Jetsfan0099 Icon : (17 May 2013 - 04:53 PM) Sounds like it may not be as bad with Goodson. I could see him ending up with a 4 game suspension for possession, the gun charges probably going to the other guy.

Jetsfan115 Icon : (17 May 2013 - 05:49 PM) i'd order a steak from idzik but he'd just give me a hamburger and try to pass it off as steak and when i cought him in the act he'd gie me a million dollars to make up for it

He had a pretty big role in Carolina a couple years ago when D'angelo Williams inevitably got hurt. He flashed some talent.

To call him a nobody is pure ignorance.

3 yr 6.9 million deal. Good signing. He can run (4.4 avg per carry) & catch which is something definitely needed for the WCO.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

You are right by jets standards 452 rushing yards is a big role

Mike Goodson 25 years old and has 722 rusing yds to his nfl career
Percy Harvin a WR. 24 years old and has 683 rushing yds to his nfl career

Has Goodson been hurt or something? I don't get it
Is he here to challenge billal Powell for the starting job? Or is he here to steal touches from McKnight

I'm pretty sure he rotated with Stewart for like 5-6 games that year after D'Angelo got hurt and put up those numbers. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember him doing pretty well with the gig. Other than that, he's been buried behind either D'Angelo & Stewart or McFadden & Marcel Reese.

Percy Harvin has been a major focus of an offense for his entire career. That's a pretty unfair comparison. And if you want to be cute with the WR vs. RB thing, we all know Percy Harvin is not just used in a traditional WR role.

Some guys just need a shot. Goodson is fast and can catch.

Well I hope he works out and has an explosive season
I suppose it could be a better option then over paying for an Ahmad bradshaw type of back

If Goodson's avg drops and barely gets 300yds this year you would have to question idzik on this one

I think this is a great signing for only 6.9M over 3 years. In the 4 games where Goodson has gotten over 10 carries, he averages 5.6 yards per carry (career average is 4.5). And that doesn't include a 9 carry, 70 yard game. In those same 4 games he caught 17 balls for an average of 8.1 yards per catch, and that's slightly lower than his career average of 8.9 ypc (59 catches for 524 yards). He's not a miracle signing, but I like him more than Powell and he could turn out to be a steal.
"I thought he was good?!? If he prays when he scores. Everyone knew him for praying. That only can mean he scores :)"

Quote from my wife when I told her I liked Tebow, but that he sucks as a QB

Have to also remember this kid was number 3 in the depth chart behind McFadden & Jones so he's not going to have big numbers to speak of just yet. Hopefully he can bring something more for us. The kid has good hands apparently as he is a receiving back which we definitely need again.
