MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:31 PM) if I'm wrong I will eat m crow
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:39 PM) Some mocks had him top 10
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:42 PM) this guy is small
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:45 PM) Most mocks had Lee at 17 to the Falcons
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:45 PM) He's a day 1 starter for us. We've needed OLB forever
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:46 PM) Plus we generate a great rush from wilk rich and Williams
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:50 PM) I wanted Lawson bad
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:50 PM) f***ing bills
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:51 PM) Lee fills a need better
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:52 PM) I would have liked tunsil to slide to us though. After east picking great
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:52 PM) Would you take Lee over Lawson?
azjetfan Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:55 PM) I'm not inspire by that pick. Not even a little
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 10:01 PM) Wasn't an option. Lawson was gone
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 10:02 PM) Lawson is more of a de. We already have too many of those. We only have 1 proven LBer and he's 32 and we run a 3-4. Lee is a day 1 starter
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 10:03 PM) Broncos traded up for lynch
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 10:41 PM) Round 1 is done
2JBallar01 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 12:43 AM) He will play ILB for us.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 11:08 AM) http://nyjetsfan.com...showtopic=38865
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 11:19 AM) jets tried to trade up for tunsil but the price was too high
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 05:10 PM) Tunsil will end up out of the league
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 05:12 PM) Lee isn't a pass rusher, hes a fast athletic LB. Hes probably their future at ILB, someone who can cover in the middle
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 06:16 PM) jets said he's an ILB for us
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 06:17 PM) If we could grab jack he would be an OLB
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 06:17 PM) ttians have 3 picks in the next 13 picks
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 06:33 PM) jack to jax 36th overal
ganggreen2003 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 06:33 PM) Did you hear that the 1st round pick for the Browns RETIRED after getting drafted
SoReALSoJetS Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:29 PM) Hi guys long time no talk hope everyone is well
Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:46 PM) SMH
ganggreen2003 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:46 PM) JETS drafted QB Hackenberg PSU
Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:47 PM) Should have picked Connor Cook.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:56 PM) I guess we are giving up on petty
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 09:02 PM) Or giving up on geno
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 09:02 PM) I said the rumor was they liked him more then cook
Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 11:35 PM) I know I'm biased, but I've seen them both play. Cook is just better. Hackenberg had one good year. Cook has won more games, played in big games and won them....whatever, its done now so no sense on dwelling on it I guess. I just don't see the appeal in Hackenberg, nice kid, but I always thought he was really overrated. Oh well. I would have taken Kevin Hogan over Hackenberg.
azjetfan Icon : (30 April 2016 - 03:47 PM) From what I have read so far he had a great freshman year under Obrien in a pro style offense. At that point some considered him the next Andrew luck. Then Obrien left and they shifted to a spread under new HC who did poor job bringing in talent. He was also sacked and hit a million times. Might be shell shocked.
Smedsthejet Icon : (01 May 2016 - 06:17 AM) But Chan Gailey runs a spread system - still, I'm comfortable with the Hackenberg pick seeing as Gailey will develop the system to suit his strength... I'm just glad that we passed on Paxton Lynch in the first...we still desperately need Fitz to re-sign though
azjetfan Icon : (01 May 2016 - 07:14 PM) From my understanding the spread in college and the spread in NFL are not the same principals. I really think it was more of a talent issue and getting sacked 80 times in 2 years that did him in. I have no idea if he will make it. I don't follow college ball enough to to know. Theses are just things I read in articles.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (02 May 2016 - 10:24 AM) I'm stoked about getting peake in the 7th round. that was a steal. he was a projected 3rd rounder. wonder what scared teams away
Jetsfan115 Icon : (02 May 2016 - 06:05 PM) Jets Invite Terron Beckham(Odell's Cousin) to Minicamp
Jetsfan115 Icon : (02 May 2016 - 06:06 PM) Listed as a RB had more bench presses and highest vertical of anyone this year. Hasn't played football since high school and apparently not very smart
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:16 PM) The Jets had Hackenberg as their #2 rated QB
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:16 PM) Apparently, they loved Golf and tried to trade up. When that failed, their #2 QB was Hackenberg, they fell in love with his football IQ
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:17 PM) It would be a mistake to start him right away, hes a guy who needs development. He has the talent, and apparently he has good leadership skills and football IQ. His mechanics are off though

I don't understand draft grades during and right after the draft. These drafted players haven't even played one game yet. You can't truly grade a draft until 2 or 3 years after that draft. We won't know if these players are any good until 2015 or 2016. These websites and "experts" don't know anymore than anybody else when it comes to who will be good and who won't be. It's just too early to tell.

