and yes i know those are all QBs so also

Adrian Peterson, Larry fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Asomougha, Etc all got special attention

and i'd say a top CB is more important then a top WR or RB

I would never think it is a good idea to give a player who plays less than half the snaps in a total game and only impacts his side of the field that large of a percentage of the total cap room. It would not matter how good he is. The Bucs were the only team willing to trade for him and sign him to that silly money and we still got the 13th pick for injured goods. That's pretty good in my book. What other team has successfully given a CB that kind of money and did well? Raiders? Nope... Eagles? Nope...... He is a CB. Probably the best in the league, but he is still a CB. Not the most important position on the team.

But you did compare them. That's why I did that. Considering that the NFL is now protecting the QB and WRs so much I would disagree. HB I am with you.

OK well Peterson blew his knee out and was due a contract. minnesota sheeled out huge money for him and made it known they wanted him there. we did teh opposite. Minn still has their star RB we have nothing

he made up for the lack of any decent safeties, he never needed safety help which allowed us an extra pass rusher every play. having revis on the field was like playing with 12 men. and he played every snap on defense os how is it less then half?

and the 13th pick most liekly will never be clsoe to what revis is. lets say we score an amazing pass rusher and he gets 12 sacks his rookie year, then i'll say it wasn't a terrible deal. But what if we draft the next vernon gholston? then we gave revis away for nothing. alot rides on what idzik does with that pick TBH.

remember when we traded keyshawn and bellichek and had 4 1st round picks? we landed some good pciks too, penny was amazing when healthy, ellis and abe were great DEs and becht was a good blocking TE. but we never made a SB with them. keyshawn won one and belly won 3

rarely do trades like this work out.

We do have something to show for it. 2 picks. Tampa will have to release him in 2 years and have nothing. When Milliner (sp?) is drafted @ 13 or later and he turns into a solid CB the Bucs will look like fools and Idzick will look better. Spending 13+% on a non QB is just stupid. History shows it.

Probably truth to the saftey comment... But the other hand is we could not afford to have a pass rusher due to his contract.

Thats your opinion and there is a valid concern. Keep in mind we had Revis for years and we did not win a SB either. Revis wanted to much money for a CB is what this comes down to. What if we had the cap space to sign Manning when he was a FA? Why tie so much money?

You are comparing a guy who touches the ball 30+ times a game to a CB. Normally I would agree I would rather have a corner over a HB, But I would take Peterson over Revis in a heartbeat. Also using MN as an example is not he best. Bad team management.

Try doing just an iota of research, I'm pretty sure Peterson got payed way before blowing out his knee.

Peterson Article
"I thought he was good?!? If he prays when he scores. Everyone knew him for praying. That only can mean he scores :)"

Quote from my wife when I told her I liked Tebow, but that he sucks as a QB
