Amazing how everyone is signing players at an alarming rate, yet the Jets' (and I realize we have limited cap room) #1 priority is trying to find a trade partner for Revis. In couple of days, the more talented FA's will be gone and the Jets will begin their rebuilding phase (once again) with second stringers who will hopefully catch lightning in a bottle. If they're able to get a 55-man roster it'll be a miracle.

Jets Biggest Priority During Free Agency

Attacking the FA period and signing big name guys is why we are where we are. Soon or Later we were going to have to bite the bullet. Now is the time. My only real concern is not that we have not signed anyone but that this draft class is average with no real elite players. We will need to draft well.

Drafting well in a "not so good draft class" is even more difficult than the norm. Let's see how well Idzik and his team are at evaluating talent. Only time will tell, but hopefully we'll be able to shake out not so good draft history.

This draft is weak at the top, as in there's no Andrew Luck or Jake Long or Cam Newton. There's no consensus #1 #2 or #3. But there's a ton of good players and the Jets are actually doing the right thing. There's absolutely no one who got signed today that we would go after or "need". Yes we do have holes, but they are holes that developed because a few years ago, we had a great 1st day in FA. I'd rather the Jets stand pat, sign a few 1 year deals (like Landry and Bell last year) and wait until Sanchez, Harris and Holmes come off the books. In the meantime, draft well and build from within.
