Ed Reed is considered one of the greatest safety's of all time. He has proven himself in the NFL and has caused heartache to Jets fans for years. With him lurking around the free agency market, Woody Johnson should look into him coming to New York next season. We have released 5 players already which gives us cap room and with LaRon Landry potentially playing his last season with the Jets; Reed could make an immediate impact. At the age of 34 Reed has seen everything the NFL could possibly throw at him . Being realistic Reed has 2-3 more years to play effectively. If we sign him it cant hurt us as a franchise. He brings leadership, a championship pedigree, and a Rex- Reed reunion. Woody Johnson has some work to do and Reed would be a great start point.

He said if he was a FA he wouldn't mind being coached under BB... and let's be honest. Patriots are a helluvalot more appealing than whatever the Jets have right now.

While Reed is one of the best to have played, odds are that he re-signs with the Ravens. He already said most likely not the Gaytriots even though they can afford him. I have to think he will still want 6-7 per year at least & prefer to give 4.5 to Landry.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.
When someone annoys u, it takes 42 muscles in ur face 2 frown. BUT, it only takes 4 muscles 2 extend ur arm & b!tch-slap that mother@*?!&! upside the head!!

Why not keep Landry? I doubt Reed will come much cheaper

Not happening. even an old Ed Reed would want to be paid and the Jets wouldnt be able to pay him what he wanted. I doubt he would want to come to this circus anyway. The Jets need to rebuild in so many areas they cant afford to pay the old guy a lot of money. I would be utterly amazed if he became a Jet
