Jets 0-2 vs bills this year. Does Rex Ryan survive the year?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 08:55 AM) Like how do you get blown out by a team that didn't practice while you had 2 weeks to prepare?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 08:55 AM) That kind of stuff may force Woody to make the big changes and fire everyone
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 08:55 AM) John Idzik has handled the QB situation terribly. 2 times he pretty much handed the job to his draft pick
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 08:56 AM) Besides Sheldon Richardson, his drafts have been awful.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 08:57 AM) Maybe Woody will clean house and go all out for Jim Harbaugh, that probably won't happen though but it would be a franchise changer.
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 10:07 AM) Harbaugh would be amazing...but because it makes sense it won't be done
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 10:51 AM) According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets blocked coach Rex Ryan from talking to Mehta about a bye-week visit to his ailing father, legendary NFL defensive guru Buddy Ryan. Buddy, who rose to prominence as defensive coordinator of the ’85 Bears and then coached the Eagles and Cardinals, is battling cancer.
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 10:52 AM) Mehta interprets the muzzling of Rex Ryan as proof positive that, once the season ends, Ryan will no longer be the team’s head coach. Apparently, the team fears that Rex would become more sympathetic in the eyes of the fan base if he’s dumped by the team at a time when his father is fighting a serious illness.
santana Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:05 AM) Mehta is an idiot
santana Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:25 AM) If colt McCoy lights it up do the jets make a move?
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:27 AM) I don't even care what they do for a while
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:28 AM) The team is a catastrophe
santana Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:29 AM) I didn't see the game
santana Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:29 AM) I remember the first bills game though I'm guessing it was like that with more sleeping in the end zone
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:32 AM) I'm with 0099...I hope they keep getting destroyed
Chaos Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:33 AM) it's a very Jets-esque move to sign McCoy if he does well
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:53 AM) I think they sign RGIII, Cutler, or Bradford
santana Icon : (26 November 2014 - 12:10 PM) why not all three
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 12:11 PM) Knowing this team, I wouldn't put that past them
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 02:07 PM) RAUL FOR QB
santana Icon : (26 November 2014 - 02:10 PM) the only real choice
santana Icon : (26 November 2014 - 02:10 PM) almost uefa time

Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:00 PM) Look at what a great system can do for a QB, Sanchez looks like a different QB with the Eagles.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:00 PM) Scanning the field and making quick decisions, I like how Chip has Sanchez throwing on the run which he was always great at.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:01 PM) I really hope we finally bring in a good offensive minded coach.
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:45 PM) I really can't wait for this season to be done and over with

I'm not being rash here. i'm being realistic. its clear he wants to build "his team" and do away with what we had. And i'm ok with it when it comes to guys like devito, pohua, pace, thomas, etc. people who's best years are behind them. but the reason for trading revis makes no sense. you could trade cro and get a high pick, he just came off a probowl year, is healthy, is signed for 3 more years, and is in his prime. you can get a 2nd and 3rd rounder for cro easily. but nopw he wants ot get rid of the best defensive players. and why? is it money? he won't pay revis 15 mil but he'll keep sanchez who si making as much. so keep teh QB who is at the bottom fo teh league over the CB who is at the top? I THINK THIS GUY IS OGING TO DESTROY OUR TEAM and then get fired and we'll eb fucked

What do you honestly expect them to do with Sanchez? It's cheaper to keep him. Didn't you make a post about that and say that yourself?

exactly. its cheaper to keep them both this year. the decision comes next year. revis will be a FA and want big money, Sanchez will be at the point in his contarct where we can cut him and save a ton of money. He can easily plan to extend revis dumping a bunch of money into next eyar with teh intent of cutting sanchez to make that room. insead he is picking sanchez over revis which is bad

It does not make sense to me to trade an elite player either. I know we need alot more talent in other areas and getting all these picks would be great but only if we draft well. How much would it suck if we trade Revis and draft another Vernon? Revis has priced himself out of the Jets unfortunatly but if he can get it good for him. I would rather trade him than have him hit FA next year though.

I wouldnt say he is picking Sanchez over Revis. I think its all just a big cluster f*** cap room wise. He knows this year he is stuck with Sanchez no matter what. The Revis situation is difficult. He has 1 more year left. He is coming off a ACL injury. I think he knows its best to keep him and extend him for the team BUT he wants to make sure Revis is still.. well Revis Island. I dont believe Revis camp is asking for 15-16 mill a year. I think its closer to 12-13 million a year. Which is still a great chunk of change to someone that might never play at the pre injury kind of level again. With or without Sanchez on the team next year. So, I dont believe he is choosing Sanchez for Revis, I think he is seeing whats out there right now trade wise to see what he COULD get if he thought trading him would be the best move for the team if he feels Revis wont be the old Revis.

