@DWAZ73 : One other thing: Idzik now has landed arguably No. 1 QB, RB and WR in free agency this offseason despite deliberate approach. #Jets

Jetsfan115 Icon : (16 April 2014 - 03:32 PM) still need another WR
Jetsfan115 Icon : (16 April 2014 - 03:33 PM) so i bet powell barely gets any touches this year and goodson gets cut
azjetfan Icon : (16 April 2014 - 03:34 PM) Goodson is as good as gone.
azjetfan Icon : (16 April 2014 - 03:34 PM) With all his legal issues and coming off injury he is done. Possibly even in the NFL
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 April 2014 - 03:39 PM) Powell is average anyways.
Chaos Icon : (16 April 2014 - 03:39 PM) @ProFootballTalk 5m

Per source, Chris Johnson's two-year deal has a base value of $8 million, with another $1 million available in incentives based on yardage.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 April 2014 - 03:40 PM) He does a lot of things well, but isn't talented enough. Johnson has breakaway ability still and Ivory is man beast running the football
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 April 2014 - 03:41 PM) We will get another WR in the draft. Even in round 2 you can get a starting WR
azjetfan Icon : (16 April 2014 - 04:09 PM) I am still standing by my CB in the first round and WR in the second prediction
santana Icon : (16 April 2014 - 05:19 PM) The title race is bale
azjetfan Icon : (16 April 2014 - 05:34 PM) Sidney rice coming in for a visit
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 April 2014 - 05:49 PM) I think the Jets are getting themselves ready to draft best player available
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 April 2014 - 05:49 PM) Last year they stuck to their board
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (16 April 2014 - 06:27 PM) if they sign him I think that means they look to take a CB round 1
2JBallar01 Icon : (16 April 2014 - 06:32 PM) “@AdamSchefter: RB Chris Johnson's 2-year deal with Jets has a team option in it for year two. Jets have option to pick up year two at $4M in February 2015.”
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 April 2014 - 06:51 PM) @AlbertBreer 2m
Sidney Rice has agreed to terms with the Seahawks on a one-year deal, per source.

Jets could unload a quarterback as part of Revis trade

If/when the Jets ship cornerback Darrelle Revis to the Buccaneers, another current member of the roster could be making the trip to Tampa, too.

While poking around the question of whether the Jets could be trying to include quarterback-of-all-trades Tim Tebow in the package (which would keep the Jets from cutting Tebow and seeing him sign with the Patriots), we tripped over a previously unknown nugget. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the discussions between the Jets and Bucs have included the possibility of the Buccaneers assuming the contract of quarterback Mark Sanchez.

Yes, Sanchez. He has a guaranteed base salary of $8.25 million for 2013. If he didnít, Sanchez would have been cut by now. If the Jets could unload that obligation, theyíd surely jump at the chance.

Itís unclear whether Sanchez would compete for the starting job in Tampa. On one hand, he hasnít done enough in recent years to justify the opportunity. On the other hand, coach Greg Schiano doesnít seem to be sold on quarterback Josh Freeman, who was taken 12 spots behind Sanchez in the 2009 draft.

Sanchez thrived in New York during a couple of Schianoís seasons at Rutgers. Schiano possibly thinks he could coax better performances out of the man who took the Jets to back-to-back AFC title games to start his career. In Tampa, his offensive coordinator would be Mike Sullivan, who helped Eli Manning to a couple of Super Bowl wins.

Or maybe the Bucs would simply be absorbing Sanchezís salary and cap number for 2013, and turning around and cutting him loose.

At this point, all we know is that the subject has come up in the trade discussions. For now, itís still merely a possibility.

An intriguing possibility, but a possibility nevertheless.

I swear, every f***ing year with this team is 1 step forward, 3 steps back. You want to further sink Revis' value? Package him with one of the worst contracts on the team. WTF!

Not that I'm gung-ho about having Sanchez on the team anymore anyway, but if that happens they'll be very likely (read: forced) to pick a QB in the first round in an subpar QB class

not really. we could run gerrard or mcelroy and get the #1 pick for next years top QB. face it, we aren't gonna be good in 2013. plus we'll ahve teh bucs pick as well so we can get our QB and another top player in 2014 as well as our 1st this eyar and 2 2nds

either way i'm still against trading revis

Why do we need cap space for next year? It's not like we will be signing any huge FAs or anything. Doesn't add up.

The Bucs COULD technically "assume" Sanchez's contract which means they'd eat his cap charge for this year as well which is about 13 million even though his salary is only 8.25. That's why the Jets would try to do it not to mention the future hits. It'll never happen though.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

When someone annoys u, it takes 42 muscles in ur face 2 frown. BUT, it only takes 4 muscles 2 extend ur arm & b!tch-slap that mother@*?!&! upside the head!!
