New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was questioned by police in Massachusetts on Monday as part of an investigation into a possible homicide, according to a report from Sports Illustrated's Pete Thamel and Greg Bedard. While Hernandez is not believed to be a suspect, police may want to search his home, a source told SI.

According to the report, a vehicle rented in Hernandez's name emerged as a key piece of evidence in the investigation. Police reportedly identified a rented Chevrolet Suburban in connection with a possible homicide and Hernandez's name is associated with the rental. The investigation comes after a jogger found the body of a 27-year-old man on Monday less than a mile from Hernandez' house in North Attleboro, Mass.

The investigation appears to be in the early stages as police are still waiting to analyze the vehicle for fingerprints. Hernandez did not return a call from Sports Illustrated, but a source inside the investigation confirmed he did speak to police in relation to the case.

Investigators are seeking a warrant to search Hernandez's home in connection with the death, sources told ABC News.

Hernandez has been uncooperative with police since the body of a 27-year-old man was found in an industrial park not far from the Patriot player's North Attleboro home, two law enforcement sources said.

New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will face a lawsuit for allegedly shooting a man after an altercation at a Miami strip club.

TMZ.com broke news of this stunning development, as the lawsuit was filed in Florida federal court on Wednesday—five days prior to authorities searching Hernandez's Massachusetts home for an apparently unrelated homicide case.

Pats' TE Hernandez directly tied to homicide investigation

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Authorities returned to the sprawling North Attleboro home of Patriots' TE Aaron Hernandez Wednesday and searched the surrounding neighborhood and its streets as part of their homicide investigation, police said.

Police confirmed Wednesday night that the body found near Hernandez's home Monday was that of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, of Dorchester. His death has been deemed a homicide.

A law enforcement official tells FOX 25 Hernandez appears to be directly tied to the homicide which is why authorities executed a search warrant at his home Tuesday night. According to the same source, Hernandez, Lloyd, and two other men were at a bar in Boston the night of the homicide, and at some point, the four men left together in a car driven by Hernandez which was confirmed by a text Lloyd sent another friend, the source says.

It is unclear where the car went or what happened during the ride, but according to the source only three men returned to Hernandez's home at the end of the night and Lloyd was not one of them.

The source also says forensic evidence places a vehicle driven by Hernandez at one of the crime scenes in this case.

Troopers returned to Hernandez's $1.3 million home Wednesday morning, but no one answered. Hernandez returned home during the early afternoon Wednesday, wearing a Patriots sweatshirt and a red hat and carrying what looked like a sports drink. He did not speak to a crowd of reporters staked out about 100 feet away.

Later Wednesday, at least seven state troopers searched both sides of a road just off the street where Hernandez lives. The troopers also searched the industrial park where the body was found and within the Westwood Estates development. The officers used thin poles to pull back plants and search through undergrowth along the road.

Among other items, police said they are searching for a silver mirror cover which is believed to have been broken off a vehicle and may be visible along a route of travel between Dorchester and North Attleboro.

Police have also issued a "BOLO" or "be on the lookout" for a silver Chrysler 300 rental car with Rhode Island registration which may have a connection to the homicide.

While the scene at Hernandez's home was active Wednesday, it pales in comparison to Tuesday's activity when authorities spent three hours inside the football player's home and came out carrying a large box.

FOX 25 believes Hernandez may have hired a lawyer because a courier from Boston law firm Ropes & Gray delivered an envelope to the home Tuesday.

According to Sports Illustrated, Hernandez was questioned Monday evening in connection with the death. While Hernandez is not believed to be a suspect, a 2013 Chevrolet Suburban rented in his name emerged as a key piece of evidence in the investigation. The vehicle was registered to Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Hernandez is represented by the Athletes First agency, which said it has no comment "on the Aaron Hernandez situation."

Hernandez, a University of Florida Graduate and native of Bristol, Conn., was drafted by the Patriots in 2010. He had five touchdowns for the Pats during the 2012 season.

If you have any information, please contact North Attleboro Police at (508) 695-1212 or Massachusetts State Police tip line at 1-866-SOLVE-07 (765-8307).

Hernandez might want to call Ray Lewis to get his lawyer's number. This is getting serious now.

If he doesn't then Rae Carruth might be seeing less double coverage from the prison team defence.

Police plan to go back to the home of New England Patriot's tight end Aaron Hernandez today with another warrant based on evidence that "he destroyed his home security system,'' an investigator close to the case told ABC News.

The investigator, and other law enforcement sources, confirmed that the security system - which included video surveillance - was smashed intentionally.

And a cell phone used by Hernandez was handed over to investigators "in pieces'' by his attorneys, the sources said.

Police also want to know why a team of house cleaners were hired on Monday to scrub Hernandez's mansion, sources told ABC News.

