MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 April 2015 - 07:09 PM) Jets open at home against the browns
ganggreen2003 Icon : (21 April 2015 - 07:52 PM) Week 5 Bye after the London Game against the Dolphags
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 09:17 AM) Rivers is likely going to Tennessee. Would LOVE to have him here but we likely won't make the trade. I'd easily give this year and next year
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 09:17 AM) 's first rounder for him
azjetfan Icon : (22 April 2015 - 11:03 AM) IMO that's a steep price. I would swap this years first and a conditional 1st next year. Assuming we make the AFC Championship. That would be a 28-32nd pick. Otherwise a second.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 01:07 PM) Yes 2 1st is a lot
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 01:10 PM) draft is next week, pumped
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 03:02 PM) What are thoughts on getting a RB in round 1? McShay's newest mock has us taking Gurley at 6. I don't think we should take him that high, but if we trade down and he's available I'd love to snag him, ACL and all. He's got an unreal skill set that, once healthy, will translate readily to the NFL. We're not getting a QB this year without paying a king's ransom, and unless we pay a ransom for a top guy I say ignore QB. I don't want us to take a Hundley or Petty type in the 2nd or 3rd round when we need other pieces (edge rush, OL)
azjetfan Icon : (22 April 2015 - 03:09 PM) We can probably get Gordon in the second. I would pass at 6. If QB is not available a pass rusher will be. Our biggest needs are QB Pass rusher and Oline.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 03:34 PM) any thourghts on shane ray? i see a lot of mocks have us drafting him
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:35 PM) last one i seen had us taking cooper, a RB, and hundley for our 1st 3 picks. not thrilled about that
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:38 PM) I don't like Gordon much. Not much of a receiver or blocker, ball security issues, tries to bounce outside too much, stuffed frequently. Gurley is in a league of his own
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:39 PM) Ray is pretty highly regarded. I'm betting he, Dupree, and Gregory will be our best options as well as edge rushers at 6, but I think that's too high for any of them
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:43 PM) Personally love Cooper, I know WR isn't our biggest need but he may be the most NFL ready guy in the Draft. If we stick to the 6th pick and Fowler, Beasley, and Mariota are gone, Cooper is the guy to get. I'd even take him over Beasley
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) i don't mind cooper. decker isn't number 1 IMO and marshall is expensive and getting old
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) and we never draft a WR high
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) but o-line and QB are huge needs. i wouldn't take o-line 6th overall, but i think our 2nd or 3rd should be o-line
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:46 PM) we need an OLB as well. if we don't land a QB i'd like to see OLB adn O-line with 2 of our top 3 picks
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:16 PM) I agree on Deck, not a true #1 and he's had a checkered history with injuries. Marshall has 2, maybe 3 productive years left, which is why Cooper is an option
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:17 PM) And I agree with you on edge rusher & OL being bigger needs, but there really isn't a lineman I'd take at 6
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:19 PM) So the way I see it, assuming Winston and Mariota are taken when we're at 6, that Fowler and Cooper are our best choices, and I'd be stunned if Fowler drops. I wouldn't be surprised (or upset) if we land Cooper
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:47 PM) Apparently Tennessee wanted both of Cleveland's #1's and their 2nd rounder to move up to the #2 spot to get Mariota. Still think two 1st rounders are too much for Rivers? He makes us instant contenders and if we make a deep playoff run, it would really be this year's 1st and what equates to basically a 2nd rounder next year.
If not, get Cooper in the 1st and then grab Hundley in the 2nd and O-line in the 3rd.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:05 PM) I wouldn't be upset with Cooper, hes a stud
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:06 PM) Not sure about Ray. Dupree is rising on the draft boards, ridiculously athletic for his size
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:07 PM) Dupree is 6'4 270 and has a amazing get off and runs a 4.5
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:09 PM) Problem is he doesn't have big sack numbers in college, I rather draft a productive guy high
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:09 PM) Vic Beasley is insanely athletic as well and was hugely productive in college, good bet is that Beasley will be a 10+ sack guy in the NFL
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:12 PM) Beasley should be a stud but he gets caught up hand fighting if he doesn't beat his guy quickly. He'll likely end up as an OLB but we'll see
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:15 PM) He'd be a good fit in our defense, because we could use that speed guy on the outside
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:27 AM) I'd love Rivers, but we should be able to get him without paying 2 first rounders
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:29 AM) Lot of buzz about Dupree going top 10, most mocks I see have us getting either Ray or Dupree at 6. I prefer Dupree, like you said insane athlete for his size
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:30 AM) I like Beasley as well but I have a strong feeling Washington will snag him. But he is a small dude, it'd be nice if he'd add some bulk (in Clemson reportedly played around 230)
Chaos Icon : (23 April 2015 - 10:11 AM) @ArifHasanNFL

