Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 August 2014 - 07:14 PM) finally made a play on defense once Pryor came in
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 August 2014 - 07:15 PM) besides that INT, Geno looks better than last season IMO. seems more comfortable and is going through progressions.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 August 2014 - 07:18 PM) DeMario Davis seems like hes poised to have a breakout season at LB
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 August 2014 - 07:50 PM) It was nice seeing Pryor in, he made some plays. I think hes going to be the real deal and that we will hit on a stud with him
azjetfan Icon : (16 August 2014 - 08:43 PM) The pick by Geno seemed to be more on Nelson. Nelson sat on his route. Geno threw it were he was supposed to be.
azjetfan Icon : (16 August 2014 - 08:44 PM) Who knows though
santana Icon : (16 August 2014 - 11:55 PM) http://gfycat.com/Mi...idHookersealion
santana Icon : (16 August 2014 - 11:55 PM) Gotta fix that
azjetfan Icon : (17 August 2014 - 01:35 PM) Is anyone else as concerned as I am about the secondary?
azjetfan Icon : (17 August 2014 - 01:36 PM) I know it's preseason and all but even with Milliner in on the first game we gave up a TD on the first drive to the Colts
azjetfan Icon : (17 August 2014 - 01:37 PM) Patterson looked like me out there and Wilson got torched last night
Smedsthejet Icon : (17 August 2014 - 02:26 PM) Concerned about the right side of the OLine too - too many penalties and Giacomini wasn't that much better than against the Colts when he was poor
SackExchange71 Icon : (17 August 2014 - 02:31 PM) Imo i still think howard is better then giacomini..Wish they never let him walk.Giacomini had alot of flags in seattle also
azjetfan Icon : (18 August 2014 - 09:33 AM) Howard recieved a huge contract in Oakland. Way over his actual value.
azjetfan Icon : (18 August 2014 - 10:08 AM) So did we make a trade for a CB yet?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (18 August 2014 - 03:51 PM) Milliner did suffer a high ankle sprain, that sucks. could linger all year
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (18 August 2014 - 03:52 PM) I think Patterson sucked vs the Colts because he was injured, which he always is.
Mr_Jet Icon : (18 August 2014 - 06:49 PM) As much as people criticized Tannanbaum for spending too much. It's starting to look like Idzik is going to be too cheap.
Mr_Jet Icon : (18 August 2014 - 06:52 PM) You get what you pay for and when you let quality players go because you don't want to pay them, this is what happens. You're left with scrub players.
azjetfan Icon : (18 August 2014 - 07:55 PM) I'm still on board with the Idzik plan. Even with Revis and Revis we still are not going to the SB this year. But the down time sucks. If Milliner comes back healthy by week 3 or so we should be fine.
Mr_Jet Icon : (18 August 2014 - 08:18 PM) Regardless of our SB chances this year or next year. If Idzik keeps acting like a cheapskate and continues to let quality players go, we won't have to worry about winning much of anything this decade.
azjetfan Icon : (18 August 2014 - 09:36 PM) He wants to build through the draft. Not blow the bank on FA. I get what your saying but there is a balance and right now we are not one or two pieces away.
Mr_Jet Icon : (18 August 2014 - 11:00 PM) It's not about being one or two pieces away. It's about keeping the good pieces you have and building upon that.
Mr_Jet Icon : (18 August 2014 - 11:04 PM) But there is no sense in trying to build through the draft if he's only going to end up letting the good players he picks up go in FA after a few years. All because he wants to do things on the cheap.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:02 AM) FIRE IDZIK
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 08:33 AM) out side of Revis who left we should have kept?
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 08:34 AM) The Revis deal sucks but $16 million was too much for a CB and once he was gone he was not coming back.
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 11:00 AM) Matt Slauson
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 01:00 PM) Eh. I think with our current cap situation we will be able to retain guys like Wilkerson and whomever we want to keep. We are in a good position right now.
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 01:49 PM) Time will tell.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:00 PM) landed revis abck. got DRC, nope we take patterson who got owned and always hurt. milner always hurt. 3rd round CB done for season. were gonna get passed on all day
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 02:44 PM) Yea the DRC bit makes me iffy
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:35 PM) better then patterson
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 05:45 PM) No I mean the fact that he whiffed on him.
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 05:46 PM) I'm not saying Idzik is perfect. I just like the direction we are heading. It's going to take some patience.
RetireChrebet Icon : (Yesterday, 06:27 PM) I like how our lack of secondary is the hot topic right now. The bigger issue is we still will not be able to throw the ball. We are not going to do much of anything regardless until we get a QB. Sorry for being so negative just my honest opinion.
RetireChrebet Icon : (Yesterday, 06:29 PM) With that said I think our running game with CJ and Powell will be top 10 or somewhere around there
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:35 PM) i have faith that if geno messes up that vick can come in and do well. but i have 0 faith in our secondary right now which has been our strong point for the past 4 years or so
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 07:35 PM) I agree 115. but the one thing is Rex has done some good things in the past with shitty DBs and still had a solid D going back to his years in BAL
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 07:37 PM) Corey Ivy CB
36 Jim Leonhard SS/PR
43 Haruki Nakamura FS
25 Evan Oglesby CB
20 Ed Reed FS
22 Samari Rolle CB
39 Daren Stone FS
41 Frank Walker CB
31 Fabian Washington in 2008
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 07:39 PM) Reed is a HOF but Rolle was way past his prime
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 07:41 PM) SNOOPY BOWL FRIDAY!!!
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 07:41 PM) WOOOOOOOOOOOOO
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 08:26 PM) I assume we will pick up a guy after the cuts happen.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:14 PM) we'll see but I think we see better QB play than we have in a while.

