Given the uncertainty about the future of coach Rex Ryan, and a new general manager in John Idzik, itís hard to imagine the Jets investing a first-round pick in a quarterback the next coach might not want if things donít work out.
But that doesnít mean theyíre not looking for someone to compete with Mark Sanchez and David Garrard.
According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Florida Stateís E.J. Manuel will visit the Jets later this week.
Manuel has been pegged as a late-first or early-second-rounder by many, and the Jets picking at No. 39 in the second round makes a degree of sense.