.@LanceZierlein says on http://sports790.com that Shane Ray will need surgery on foot, 5 months recovery. "Could drop out of first"
Chaos Icon : (23 April 2015 - 10:14 AM) this should change up the top 10
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 12:16 PM) Damn that's big. If he drops out of round 1 that could be a massive bargain for whoever gets him round 2. Dupree now looks more like the edge rusher we'd get at 6
MikeGangGree... Icon : (24 April 2015 - 09:40 PM) TEH RANGERS
santana Icon : (24 April 2015 - 11:32 PM) TEH WIZ
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:57 AM) Teh Suarez
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:58 AM) Vic Beasley is all speed. No moves, no power. Straight up the field. Could have some big games, then nothing in the next
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:59 AM) If we don't get Mariota, we should be looking at Schreff or trading down, IMO.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:59 AM) A lot of good edge rushers in this draft... I wouldn't want to take Dupree that high.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 07:00 AM) Until next time fellas!

NJ Gov. Chris Christie rips Jets writer over Rex Ryan press conference

For all the legitimately interesting preseason action that happened this weekend, the only thing anyone cares about is Rex Ryan's press conference meltdown from Saturday night. It was questions from the New York Daily News' Manish Mehta about playing Mark Sanchez late in a meaningless game that sent Rex over the top and now Mehta's feeling a little heat as well.

Specifically from, of all places, the freaking Governor of New Jersey. Yes, that's right. Noted Dallas football fan Chris Christie is not happy with the way Mehta conducted himself in the Ryan press conference and he let that be known while sitting in with WFAN's Boomer and Carton show Monday.

"Idiot. The guy's a complete idiot. Self-consumed, underpaid, reporter. The only reason he's empowered is we're spending all this time this morning talking about Manish Mehta who, by the way, I couldn't pick out of a lineup," Christie said. "And no Jet fan really gives a damn about Manish Mehta."

First off, I'm pretty sure a lot of Jets fans DO care what Manish has to say, since, you know, he covers the Jets for a living and generally has very good information on them. (Full disclosure: I really like Manish. He's a very nice guy. I don't know Chris Christie.) Secondly, Christie's probably cheesed off about "unnamed Jets" that always pop up in the media talking smack about other players. It's the nature of the business.

Third, whatever you might think about the way Mehta handled the press conference, just please remember this is the New York media market. Ryan and I talked about this on the Monday's podcast, but the reality is it's a cutthroat city to live in if you're covering football. You can't just kick back and hope the quotes come to you.

And finally, YOU'RE A COWBOYS FAN, CHRIS CHRISTIE. But by all means, please continue.

"That's my point. It shouldn't be about that. It should be about the Sanchez decision," Christie said. "We shouldn't be giving this DOPE the amount of airtime we've given him already."

So basically Christie doesn't care for Mehta, huh? I'll give the Governor one point: he does know a thing or two about standing in front of the press and being badgered by reporters.

“As somebody who stands in front of the press asking you questions, what's he supposed to say at that point?" Christie said. "He tried to defend the decision, and people keep yelling at him, so he had enough of the BS. He's like, ‘Enough, I've given you my answer.' There comes a point, Craig, sometimes, with you people in the media, where you just have to say, ‘Hey, that's my answer. You think it's stupid, you don't like it, then say that. But leave me alone.'”

That's a fair point. Here's my counterpoint: Rex doesn't deflect the questions well enough. Do you see people doing this to Tom Coughlin? Or Bill Belichick? Hell no. Those guys stonewall the media or get angry enough that people relax with the line of questioning.

Rex looked like he was teetering on the edge of going Full Jim Mora on us and ranting about something insane. He came pretty close with the whole backward dance thing.

And it's only the preseason, which means we should be seeing a lot of this moving forward. Unless Christie can pass some law that bans Manish from Rex's pressers.