Personally, I dont think Revis will be traded. Jets are on a tight budget. It would make no sense to pay more money to a player for trading him when we are already low on cap space this year. A more likely plot is Sanchez either takes a huge pay cut or is released next offseason and they extend Revis if he has a good and healthy season. I also wouldnt be surprised if this conversation hasnt been discussed between the 2 parties. Jets want to see how he will play before they extend him. Thats not being unfair.

You wonder why this team can't get anything done...fans already calling for the GM to get fired less than 3 months into his tenure. Even before the draft

Do you have to throw your brain away when you say "I'M A JETS FAN!!!!"

He is playing this off season perfectly.
1. Wait with Revis. If someone comes and dumps a H.Walker type trade on you- JUMP. If not wait and see what you have with him. If he's 100% sign long term. If you play your hand to soon you're screwed.
2. Draft Picks. Use them wisely.
3. Keep your teams's mouths shut. Fock the media.
4. Don't listen to stupid talking heads in NY- build a TEAM, not headlines.

That's all I have to say about that.

we have plenty of cap room as it is w/o any big names to resign. we let keller and slauson all walk for cheap 1 year deals taht we could have matched but chose not to. both are yung un their prime amd left holes.

the cap is fine, sanchez can be cut next year for huge savings. holmes took a pay cut, and he hans't improved the roster at all. free agency is done at this point. he has to draft but trading away your bets player is always dumb

1) he isn't playing wait and see. he is playing piss off my star player in his contract year and force myself into HAVING to trade him at a discounted rate. if he was SMART or PLAYING IT RIGHT he would have told revis that he'll give him 8 weeks into the season and ig he is back to form they can work out a deal. and he could be back handed and trade him right before the deadline to a team with playoff hopes in need of a CB at a good price if he proves to be revis. we've seen it doen before or give him the extension after proven he's healthy. revis knows business is business but you never want to alienate your bets player leaving him in the dark .
2) even the best scouts know its a crapshoot. its a gamble. its playing blackjack at the casino. hitting on 11 seems like a sure bet until you get a 5 and have to make a tough decision afterwards. even the bets team only get production out of half their top 4 picks and maybe 20% out of 5th round and later picks.
3) instead idzik is letting the media make him out to look like a bad guy already
4) what team have we built? don't be blind. we don't even have a staring lineup and there sin't enough pciks in our draft to field a team

Haven't we been through this countless times already? You guys keep saying its cheaper to keep Revis. PLEASE explain to me how its cheaper to take a total of 18 million in cap hits for him the be here for only 2013 than it is to trade him, take the 12 million hit and get multiple picks in return?

Idzik is doing the RIGHT thing with Revis. Revis didn't even want to come to workouts other than for a checkup and then go back to Arizona than work with the team staff. Idzik says, if you want those bonuses you'll honor the contract and get your ass in Florham Park. I'm glad we finally have someone with the balls to not kiss Revis' ass.

Revis seriously needs a dose of humility like Aso decided to swallow. Rather than playing for 15 million like he was about to, Aso's playing for 3. To send a message to the league that he's got a chip on his shoulder and it's not just a coincidence that he & Revis will both be unrestricted free agents at the same time after the 2013 season. Throw in the fact that he's got a real shot at a ring with the 49ers, he is playing for what Revis is due just in bonuses.

Idzik is smart as hell. He's making Revis work out with the team at the team facility rather than simply accepting the doctor reports that Revis is paying to be sent to the team. The Jets staff can then evaluate Revis' rehab progress so they can see what kind of TRUE timetable he may be on with his rehab so that they can determine his value either to go into negotiations with Revis or trade negotiations. Tanny would've just let Revis stay out in Arizona and just continue to pay him right util the day he walked out of Florham Park for good to sign with Tampa or someone else after the 2013 season.

So let the hater comments begin........but before you do.....keep in mind that I've already stated that if Revis looks like he could return to form, offer him a deal of 9-10 per year with escalators that will allow him to go to 13+ to make him the highest paid DB in the league. If he keeps saying he wants more, that'll be more than enough evidence that he wants to be the highest paid defensive player period. I personally don't think he'll get the mega-deal he thinks he can get at 15-16+ per year anywhere but Tampa & they may just draft someone if they can't get him before or on draft day.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

When someone annoys u, it takes 42 muscles in ur face 2 frown. BUT, it only takes 4 muscles 2 extend ur arm & b!tch-slap that mother@*?!&! upside the head!!