Agreed. Its like judging how good a pizza will taste before it comes out of the oven.

This man drafted or acquired about 6 starters for us this draft and you hate him?
Two words: Chris Ivory.

6 might be pushing it a little but this has to be the best draft we have had since Mangini. On paper anyway.

This is the best draft since 2000.

true but if i'm allergic to fish and they give me an anchovy pizza, i can make a good assumption that its not the right pizza for me. sure it could be tasty and other could enjoy it, but its not the right pick for me

This is actually correct. i don't hate the giants but right now i do hate idzik.

Not trying to start any $hit, but hypothetically........being COMPLETELY hypothetical here.....say Revis' knee injury had ended his career and he retired rather than having been traded........would you have graded the draft any differently? This is a serious question.

I think I'd say the overall draft would be a B. The Milliner pick, my jury is still out on merely because of his injury issues. The Richardson pick is going to be a diamond in the rough I think purely because the more homework I do on the kid, the more impressed I get. He could be a beast inside which IF Rex does the right thing and moves Coples outside, we COULD actually have a pass rush again.

The building up of the line.......needed to be done as we've had ZERO depth in far too many years.

I'm also including the Chris Ivory trade in the draft since it's as if we drafted him in a 4th round considering that's all we gave up for him. 5.1 avg YPC, has decent blocking ability & soft hands? DEFINITELY got over on New Orleans on that one.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

When someone annoys u, it takes 42 muscles in ur face 2 frown. BUT, it only takes 4 muscles 2 extend ur arm & b!tch-slap that mother@*?!&! upside the head!!

richardson is a 4-3 DT by most accounts. not a NT, millner wil never be revis. our 2nd and 3rd round picks were the only good picks we made

Who said we will not be running a 4 man front? It would make sense we are since we released Scott, Pace and Thomas. Millner will probably never be a Revis but once again CBs dont win SBs. He needs to be a good CB not a great one. No relavence there. How many Elite CBs were in the playoffs last year?

Seriously yes i would have.

I would have given a higher grade to millner. we traded him becuase we can't afford to pay revis and also so we could get a draft pick to get an offensive playmaker or pass rusher. had revis retired we wouldn't have had the 13th overall so it would have been just milner to replace a retired player of the same position and geno at QB. but overall the draft still would be a C for the lack of getting a pass rusher.

Jetsfan115 also said that he doesn't care if the player is good or not, as long as he fills a need...

Idzik went best available, got some good players at good value. I think that he got 5 starters in this draft, including Chris Ivory.

And people really need to stop getting to caught up in 3-4, 4-3. The Jets run a multiple set defense, they rarely are in a 3-4. Rex will be able to get Richardson, Wilkerson, and Coples onto the field.

wow way to twist my words and take it out of context 0099. for the record i never said that. Re-read what i wrote.

and BPA is relative as its based on the jets board and we don't really know if they were BPA on our board. you can't confirm its what he did. millner was BPA on most boards but he fell due to 5 surgeries and do to teams choosing pass rushers over CBs. we needed a pass rusher, they were all gone, we should have traded down.

right form the shoutbox. i didn't say he wasn't good, what i said was that i wanted him to fill some holes. i never said he sucked. it is possible to fill a hole with a good player. all signs point to geno being good. the value was there and the need was there. he might not have been BPA but he was the Bets player to fill a big need. milner and richardson were not. didn't a stud safety get drafted a couple picks after richardson? i would have rather had the safety

You know you need a partner to trade down right? You can't just unilaterally trade your pick to someone below you. You have no idea if they fielded offers or not, so stop speculating that they didn't even try.

bills traded down 1 pick before us and STL took one of the players we were targeting. also why did we almost run out of time on both picks? cause we weren't prepared. if we really were doing BPA we would have made our picks right away/ a few teams traded up in the draft. there were partners out there. we were unprepared for the draft and reacted instead of being proactive
