ganggreen2003 Icon : (Today, 12:04 PM) he's a completely weak-minded individual
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Today, 12:04 PM) already back to doing what he did last season THROWING INT's
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Today, 12:04 PM) sucks that Garrard retired but I'd rather suffer with Geno going through growing pains than keeping Sanchez under center in 2013
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 12:33 PM) haha gg03 throwing in the towel on sanch!
mgjetman Icon : (Today, 01:37 PM) What a way to make sporrts center already, Mark......
mgjetman Icon : (Today, 01:39 PM) Sanch owns the #1 blooper of all time with that butt fumble also and to make matters worse he threw it right to a friggin Pat...
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 01:53 PM) buttfumble on thanksgiving was the low point of his career
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 01:55 PM) Teammates talking shut about Sanchez
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:11 PM) In case you haven't heard, because why would anyone report on the Giants, Nicks is also holding out
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:11 PM) That makes both Cruz and Nicks.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 02:11 PM) But who cares, Sanchez threw 3 "interceptions"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 02:59 PM) ?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 02:59 PM) why would we give a f*** about the Giants?
santana Icon : (Today, 03:04 PM) gg03 jimmies are riled
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 03:21 PM) You're not in NY. All the backpages are focused on Sanchez
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 03:21 PM) None of the NY media even mention Cruz or Nicks
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 03:40 PM) nicks isn't holding out. he's injured still and taking it easy. cruz is holding out. why it isn't a big ordeal IDK. it would be for us
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 04:02 PM) maybe because theyre not that far off.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 04:02 PM) Cruz wants to return back, they'll figure it out.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 04:41 PM) 3 mil a year off or 30% less then cruz wants. tahst alot of money to be off
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 04:41 PM) cruz doens't want to leave NY cause teh extra money he'll get in endorsements plus he knows taht they can RFA him this year and then Franchise next year so he might not be able to get a LTD for 3 years
Mr_Jet Icon : (Today, 05:21 PM) Clemens11/Tebow15 (soon to be Smith7) said if we had just drafted Crabtree and Nicks and kept Clemens, we'd be good.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 06:44 PM) No, he can't be Smith7
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 06:44 PM) his name is reserved for garbage QBs, we don't want Geno to be bad
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 06:44 PM) He can be McElroy14
extmenace Icon : (Today, 06:51 PM) we're taking bridgewater next year with the number 1 pick and treating geno like a jimmy clausen.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 06:53 PM) What makes Bridgewater better than Geno?
HurricaneJet32 Icon : (Today, 07:12 PM) everything
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 07:56 PM) ^
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:16 PM) college players always get hyped up before the draft process, just wondering what makes him so much better.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 08:19 PM) Stronger arm, plays in a pro system, better throwing motion, better athlete
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 08:19 PM) there's probably nothing Geno does right now that's better than what Teddy does

Sure... makes perfect sense. Everything is going great, why not potentially put the draft against the NBA playoffs? f***ing Goodell.

Goodell has yet to do anything positive for the league. He seriously needs to go soon before he completely kills it.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

When someone annoys u, it takes 42 muscles in ur face 2 frown. BUT, it only takes 4 muscles 2 extend ur arm & b!tch-slap that mother@*?!&! upside the head!!

The owners love him. He's not going anywhere.

This is a brilliant move from the league's perspective. It gives them a prime "event" each month leading up to training camps. The NFL isn't scared of the NBA Playoffs, and whether you think that's pompous or stupid, they probably shouldn't be. Unless your team is playing that night, the vast majority of fans will dedicate three hours to watch the NFL draft as opposed to an NBA playoff game. Hell, even if your team is playing that night, fans still will probably watch at least some of the NFL draft.

Apparently the PLPA is strongly against delaying free agency, so it may be moot.

The NBA is a bigger brand than the NFL. I think more likely is that people are going to watch playoffs games and switch to NFL in time to see their team pick. If I have a choice between watching a quarter of NBA playoff action or seeing what Jacksonville, Cleveland and Seattle do in the draft, I'm picking NBA. Remember, the draft isn't an action event. You can see all the picks on the ticker. It's not like if you miss the moment the Seahawks draft a DL you're going to be kicking yourself forever.

I think you're underestimating the NFL brand in the US. Sure, the NBA is a bigger brand in the sense that basketball is a more global sport. But, for the casual fan, I'd be willing to bet they'd take the NFL Draft over a first round game between the Spurs and Warriors.

You baseball fans correct me if I'm wrong but if they made this change wouldn't that be around the same time of opening day/week of the MLB season too?

Opening day/week is typically around the first week of April.

The NFL is going after the rest of the sports league in this country. Makes sense if you're strickly a football fan. Goodell is cutting in thier pockets. Say what you want but its a damn good move if you're the NFL. There's no gap in football for the average fan. I don't mind it at all. Baseball and basketball fans will have issues with this. I personally don't give a hoot. NFL is the most popular sport in this country. Why not make this strategic move.

So go watch whatever else you will or would be watching anyways .... whoever the jets select doesn't matter. The Jets will be lucky to get 8-9 wins this upcoming season :hysterical: :hysterical:

8-9 wins seems pretty optimistic

From today's MMQB:

Quote

4. I think I am dreading this expanded NFL calendar, if it happens. And I can tell you what the already overburdened coaches and scouts and front office people would think of late March/early-April free agency and a mid-May draft: More meaningless hype to shop the NFL product, less time to be a person. As one agent said to me: "I have not talked to a single person in the business -- coach, scout, agent -- who wants this to happen.''