It must take a special type of idiot sports writer to be ripped by the Governor of New Jersey.

Rex's press conference was uncomfortable viewing, but I'm with Chris Christie on this. Not often you find a Republic politician talking sense!!!!

I don't. In fact I follow Seth Walder on twitter and even though Seth seems to like Manish, Manish is just Seth's, and everyoine else's, Mynah Bird. When Manish does have an original thought he is usually wrong. I'm very close to unfollowing Seth because sometimes he retweets Manish's retweets. Manish was on Sirius NFL Radio the other day. They interview beat writers to get inside information or just things they havent heard or reported themselves. Manish had nothing original to offer.. He and the rest of the NY press core are a bunch sound byte grubbing tabloid whores. Thier one and only purpose is to represent the fans and ask the questions we can't. Not push the person at the potium over the edge. I'm reminded of the playoff game Joba Chamberlain pitched in when he was overcome by lake flies in Cleveland. Thats how Rex most likely felt.

I got to give it Christie. He's a Cowboys fan, but he attacks the Jets beat writer that many Jets fans can't stand....during an election year. He's a great politician, he really knows how to tap into the way his constituency is thinking. The Jets always came off to me as the more blue collar team between them and the Giants. And Christie probably knows that. He almost had me buying his act though...or maybe he's being honest and I'm just too cynical.

It's funny Christie called somebody else "self-consumed." Coming from the guy who scheduled the special election for the senate three weeks before the already scheduled November election. All because he didn't want to be on the same ballot as Cory Booker, who would've drawn more Democrats to the polls and hurt his (Christie's) chances of a landslide victory. This is all after he said he wouldn't waste tax payer's money doing that (having two elections close together).

Christie is going to be the next President. That "I don't give a damn" comment during Sandy is going to be the soundbyte that carries him to the White House. Since Mr Jet doesn't care about candidates, but just wants the Dems to win he's just sharpenning up on his hate.

Chris Christie is too thin skinned to be able to successfully withstand the scrutiny a two year presidential campaign. If he can't even handle a teacher in a town hall meeting without having a temper tantrum; there is no way he could handle the mud national Republicans or the Clinton machine would throw at him. No that "f*** you I'll shake hands with whomever I want" attitude towards the Obama haters in the Republican party isn't going to help him in Iowa and South Carolina in 2016. The only reason Christie won in 2009 was because Jon Corzine is a corrupt piece of shit that even I wouldn't have even voted for. And even then he only beat Corzine by less than 100,000 votes with almost 2.5 million total votes cast. But maybe you're right the guy who praised and thanked President Obama for his help is going to win over the "he was born in Kenya" crowd in the GOP primaries.

But it's cute that you think you know who the next president will be. In 2005 most people thought it was going to be Hillary Clinton versus Rudy 9iul1an1 in 2008. Right now I'm more concerned about the waterboy down in Florida than I am about Sherman Klump over in New Jersey.

So true. Unfortunately, there are too many scumbags and illegals allowed to vote so Christie will not win the White House. Too many people with their hands out and Killary will just go on giving it to them like the douchebag we currently have. Christie is too genuine and tells people like it is so he will unfortunately not win the presidency. If only he would, the country could actually begin a comeback but that won't happen for at least another 6 years. We're still stuck with bozo for another 2 and then the "entitlement" generation will only vote in another idiot that'll raise the national debt another 6 trillion in their first 4 yrs following O-dipshit's lead.

As for Manish........he's ALMOST as big of a joke as the Pretender-In-Chief.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

Yeah that's why he's called "no drama Obama." Show me an example of a tantrum he's thrown. Show me. I've never heard him tell somebody to shut up or call somebody an idiot. But I'd love to see some proof of all those tantrums he's thrown since he's the alleged king of them.

Quote

A tantrum or temper tantrum is an emotional outbreak, usually associated with children or those in emotional distress, that is typically characterized by stubbornness, crying, screaming, defiance, angry ranting, a resistance to attempts at pacification and, at some cases, hitting. Physical control may be lost, the person may be unable to remain still, and even if the "goal" of the person is met he or she may not be calmed.[1][2][3][4][5] A tantrum may be expressed in a tirade: a protracted, angry, or violent speech.[1][2]