The revelations come as multiple sources tell ABC News that the star NFL player has not been ruled out as a suspect in the murder of a semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd, 27, who was Hernandez's friend.

Hernandez has been at the center of the investigation since Lloyd's body was found shot in the back of the head in a scrubby clearing of an industrial park roughly a mile from the Patriots star's million-dollar mansion in North Attleborough Monday.

Police believe Lloyd was killed between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Monday, but his well dressed body was not found until 5:30 p.m. by a teenage jogger, several law enforcement sources told ABC News on the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss the case.

"He [Hernandez] has not been ruled out. We are not calling him a suspect, but he is definitely not in the clear," said one police official close to the investigation.

This shit just keeps getting worse and worse.

http://profootballta...heard-gunshots/

The latest development comes from FOX 25, which reports that neighbors heard gunshots early Monday morning. Per FOX 25, video shows Hernandez and two other men walking into his house “within minutes” after the shots were heard.

FOX 25 reports that the shots were heard by neighbors between 3:00 and 3:30 a.m. ET on Monday, but that they didn’t report the noise to police at the time.

This guy is definitely nothing but a thug. This along with this shooting lawsuit proves it. One thing could be coincidence but two instances makes it undeniable. I really hope he gets life and doesn't get away with it.

Aaron Hernandez is being sued in Florida (USA Today Sports Images)

As the Massachusetts State police continue to investigate Aaron Hernandez's connection to a homicide in North Attleboro, Mass., a Connecticut man has filed a lawsuit in the state of Florida alleging that the New England Patriots tight end shot him in the face following an argument in mid-February.

Initially reported by TMZ.com, Alexander S. Bradley, an acquaintance of Hernandez, filed a lawsuit in South Florida district court on June 13 alleging that, following an argument at a Miami strip club, a gun — possessed illegally by Hernandez — was pointed at Bradley and discharged while the two men were driving from Miami to Palm Beach, Fla.

According to the complaint, a copy of which you can read below, Bradley suffered bodily injury, including the loss of his right eye. The suit alleges that Bradley has begun what will be a series of reconstructive surgeries to his face and that he has sustained additional injuries caused by this incident that "will require extensive medical care and treatment for the rest of his life".

The lawsuit was withdrawn on Monday, June 17, but Mike Garafolo of the USA Today reports that Bradley's counsel claims there was a paperwork error. David Jaroslawicz, co-counsel for Bradley, told Garafolo that the suit will be refiled on Wednesday.

Bradley is seeking damages in excess of $100,000 from Hernandez, who signed a five-year, $37.5 million contract extension with the Patriots last August that contained over $16 million in guaranteed money, mostly in the form of a $12.5 million signing bonus. According to a source with knowledge of Hernandez's contract extension, payments totaling more than 50 percent of that signing bonus were deferred to future years, however, $9.25 million was doled out between Aug. 27, 2012 and March 31, 2013. The final $3.25 million is not scheduled to be paid until March 31, 2014.

As for why Hernandez was not charged in that February incident, Jaroslawicz tells USA Today that his client was in the hospital for weeks and said that he was "sure the police were there". A spokesman for Miami-Dade police were checking to see if a police report was filed.

I agree that we shouldn't rush to judgement but the overall feeling is that this guy spent a good amount of time destroying evidence, which obviously looks very very suspicious. Also, there is a sense that athletes can literally get away with murder so the "put him directly to jail" sentiment is not a personal attack against him, more of a sentiment that if you have enough money, you will be able to circumvent the Constitution.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport on Thursday obtained a May incident report involving New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. According to the report, a New York Jets fan confronted Aaron Hernandez in Providence, R.I., and officers were called to disperse the gathering crowd. Hernandez was trying to walk away, the report stated, but the man kept taunting him.

While Hernandez was returning to his vehicle, an unknown man was seen dropping a gun under a vehicle.

The report didn't state whether the man seen discarding the gun, a .22 Jimenez, was in any way connected to Hernandez.

SI.com reported Thursday that Michael E. Correia, a detective captain with Providence police, said officers didn't know the identity of the man who discarded the gun. Police also said they didn't know "which side of the altercation" the man was on, SI.com reported.

According to the incident report, Hernandez was taunted for three blocks near Thayer and Waterman streets in Providence on May 18.

Fearing a physical altercation might happen, police intervened and dispersed the "large crowd." They also kept people from following Hernandez to his vehicle, per the report.

During that time, an officer wrote in the report that he saw a man "discard a handgun under a vehicle" in front of Kartabar. The man left before police could talk to him.

We can't convict him solely based on our feelings from news reports though. He has to have a trial first. He probably is guilty, but they still have to give him due process before he can be locked up for life. ROBJETS was being over the top.
