Jets drop game vs packers MNf next
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:47 PM) The should have made sure he knew who was calling the time out. Hell Rex was on his right and Marty was on his left.
mgjetman Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:47 PM) Getting lazy with a minute 50 on the clock before half was the nail in the coffin.
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:48 PM) The ref
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:49 PM) There is plenty of blame to spread around. No team should lose a 17 point lead anyway.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:50 PM) DUDS - Miliner and Marty
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:50 PM) BRUTAL LOSS
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:52 PM) I really don't blame Marty because it's the refs job to make sure he sees who is calling the timeout. Plus the ball had already been snapped before he even noticed somebody was calling a TO.
mgjetman Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:53 PM) Just gave that game away. WTH!!!
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:54 PM) He didn't even blow the whistle until Geno already had dropped back to pass. The play was already well underway.
bleedsgreen Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:03 PM) I heard it when the ball was already in the air
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) but it shouldn't of come down to that TO blunder
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) we did give up a 18 point lead
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) so we fucked up and lost
bleedsgreen Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) True
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) time to get ready for MNF
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) Well it sucks when you start to feel the jets are going to lose the game them selves
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) the Vick play worthless
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) that run on 3rd and 5 worthless
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) chris Johnson also I don't know what his numbers were but ivory seemed to be a better back
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:13 PM) Marty just picks the worse time to call those wildcat plays
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:13 PM) they are drive killers
ROBJETS Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:27 PM) Problem is the corners. We knew this before the start of the season. I was amazed at how well they did last week and the first half but eventually the weakness showed
ROBJETS Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:28 PM) The corner positions will be addressed next year. Technically we are still in a rebuilding phase.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:39 PM) we did go toe to toe against a SB contender and we really shouldn't be heartbroken but if you call yourself a JETS fan and aren't a little pissed over a W that we had in our control then you need to go and hand in your JETS gear ... I'm looking at you 115
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 08:24 PM) 18 penalties in 2 games
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 08:25 PM) unacceptable
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 08:27 PM) Geno dropped from #1 to #28 in TOTAL QBR
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 09:10 PM) Cutler just got popped right in the chest
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 09:11 PM) that was a squared up right in the middle of the chest hit
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 09:13 PM) nice one handed catch by Marshall
MikeGangGree... Icon : (14 September 2014 - 10:06 PM) NFL rules state that only the head coach can call a timeout on the sidelines…

Except in Green Bay where anybody up to the third row can call a timeout.

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Finally, it looked and sounded like training camp, as the Jets practiced for the first time in pads. Observations:

GENO'S TURN: As per the quarterback rotation, rookie Geno Smith led the first-team offense in an abbreviated afternoon practice. For now, the plan is to have Smith and Mark Sanchez alternate every third practice. So far, they've responded well to the competition. Three days, no lousy practices. In fact, they've yet to throw an interception in team drills.

Smith said he will benefit from practicing against the starting defense.
"Going against the first-team defense is a lot different because there are a lot of veterans on that side and they know how to disguise things, so that makes it a bit tougher," he said after practice.

Smith was sharp, completing four of six passes (one drop). He was sacked twice. He made the best throw of the day, a 50-yard strike to WR Stephen Hill, who is having a nice camp. Because of his athleticism, Smith brings a different dimension to the offense. It showed up in this practice on a couple of running plays.

Smith said he's "pretty comfortable" on designed runs, claiming he's up for anything. At West Virginia, he wasn't particularly effective. You get the impression that he'd rather be known as a pocket passer, but he said, "I've always been the same quarterback. I hate the label that people try to put on quarterbacks. I do whatever it takes to win."

Sanchez (5-for-7, one sack) was consistent, if not spectacular. One trend that already is emerging in camp: Sanchez can handle the basic stuff better than Smith, but Smith has the ability to make the "wow" plays. Sanchez's best throw was a deep out to rookie WR Ryan Spadola.

ATTENDANCE REPORT: The offense was without four key players -- RB Mike Goodson (not in camp), RB Chris Ivory (hamstring), TE Kellen Winslow and WR Braylon Edwards. It was a rest day for Winslow and Edwards, both of whom are on a pitch count. Winslow, he of the chronic knee problems, was spotted afterward with a heavy wrap on his knee. Presumably, it was just precautionary. Ivory is expected to return in the coming days, perhaps as soon as Monday. RB Joe McKnight, who experienced dehydration at the start of camp, struggled through practice.

REAL CONTACT: They opened practice with a 9-on-9 drill, a run-only session. McKnight, Bilal Powell and John Griffin were the primary ball carriers, but the running game featured an array of runs. Smith put a nice open-field move on a would-be tackler. OC Marty Mornhinweg is known as a passing coach, but the Jets absolutely must be able to run the ball to have success. They have to reduce the burden on the quarterback.

HIGHS AND LOWS: WR Jeremy Kerley, yet to hit his stride in camp, had a bad drop. Ditto, TE Konrad Reuland. ... TE Jeff Cumberland, having a quiet camp, made a leaping grab on a deep sideline route from Sanchez. ... Rookie DT Sheldon Richardson blew up a blocker and tackled McKnight for a loss. ... OLB Ricky Sapp notched a sack. ... A few penalty flags were thrown with the Sanchez-led offense on the field. ... Newly-signed RB Chad Spann broke a long run. ... QB Greg McElroy uncorked his daily duck.

Smith is the more talented player but Sanchez being a 5th year pro should be doing the small things better.

Sounds like these players have been impressing so far.

Stephen Hill, not dropping passes and getting off of the press better.

Clyde Gates, reports say hes like a different receiver with running routes and has been very impressive.

Muhammad Wilkerson, of course.

Quinton Coples, dropped down to 278 and has showed off his athleticism.

Ricky Sapp, he was last yaer as well so we should wait.

Sanchez and Smith, both have looked good, but Smith has been the more impressive in terms of big plays.

Antonio Allen and Jarrett at safety.

Antonio Cromartie has been stepping up as a leader.

Sheldon Richardson seems like hes the real deal.

Doesn't McKnight get dehydrated every training camp?
Sal Paolantonio commenting on the difference in the Ryan and Mangini atmospheres in the building:
"It's like going from Alcatraz to Dorney Park."

It is better to destroy than create what is meaningless, so the picture will not be finished.

Any news on how the offensive line is shaping up? Would be interesting to hear how Brian Winters is performing and whether he'll potentially beat out Peterman or Colon.

Hopefully this will be his breakout year. I'm sure he worked on his hands ability during the offseason even though I get the feeling a lot of it was/is mental for him.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

When someone annoys u, it takes 42 muscles in ur face 2 frown. BUT, it only takes 4 muscles 2 extend ur arm & b!tch-slap that mother@*?!&! upside the head!!
