We would save this amount from each player, if the Jets do what this guy says.
Nick Mangold-$2.4 mil saved
Santonio Holmes-$5.9 mil saved
David Harris-$6.98 mil saved
Antonio Cromartie-$2.19 mil saved
Mark Sanchez-$6 mil saved

Holy crap! Awesome
Sal Paolantonio commenting on the difference in the Ryan and Mangini atmospheres in the building:
"It's like going from Alcatraz to Dorney Park."

It is better to destroy than create what is meaningless, so the picture will not be finished.

I don't like the idea of taking cap money and putting it into future years. Seems like we are just postponing the cap problem even if it does count less later.I know everyone is a win now personality but that is what got us into this to begin with. I would say let's cut our losses and deal with it for a year. Trade / cut players who will not be here in a couple years. Spend more on scouts so we can draft better. Stop with the band-aides and fix the root problem.

These moves don't really hurt us much in the future, we are set up well next year with the cap. We have a lot of holes to fill, so we need some cap space to be able to sign some guys to fill some of those holes. We'll still be able to release Holmes and Sanchez in 2014. Actually, if they really want to save more money with Holmes the guy wrote how they could save a lot but that would then be committing to him in 2014.

From what I read in the article Mangold could push $600k into future years and Holmes could prorate out $10 million per year ect... It just seems like a bad idea to move bad money into the future. We are not going to be a SB team next year. We will have to see what the offseason brings but I doubt we will be a playoff team either. With that being said let's get this bad money over with so we don't have to deal with it in the future so we can have the cap to sign FAs. I don't know but it seems like poor accounting to me.
