azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:20 PM) Tom Pettys brother
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:22 PM) Jets should take Collins with one of their 7th rounders if there
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:22 PM) He has more upside for a 7th rounder than anyone else
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:22 PM) He can start right away at RT
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:29 PM) He said he won't sign
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:32 PM) so he doesn't want to be drafted?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:33 PM) If Collins doesn't get drafted, he can't enter next years draft. He can only if he is drafted and sits out. So I guess he has to go undrafted
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:41 PM) going undrafted makes the most sense for collins
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:41 PM) but for teams, drafting him and dealing with his holdout makes more sense
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:19 PM) Zac Stacy was traded to us for our 7th
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:21 PM) Jets also drafted a NT with our other 7th
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:21 PM) 6'4 330 DL who is very strong
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:25 PM) zac stacy for a 7th
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:25 PM) well can't complain about that
MikeGangGree... Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:29 PM) So we have 4 rbs now
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:31 PM) still would have rather taken a runner on collins but i can't complain with depth
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:32 PM) i mean they can't expect to carry 4 rb though no?
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:50 PM) Collins would have been a waste. He would not have signed. At least we have something to show for our pick. Worst case scenario is we trade or release one of our backs.
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:56 PM) I know it's hard to tell without seeing a win loss record yet but this regime seems really on point.
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:56 PM) For the first time in my life I can say I feel comfortable with the people making the decisions.
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:57 PM) I was close with Parcells but he seemed like a short term fixer and didn't care about the long term
MikeGangGree... Icon : (02 May 2015 - 06:57 PM) SUCK FOR THE DUCK
MikeGangGree... Icon : (02 May 2015 - 06:57 PM) .......oh wait
santana Icon : (03 May 2015 - 01:13 AM) Well that was a disappointment
Chadforpresi... Icon : (03 May 2015 - 01:24 AM) I like getting Stacy for our 7th rounder, assuming he can handle the fact he won't be a feature back (yikes)
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:31 AM) I like the trade, hes a quality back and adds more depth to our backfield
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:32 AM) Macc has pretty much killed it this offseason
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:32 AM) He has turned this roster around, he has added talent and competition all over.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:33 AM) We still aren't great at QB, but our overall football team is good. We have a realistic shot at making a playoff run
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:33 AM) We may have the best defense in football. We have a great DL and secondary, that is gonna be tough on offenses when you can stop the run, pressure the QB, and blanket the receivers
ganggreen2003 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:23 PM) ok now it's time for this team to take all this talent and do something anything below a 10-6 season will be a disappointment
ganggreen2003 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:24 PM) the only still glaring issue is QB
ganggreen2003 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:25 PM) we got the WR problem solved, we got probably one of the best Defenses in the game and we have addressed the OL but QB will still be the glaring issue
Chaos Icon : (Yesterday, 09:34 AM) jets cleaning house
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 05:57 PM) I'm excited about this year. Could be a good year for the Jets.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:32 PM) weird how they cleaned house in the scouting department after such a successful draft and off-season so far
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 07:36 PM) I assume they didn't bring much to the table
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 08:41 PM) Have to clean the table
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 09:08 PM) Fuck the rangers
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 09:08 PM) face off dominated holtby gtfo
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:18 PM) La'el Collins is meeting with Rex Ryan tonight
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Today, 12:31 AM) FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH!
Chaos Icon : (Today, 05:41 AM) Damn that'd make up for the Bills not having a first rounder
azjetfan Icon : (Today, 10:59 AM) They didn't sign him yet. It's just a visit.
santana Icon : (Today, 01:49 PM) Uefa time

What the f*** are you going on about?

The Bucs gave him nothing guaranteed, but I can guarantee you something. He'll do it this year and still earn his 16m to prove his knee is OK. Then in the offseason, he'll be given a new deal fully loaded with upfront guarantees. Have you not followed Revis' posse while he was here? Completely money driven.

so your saying he is gonna hold out after this year? really lol. please wanna bet on it?

Our team is f***ing shit.

well looks like w agree on something. and idzik is a part of it (not the whole reason) but a part of it

Hopefully the new brass can draft well because that's ultimately how you win in this league.

correction you have to draft well and actually keep the people you draft. not let pohua, slauson, revis, keller, greene etc all walk. you actually have to keep teh players you draft that do well.
it seems we miss on most picks and teh ones we don't miss on we let go. SO who do we have that we drafted the past 5 years on our team that is an above average starter? I can only count 2 wilkerson and harris

Our team is f***ing shit. We can't pay a CB top dollar. There is no need. We need to bottom out, get rid of the shit deals and start over. This is a start to that. Hopefully the new brass can draft well because that's ultimately how you win in this league.

