and there with a few good plays here and there but most every qb in the NFL that has played has had a few good games and a few good plays.He has never been consistent and never has been able to and never will be able to put an NFL team on his back and win games. The qb is the most important player on the field and if he cant put the team on his back and actually win then he doesn't deserve to be starting.

Hell I keep seeing rookies come into the league and most of them play better right away then Mark has in any of his 4 years. That one year of college thing doesn't fly with me. This is the pros and the qb is paid to win games and is usually the highest player on the team.The FO picking him was a big joke and Ive been calling it all along. Now Mark hurts this team big time with what he is against the cap this year and all it does is hurt the team as far as rebuilding this year. I hope to hell the new gm just bites the bullet and releases Sanchez because keeping him here next season will only lead to bad things.Its not like teams have parted ways with qbs and other player owed big money before. Its the best thing for the org to get rid of him. If they keep him he needs to hold the clip board and not start at all.

There is no upside to Mark at all. Turns the ball over way to much. has no idea how to read defenses. And still doesn't have the game speed down. Anyone still thinking Mark can turn it around are deluded. He hasn't regressed. He has never progressed. He sucks and isn't and never will be a legit starting caliber qb. Fir the Jets to rebuild he has to go.Any qb that needs a #1 defense and the #1 running game to even have a chance of beating good teams isn't a good qb.
