Jetsfan0099 Icon : (28 June 2015 - 10:10 AM) Is there any chance that Porzingis ends up being good?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (28 June 2015 - 10:10 AM) I'm guessing he won't be the next Pau Gasol or Dirk Nowviski
Mr_Jet Icon : (28 June 2015 - 11:41 AM) You never know, he could be as good as Gasol brothers or Dirk. Honestly the Knicks picking at #4 did the same thing the 3 teams picking ahead of them did. Picked a 19 year who could go boom or bust.
Mr_Jet Icon : (28 June 2015 - 11:45 AM) Porzingis seems to have the "I'm going to prove them wrong" type of attitude needed to overcome people's doubts about him. Hopefully he'll have the work ethic that goes along with that attitude.

jets4life Icon : (30 July 2015 - 07:54 PM) Mike Freeman of the B/R has spoken to three NFL sources who all said they think Jets DE Sheldon Richardson Will Never Play Another Down In The Nfl following this arrest.

Freeman’s sources all pointed to the 12-year child and the loaded handgun in the car as two major concerns regarding the incident.
We’ll have more details regarding Richardson as the news is available.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (30 July 2015 - 08:44 PM) do we need to get rid of sheldon?

azjetfan Icon : (30 July 2015 - 09:20 PM) Was he charged with child endangerment?

Chaos Icon : (31 July 2015 - 07:29 AM) i'm sure he's going to be suspended for more than 4 games though
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (31 July 2015 - 10:16 AM) Richardson is a moron

Quote

Let's imagine you could pick one player from another team to put on the Jets. The Jets would not have to give his old team any compensation. The salary cap would be no issue. Since quarterbacks have an outsized effect on the game, let's eliminate them from consideration.

My pick would be Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.

Here's why:

  • The pick really needs to be an offensive player. Most of the talent on the Jets is on the defensive side of the ball. In addition, Rex Ryan is supposed to theoretically make a defense better than the sum of its parts. The Jets offense has held the team back during the Ryan Era. Peterson is probably the most valuable non-quarterback in the league.
  • Peterson would instantly give the Jets a play they could run in any situation and have a high probability of gaining good yardage, a handoff.
  • Life would be made much easier on rookie quarterback Geno Smith. Defenses would have to play the run first. This would slow down pass rushers. Play action would freeze the defense. Other teams couldn't throw exotic fronts because defenders might run themselves out of plays. With the normal back, this results in a nice game. With Peterson, it likely means a touchdown.
  • Life would also be easier on wide receivers. Since opposing teams would have to use both safeties in the run game, the receivers would have to face simple coverages and clean throwing lanes. The wide receivers on the Jets surely could use help like this.

I think Peterson is the obvious choice. Do you agree? Would you take somebody different? Remember, no quarterbacks allowed.

Let's hear who you would pick. Remember, NO QUARTERBACKS!

There are a few things I have realized about Mr. Jet over a few topics.

1) He is a racist. By constantly using race as a battling tool.
2) He is an extreme Liberal. If you are on either extreme you are probabaly more wrong than right.
3) He is one of those people who will never admit fault, error or defeat.
4)His life sucks and he takes it out on people who don't share in his views.

Megatron. While Adrian Peterson is far and away the best RB, I still think you can get above average-great production from a 4th round rookie RB...the same of which can not be said for WR.

You want to help out Geno Smith, get him the best WR in the game who will a)get himself wide open, and b)catch a bunch of shitty passes and make the QB look good.

Megaton without a doubt, though if he ever signed with the Jets the fan base would despise him, call him greedy at every turn and beg for him to be traded

When you consider the HB gets more touches than any position out side of the QB I would have to go with that position. With that being said I would take A.D. The thing about taking a WR is who is going to throw him the ball?

Geno Smith maybe??? Calvin makes qbs better and giving a young qb little to throw to isn't. Smart

But a strong running game would be smart for a young QB.

With this teams current state, I don't think you can take a WR. Look at larry fitz and his QB situation. Arguably the best WR in the NFL as far as talent goes. after the hell he had to go through last year, seems like most people have forgot about him. Gotta go with a RB and peterson is the very obvious choice although I wouldn't mind me some Arian Foster either.

Offense - Rob Gronkowski (when healthy). A dominant wide receiver on the outside like Calvin Johnson would do this team wonders, but a TE as good as Gronkowski is arguably causes more mismatch problems for defenses.

Defense - apart from Revis, DeMarcus Ware - simple really, the Jets have been dying for an effective pass rusher, let alone one with the skills of Ware.

If we're picking offense and defense, then for my player on offense I choose 49ers right tackle Anthony Davis.

Davis, Mangold, & Ferguson.

Who said anything about turning the franchise around? It's going to take more than one or two players for that to happen.
