Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:41 PM) cruz doens't want to leave NY cause teh extra money he'll get in endorsements plus he knows taht they can RFA him this year and then Franchise next year so he might not be able to get a LTD for 3 years
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 05:21 PM) Clemens11/Tebow15 (soon to be Smith7) said if we had just drafted Crabtree and Nicks and kept Clemens, we'd be good.

Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:53 PM) What makes Bridgewater better than Geno?
HurricaneJet32 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:12 PM) everything
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:56 PM) ^

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The Jets are definitely trading Darrelle Revis, right?

Maybe not.

Revis “could still be a member of the 2013 team,” as the Jets aren’t “actively shopping” the NFL’s top cornerback, according to the New York Post.

The team has been entertaining offers but isn’t “committed” to making a move, the Post reported.

The New York Daily News reported on Tuesday that the Jets were “poised” to trade Revis “in the coming days at the right price.” Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have emerged as major players in the sweepstakes for the Jets star, according to multiple reports.

“Everything’s a possibility, but we’re not allowed to talk about players under contract with other teams,” Tampa Bay coach Greg Schiano told the NFL Network on Wednesday.
“We’re trying to get better and anybody that can help us do that, they’re definitely on our radar,” he added.

Among “several tradeproposals” received by the Jets, the Bucs’ offer wasn’t enough to blow general manager John Idzik away, the Post reported. In fact, the Jets don’t believe “any trade is imminent” and there’s a “thought within the organization” that Revis could begin the final year of his contract with Gang Green, according to the paper.

Revis hasn’t been on the field since suffering a torn ACL in September. The 27-year-old will become an unrestricted free agent after the 2013 season if he doesn’t skip any mandatory team activities.

He’ll be looking to sign one of the NFL’s most lucrative contracts for a defensive player — something Jets owner Woody Johnson reportedly isn’t willing to offer. Revis will receive a $1 million roster bonus on Saturday if he’s still a member of the Jets.

Idzik is “leaving all of his options open” — and that includes the possibility of Revis playing out the year, the Post reported.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Idzik hasn’t given Revis’ agents the go-ahead to talk with clubs wondering whether the cornerback is healthy and willing to be more than just a one-year rental, hindering potential deal-making.

The Jets and Revis’ representatives “haven’t talked for weeks,” and there “has been almost no contact” between Idzik and the four-time Pro Bowler, Yahoo! Sports reported earlier this week.

Get a #1 pick and a later rnd pick next year or sign him, simple as that. We cant let the bucs or anyone else convince us he isnt worth a first rnd pick.

Appearing with Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwan on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Dominik was asked whether Revis is on the trade market.

“I don’t know if he really is, honestly,” Dominik said, via JoeBucsFan.com. ”That is a tough question for me to answer. You have to get [Jets general manager] John Idzik on here Pat and grill him about that.”

From what I've read the hang up is that the Jets want the Bucs first rounder this year. I think we should really be targeting next years first plus whatever else we can get to push for that franchise QB
"I thought he was good?!? If he prays when he scores. Everyone knew him for praying. That only can mean he scores :)"

From what I've read (take it for what its worth coming from the news "sources"), Tampa has offered the 2014 1st & 3rd but Idzik wants this year's first to have the 9 & 13 overall. Honestly, I think there's more value in taking next year's first rounder but that's just my opinion. If it doesn't go down, Revis is going to end up in Tampa in 2014 & the Jets would only get a compensatory pick IF WE'RE LUCKY and he'll cost us 18 million in cap hits just to have him on the roster this season. Bad business IMO.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

Report: Bucs are getting impatient with Revis situation

Posted by Michael David Smith on April 8, 2013, 6:38 AM EDT

The Buccaneers want to make it known that they can’t be strung along forever on the Darrelle Revis trade front.

Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Bucs are growing impatient with the process of acquiring Revis in a trade with the Jets. The Bucs have long been viewed as the most likely trading partner if the Jets decide to get rid of Revis, who is their best player but is also coming off a torn ACL, entering the final year of his contract, and likely to demand huge money in a new contract in 2014.

According to Cole, the Buccaneers are willing to trade first-, third- and sixth-round picks for Revis, and the Bucs are also willing to pay Revis $15-16 million a year on a long-term contract.

But if the Bucs are offering all that and it hasn’t yet resulted in a deal getting done, the Bucs may be starting to think a deal simply isn’t going to get done.

It widely has been believed that the lingering impasse between the Jets and the Buccaneers over cornerback Darrelle Revis arises from the Tampa’s refusal to give up a 2013 first-round pick for Revis.

There’s a problem with that widespread belief. It’s not correct.

Multiple sources with knowledge of the situation tell PFT that the Buccaneers are willing to send the 13th overall pick in the 2013 draft to the Jets for Revis. The Jets, however, want “a lot more” than this year’s first-round pick.

It’s unclear what else the Jets want. Last month, the Vikings got a first-round pick in 2013, a seventh-round pick in 2013, and a third-round pick in 2014 for receiver Percy Harvin. It’s possible the Jets want that, or something close to it.

If they get "something close to" the Harvin deal then its a failure. If Harvin went for that, Revis should fetch a lot more