The Jets and Revis affair was over. Woody didn't want him. I'm sure the more Idzik thought about it, he didn't want him either. Just wrong player, wrong position, wrong time. It was time.

Good point, I hadn't thought about the fact that by the time this team is rebuilt into a contender...Revis will be on the downside of his career. A 16 million dollar CB is only useful to a championship contending team, and even then it is questionable whether a team should pay that much for a position that can only affect one other player on the field.

Yeah because we all know Woody isn't money driven. It's not like he's still paying off loans for a new stadium or anything.

3) He is one of those people who will never admit fault, error or defeat.
4)His life sucks and he takes it out on people who don't share in his views.

OK...we get it...you don't like Woody Johnson. I don't think anyone here is smitten with the dork.

But, that doesn't justify attacking Idzik as well. Since none of us know the full story...all we can take out of this is that the ONLY team interested in trading for and paying a CB $16 million was Tampa Bay. Considering that there was ZERO competition...I think Idzik deserves a round of applause for getting a 13th overall pick and a mid rounder at all for a player COMING OFF ACL SURGERY!!!

You're insane if you think Revis is going to play out a contract with no guaranteed money. THere is absolutely no financial security in that contract. Hes not going to play that out, he only accepted it because hes coming off of a knee injury and teams need to see him at full strength again.

First of all an ACL injury is not the death sentence to a player's career like it was even 10 years ago. Revis is already ahead of schedule. But that's another topic altogether.

I'm not attacking Idzik, to me he's just a salary cap wizard Woody hired to clean up the mess left by Woody's last salary cap wizard. Woody is the one that wanted Revis gone, Idzik is just Woody's hitman in this situation. Idzik hasn't been with the Jets long enough to deserve any of the blame for anything that happened with Revis and the FO before last January.

But I know one thing, he has two draft picks now for trading away a future HoFer. He BETTER hit a f***ing homerun with these TWO picks he got for Revis. His legacy as the Jets GM depends on it.

So your saying he is gonna hold out? cause no way TB redoes the contract w/o him holding out oir taking a paycut.

Anyway...on to more important things...why do you STILL have that photo of Stephen Hill dropping a pass in your signature 115? Why don't you choose one of the many photos of him dropping a pass in a Jets uniform? :yess:

Because its the last draft we had the best CB in the NFL and we gave him away for a pack of menthols

And who are these oh so important players the Jets had to get rid of in 2011 so they could pay Revis? Damien Woody (who retired that offseason anyway because of age and injury)? Kris Jenkins (again retired that offseason because of age and injury)? Jerricho Cotchery (who has gotten all of 2 TDs since signing with Pittsburgh)? or Vernon Gholston (his name alone says it all)? No it's only in the delusional, Revis hating world that you live in that we had to lose players to pay Revis.

Wow. You are seriously in love with Revis or you're just completely DENSE.

Kris Jenkins.......DEMANDED double teams, destroyed linemen & would've accepted vet minimum.

Cotchery may have only 2 TD's with Pitt but what did he produce with us? How many 40+ yard receptions? Cotch was better than butter fingers Hill was he not?

BRAYLON EDWARDS.......funny how you left his name off your list.

Damien Woody ....... retired ONLY because the Jets didn't make him an offer. You're a FOOL if you think Woody wasn't a valuable piece on the line.

Drew Coleman........he may not have been the best CB, but he was valuable. 4 sacks/5 forced fumbles in 2010 alone and WANTED to stay.

Shaun Ellis.......Even though he didn't produce with the Gaytriots in 2011, there's no telling that he wouldn't produce with us. He was a leader on Defense and the longest tenured Jet at the time.

NOBODY in their right mind would question letting go of Gholston.

Funny how I come up with 6 right there but you obviously think Revis is worth more than all of them put together. If Mevis didn't demand 16.25 million a year for the first two of the Revis camp-titled "band aid" contract, I'm sure we could've brought back at least 2-3 of those 6 and Revis still would've banked some serious cash.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

When someone annoys u, it takes 42 muscles in ur face 2 frown. BUT, it only takes 4 muscles 2 extend ur arm & b!tch-slap that mother@*?!&! upside the head!!

Jenkins.....was not going to accept anything because he couldn't stay on the field and he said himself after his second ACL injury that he would retire before going through another rehab. Jenkins TORE HIS ACL!!! TWICE. Plus he was over 30 years old when those injuries happened. But you're fine with Jenkins coming back from TWO ACL injuries and being a drag on the salary cap, but not for Revis. :hysterical: What a f***ing hypocrite you are.

