I really dont want to trade Revis. I say we cut Sanchez and Holmes next year and pay the guy.

I know i have been talking about trying to trade him but thats all we can talk about right now.

I would only trade Revis for a lights out, stud pass rusher.

Like I said before I would rather lock him up to a contract both sides can live with. Unfortunately that's probably not going to happen. I would rather not only control where he goes but also get value out of it. Strapping the whole team for a corners salary does not make sense for us right now.

That's the thing tho, next year he might just go to free agency and the Jets have no leverage. There has to be a way to sign him this year but move te bulk of money to 2014.

It really sucks rooting for a team that doesn't pay its stars... I wish Revis would play out his career as a Jet, but of course this dumb franchise will trade him. I understand if hes really ridiculous with his demands, but I am just not buying that he will sign for $16 mil a year. I think he would accept being the highest paid CB. Woody Johnson doesn't want to pay him at all and they haven't even talked to his agents, you have to at least talk and try to work out a deal. Its not even like Revis wants to leave, he wants to stay a Jet.

IF Revis would sign for REASONABLE money rather than being the highest paid anything, then I say resign him to a long term deal to allow him to end his career as a Jet. If he demands being the highest paid CB or defensive player, then we have no choice but to trade him. He's got to allow his contract to have escalators and clauses that protect both sides in case of re-injury though. He just got paid millions to sit home & rehab so now its time for him to give a little rather than continue with ridiculous demands to be the highest paid CB or defensive player.

People saying Woody doesn't pay his stars need their heads examined. Revis held up the team twice already so you can't say Woody doesn't open the checkbook. As for talking to his agents......nobody knows if discussions are being held or not and if not, that's Woody's right not to considering he wants to see Revis in action before going into talks to see if he's worth anywhere near the money he's reportedly seeking.
