Jetsfan115 Icon : (06 June 2016 - 11:23 AM) line is in. jets are favorites for 5 games, pick for 2, and underdog for 9

santana Icon : (12 June 2016 - 03:54 PM) JETS JETS JETS
santana Icon : (13 June 2016 - 09:28 AM) Update on the #Jets situation with Ryan Fitzpatrick: Nothing. … Just nothing. Doesn't seem like things will change heading into minicamp.

ganggreen2003 Icon : (15 July 2016 - 04:06 PM) The JETS shouldn't of signed wilkerson to such a big contract
ganggreen2003 Icon : (15 July 2016 - 04:07 PM) he doesn't deserve $17 mil/year cause he is coming off an injury...he should of earned it by playing this year as the Franchise tag and then if he played lights out then you open the vault
MikeGangGree... Icon : (15 July 2016 - 04:21 PM) WOOOOOOOO
RetireChrebet Icon : (15 July 2016 - 04:58 PM) How much guaranteed money? also does this mean hes here for 6 years since he's tagged? how does that work?
MikeGangGree... Icon : (15 July 2016 - 10:20 PM) Now cut that street thug Wilkerson!!
NJAzrael71 Icon : (16 July 2016 - 03:47 AM) 54 million guaranteed
NJAzrael71 Icon : (16 July 2016 - 03:48 AM) 54 guaranteed against injury but 37 in straight guaranteed money without injury
NJAzrael71 Icon : (16 July 2016 - 03:49 AM) Should've waited till after the season to see how he comes off the injury but I guess they figure he wouldn't have signed if they waited another year
vjdbbq Icon : (17 July 2016 - 07:32 PM) Where is ROB and his ass ?
Jetsfan115 Icon : (18 July 2016 - 10:27 AM) guess that means richardson is gone after this season. Maybe we can franchise and trade him

Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 July 2016 - 10:25 AM) darron lee still isn't signed... greedy street thug lol
MikeGangGree... Icon : (22 July 2016 - 05:31 PM) Rich is under contract for next year and we used a team option for 17 already so he's a jet for 2 more year's for sure unless we trade him.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 02:38 PM) We need to quit screwing around and sign Fitzpatrick

i just think idzik dind't want to pay keller to be honest. maybe it had to do with his relationship to mark, who knows. either way we shouldn't have let keller walk to such a small deal. had they given him like 4 years 30 mil i would have understand like i did with landry. but keller has been our leading receiver for 2 of the past 3 years and would have been last year if not the injuries. he had speed, good route runner, good hands, good down the seam, and always fought for yards. only downfall was his blocking. geno could have really used keller in the future

I'd argue that...I think the only thing he had on that list was speed. Obviously I'm just talking memory, so hardly scientific...but I just feel as if I've seen more than enough dropped passes from Keller. I definitely don't agree with the "fight for yards" part, either. I feel every time he encountered a defender in the open field he did some sort of lame juke and tried to jump over them, which always resulted in the defender cutting his legs and Keller falling flat on his face.

I dunno, I'm perfectly fine with the Jets letting Keller go...I don't think the Jets could have gotten the deal he took in Miami. He probably wanted more, and when the Jets didn't offer it he was upset by it so he went to the open market...and found nothing. He probably didn't want to return to the Jets at this point so took the only thing he could get.

Once again, like Revis, the proof is in the pudding. If that one-year deal from Miami is the best Keller could get, it seems obvious the entire league doesn't view Keller as that great of a player.

Personally I think Keller did not want to be here. I think the NY media and fickle fan base wears on players and coaches who have weak minds. He is the only departure that does not make sense to me. That leads me to believe there is more to it.

sure its a possibility that keller wanted out for some reason o i decided to do some research and found this

Keller’s agent met with the Jets brass at the NFL scouting combine last month, but Keller remains unsure just how much the team wants him back. He has not spoken to new GM John Idzik, but has heard from new offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg.

“I have talked to Coach Mornhinweg and he made clear to me that he would like to have me back, but the guys upstairs may have different thoughts than the coaches,” Keller said.

sounds like idzik wanted him gone

except your missing the point that this year there is no market for FAs. in previousl years many FAs would get 10+ million a year. this year i think landry had the biggest deal and it was only 6 mil a year