Quote

The previous injury to that knee also involved the ACL. It was repaired last October with a graft, using a tendon from his hamstring. During the latter stages of his rehab, Jenkins admitted he had fleeting thoughts of retirement. He decided to play after discussing it with his family, acknowledging that he probably wouldn't be able to handle another rehab.

It's also possible the Jets may not want him back at his current salary. He's due a $1 million roster bonus, plus a $3.75 million salary in 2011, and it's unlikely they will want to pay that much to a player who will have missed 25 of his past 32 games.

Woody......The Jets didn't make Damien Woody an offer? (sigh)

Quote

Jets tackle Damien Woody has decided to retire
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on July 26, 2011, 7:17 PM EDT
Damien Woody had an offer to return to the Jets after getting cut earlier this offseason. Instead, the 12-year veteran has decided to retire.

I may be a fool, but I'm a fool with the facts on my side.

Cotchery.....meh, his time in Pittsburgh speaks for itself.

Braylon Edwards....I left him out because I wanted to see if you'd be ridiculous enough to mention his name in this discussion, and you didn't disappoint me. Yes the Jets decided not to pay Edwards the big contract he wanted, and that was one of the best decisions the FO ever made during the Johnson/Tannenbaum era. The Jets decided not to over pay for Edwards and so they let him walk. Edwards went most of the off-season unsigned until the 49ers signed him to a contract worth 3.5 million if he met certain incentives....and as we all know he didn't meet those incentives. They cut him after one season, as did the Seahwaks the very next year. Yeah we really missed out on Braylon Edwards.

I could hear you now after the 2011 season if the Jets had re-signed Edwards "we gave that fvcking lazy bum a big contract and now he plays like sh!t! What a fvcking little street thug. He ROBBED US!!!"

Drew Coleman....he was mediocre at best. The Jets haven't missed him and have Wilson, moving on.

Shaun Ellis....funny how Revis was supposed to be a team player and take a paycut, but not Ellis. Ellis could have signed the veteran's minimum to stay with the Jets if he wanted to. But New England offered him more money, he took it and I don't blame him. He didn't do much in New England so we didn't miss out on anything. The Jets had just drafted Wilkerson in the first round, so Ellis' time was up anyway.

None of these players are missed and their salaries aren't missed either.

1) He is a racist. By constantly using race as a battling tool.
2) He is an extreme Liberal. If you are on either extreme you are probabaly more wrong than right.
3) He is one of those people who will never admit fault, error or defeat.
4)His life sucks and he takes it out on people who don't share in his views.

I'm on record as saying I don't like the trade or the idea of getting rid of Revis. However I'm going to reserve my judgment on the deal (and partially on Idzik) until the draft. I'll at least give the man a draft class before I judge anything. It really is going to take a couple of years to get this team on the right track

And why did this move need to be made? This move didn't always have to be made. The Jets FO has known since the beginning of the 2010 season that Revis' contract was up in 2014. They could have tried to sign him beyond 2014 after the 2010 season, or after the 2011 season. This "Revis contract expiring in 2014" situation didn't just catch them by surprise. The Jets FO had almost 26 months since the Jets 2010 season ended to sign Revis beyond 2014 and they didn't do it. No during that 26 months they chose to do things like give Wayne Hunter and Mark Sanchez both contract extensions and of course trade for Tim Tebow. So if the Jets FO (and I'm talking mostly about Woody Johnson here) found themselves in the situation where they had to trade Revis, it's because they created that situation. All of this could have been avoided as early as 26 months ago.

The move needed to be made because it seems like Woody had made his decision. If the Jets were going to let Revis leave, I rather get something rather than nothing. I would have much rather the Jets reach a resolution with him and sign him up for the long term. He's the third Jet I've rooted for that has been traded away, I wonder who the next one will be.

Knowing this team they'll screw around and go 10-6 and make the playoffs and mess up the rebuilding process. Like they did in 2006 and 2009.

But then again.....don't you live in an entirely different country but yet think you can tell us how to live? Go fvck yourself little boy. You're likely still living with mommy & daddy. Pu$$y.

I agree with you. But I was thinking earlier today. I think Woody knew last year (before Revis got injured) that he didn't want to re-sign Revis. And if that's the case he should have traded Revis last year. Last year's draft was better anyway. I mean if Woody really wanted to keep Revis he could have. But I think he never really intended on keeping Revis past the 2013 season. He should have traded Revis last year if that's the case.

No one ever said Woody or Tanny were able to plan ahead. I'm still pissed at the damn contract extension they gave Sanchez. That has to rank among the dumbest things this team has ever done.

Oh and Tebow. Tebow needs to removed from the team. He may be a great guy but I just don't want to see him in a Jets uniform again.
