Joe Namath took more swings at the Jets on Thursday on WFAN, saying he was tired of the way coach Rex Ryan falsely pumps up the talent of the team in the preseason, Seth Walder of the New York Daily News reports.
“I want to be honest. I think they’ve been deceptive,” said Namath. “Continually telling us how good they are. Last year going into the season, the 'best team' Rex has had.”
The Super Bowl-winning quarterback said he hasn’t met John Idzik yet, and discussed his icy relationship with owner Woody Johnson.
“I have not been on good terms with Mr. Johnson for the last couple of years,” Namath said. He added that he isn’t pleased with the Personal Seat Licenses in MetLife Stadium. “It’s greed and it’s unfair,” Namath said.
When asked about Namath’s comments, Rex Ryan said, “Joe, just like anybody else, has a right to his opinion.”
come on joe, do you want ryan to say his team sucks and he'll be lucky to win 4 games? the woody part i kinda agree with