How many DTs can one team draft. 3 years in a row nothing but defense. Say what you want but Its all rex. Idzik didn't have his GM cap on last night. You lose Keller but let Eifert drop to cincy. Looks like rex might get an extension on his contract. Robert Woods or Lacey better be a jet. I'm stunned

Explain to me why a DT with the 13th pick. Was Richardson a must a player for the jets. There are needs on this team and offense is where we stunk the past couple years. Keller gone. Missed out on Austin But the jets skipped Eifert. Rex doesn't know or care about offense. Even without Revis last the jets D held thier own. Don't tell me you love the Richardson pick. Forget about getting the best player, Go with needs. We have nothing on offense. Holes everywhere. I like Milliner pick but #13 is what I don't get when Eifert was there to take.

Thank goodness you aren't the GM. So, if Warmack wasn't picked right before the Jets, and the Jets drafted him...which by what Idzik said is what would have happened....then would Rex still have made those picks?

They went by their board...that's how you win.

The pick was good because the jets took the best player available to them. did you forget that we lost devito and cut pouha? The jets needed another d-linemen.

Also, sorry to burst your bubble but the jets have way to many needs to address in one offseason? do you honestly think the jets can address all their needs in one draft? The jets are in rebuilding mode. they aren't going to be contending for at least 2 seasons if were lucky. at this point you take the best players you can so that when the time if right, you can start drafting for need.

Personally I liked vacurro from texas, and was suprised with the richardson pick but I like what the jets did yesterday considering the jets should be in line for a top 5 pick next year. Just keep grabbing the best players available on the big board and load this team up with starters.

I love how people are ready to deem this a "terrible draft" after 1/4 of the damn thing.

The jets have the worst offense on any roster in the league. In this case, I would forget the best player avaliable. Its like Keller never existed. When the pocket collapse and Sanchez is holding the ball in his hip, who is he going to go to. Keller was his safety blanket. How did that work out last year. I wouldn't be upset if they traded the 13th pick and moved down. The mid rounds is deep. We don't have all the picks like 49ers to play with. I look forward to many butt fumbles if the offense is not addressed. The best player rule didn't apply last night when you have nothing on offense. Tonight is big for the jets.

Personally, I believe we need the offense to suck next year. The jets need to land a franchise qb next year. your coming off like you think this offense has a chance at producing next year if we were able to grab (name a prospect here). a terrible offense will more than likely be a good thing next year. there should actually be first round quarterbacks available on the 14' draft. Cant be so short sited. aside from austin and 0-linemen, name an offensive player that was worth a pick at 9 or 13? EIFERT? The bears even passed on him when everyone and their mothers thought thats where we would never fall past.

Also, something to think about. Think of all of the great tight ends in the NFL right now....now think about about their QB's. Just saying....most of them have elite QB's, right? I'd rather draft a TE after we have a QB in place for the long haul.

I'm glad you said that. I was thinking about us tank the season for 2014. I'm all for throwing every game for Teddy Bridgewater. As it stands now, we stink on offense. I already tank the season by cancelling my Direct TV NFL package after years of paying to see garbage on the field. They're not getting my $250 this year. I'm streaming every game on my apple TV. I hope there's more like you who wants the jets to suck for 2014.

We can still get a TE tonight.... Zach Ertz and Travis Kelce are both good players.

The Jets top 4 rated players in the draft were Tavon Austin, Chance Warmack, Dee Milliner, and Sheldon Richardson...

You guys can complain all you want about the Jets not drafting position players on offense, but looking back at the draft, majority of the picks were trench guys. Out of the first 13 picks, only one WR was picked (Rams with Austin). Out of 32 picks, only 5 skill positions were drafted (Austin @ 8, Manuel @ 16, Eifert @ 21, Hopkins @ 27, Patterson @ 29). I'm glad the Jets stuck to their board and made their picks. Hopefully, the offensive side of the ball is addressed today.

Thank God they didnt get their "top rated" player then. But just out of curiosity, where'd you get these names from saying they were the top rated?

Manish tweeted it. He said if Tavon fell to 9 that is who we were going to take. The Jets were also going to take Chance Warmack at 13 if he fell there. The Jets played their draft board.

I would have been happier with Austin and Warmack, since our offense would be improved. But I guess you can't complain if these picks come in and play right away and we got ourselves long time starters.

The morning after: I'm very happy with the draft so far. We may have pulled off a great move with the Richardson pick

Yeah, even though I really liked Star. If the Jets wanted an interior pass rusher, Richardson is the best in this class.

right blame rex. idzik is making the picks not rex. and with that said you build from the trecnhes, that is where games are won... but i still hate the pic for teh simple fact that we ignored the OLB need again

Maybe this pick is with the 4-3 in mind...in which case they don't need another rusher.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want the jets to suck next year, but come on...you just kind of have to accept what is right there in front of you. It is what it is. The jets just don't have a very talented team right now. Holes everywhere...including the DL and at CB. I'm sorry you want to cancel your direct tv sunday ticket package because you want more excitement on offense. Well according to reports both guys the jets wanted on offense were taken...so you want the jets to reach for different offensive players when they had two defensive prospects rated higher than everyone else? You don't draft for need if you are a shitty team. You take the best available players...im just happy you arent the GM. "man, I wanted to get austin and Warmack but they were both taken. Guess we'll have to take long and patterson since those guys were the best available at the position of need." Imagine those two guys going at 9 and 13...everyone would be flipping out.
