MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:28 PM) Guy has had 12 sacks in 2 years?? how the hell is that a 1st round pass rusher
ganggreen2003 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:29 PM) At least we didn't go QB again
ganggreen2003 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:30 PM) You mean GHOSTon
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:31 PM) Not f***ing happy
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:31 PM) I hope I'm wrong tho
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:31 PM) if I'm wrong I will eat m crow
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:39 PM) Some mocks had him top 10
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:42 PM) this guy is small
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:45 PM) Most mocks had Lee at 17 to the Falcons
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:45 PM) He's a day 1 starter for us. We've needed OLB forever
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:46 PM) Plus we generate a great rush from wilk rich and Williams
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:50 PM) I wanted Lawson bad
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:50 PM) f***ing bills
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:51 PM) Lee fills a need better
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:52 PM) I would have liked tunsil to slide to us though. After east picking great
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:52 PM) Would you take Lee over Lawson?
azjetfan Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:55 PM) I'm not inspire by that pick. Not even a little
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 10:01 PM) Wasn't an option. Lawson was gone
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 10:02 PM) Lawson is more of a de. We already have too many of those. We only have 1 proven LBer and he's 32 and we run a 3-4. Lee is a day 1 starter
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 10:03 PM) Broncos traded up for lynch
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 10:41 PM) Round 1 is done
2JBallar01 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 12:43 AM) He will play ILB for us.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 11:08 AM) http://nyjetsfan.com...showtopic=38865
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 11:19 AM) jets tried to trade up for tunsil but the price was too high
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 05:10 PM) Tunsil will end up out of the league
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 05:12 PM) Lee isn't a pass rusher, hes a fast athletic LB. Hes probably their future at ILB, someone who can cover in the middle
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 06:16 PM) jets said he's an ILB for us
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 06:17 PM) If we could grab jack he would be an OLB
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 06:17 PM) ttians have 3 picks in the next 13 picks
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 06:33 PM) jack to jax 36th overal
ganggreen2003 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 06:33 PM) Did you hear that the 1st round pick for the Browns RETIRED after getting drafted
SoReALSoJetS Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:29 PM) Hi guys long time no talk hope everyone is well
Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:46 PM) SMH
ganggreen2003 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:46 PM) JETS drafted QB Hackenberg PSU
Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:47 PM) Should have picked Connor Cook.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:56 PM) I guess we are giving up on petty
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 09:02 PM) Or giving up on geno
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 09:02 PM) I said the rumor was they liked him more then cook
Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 11:35 PM) I know I'm biased, but I've seen them both play. Cook is just better. Hackenberg had one good year. Cook has won more games, played in big games and won them....whatever, its done now so no sense on dwelling on it I guess. I just don't see the appeal in Hackenberg, nice kid, but I always thought he was really overrated. Oh well. I would have taken Kevin Hogan over Hackenberg.
azjetfan Icon : (30 April 2016 - 03:47 PM) From what I have read so far he had a great freshman year under Obrien in a pro style offense. At that point some considered him the next Andrew luck. Then Obrien left and they shifted to a spread under new HC who did poor job bringing in talent. He was also sacked and hit a million times. Might be shell shocked.
Smedsthejet Icon : (Yesterday, 06:17 AM) But Chan Gailey runs a spread system - still, I'm comfortable with the Hackenberg pick seeing as Gailey will develop the system to suit his strength... I'm just glad that we passed on Paxton Lynch in the first...we still desperately need Fitz to re-sign though
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 07:14 PM) From my understanding the spread in college and the spread in NFL are not the same principals. I really think it was more of a talent issue and getting sacked 80 times in 2 years that did him in. I have no idea if he will make it. I don't follow college ball enough to to know. Theses are just things I read in articles.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 10:24 AM) I'm stoked about getting peake in the 7th round. that was a steal. he was a projected 3rd rounder. wonder what scared teams away

The O line was kind of awful. Powell and Ivory had no lanes and Geno took 5 sacks. Lots of free running linemen came after him all day

Can't really speak on any of the game as I unfortunately missed it but will be watching it on DVR but was the run game really THAT bad? And if so, is it a sign of things to come or was Tampa's run D that good again? They were supposedly #1 against the run last season.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

When someone annoys u, it takes 42 muscles in ur face 2 frown. BUT, it only takes 4 muscles 2 extend ur arm & b!tch-slap that mother@*?!&! upside the head!!

Its still early, the OL has to block better. The Bucs got a lot of penetration and were blowing it up.

Demario Davis - the dude chased down Vincent Jackson to save a TD. Probably the most important tackle of the game for the jets.

good call on DD
his speed saved the game for us. Our old slow ass LBer group would have never made that play

Studs:

Defensive front seven - stout against the run, Davis made a crucial play and Richardson and Wilkerson were consistently around the ball
Winslow - if he can stay healthy and continue to play how he did yesterday he'll go down as one of the best FA pick-ups
Folk
Geno - bounced back from a difficult start and his decision making was generally smart (except for the interception and when he lost 18 yards on a sack)

I liked the aggressive defensive scheme too, and it was great to see Rex throwing in the overload blitzes often.
It was good to see Hill make a number of solid catches too, though none were big gainers.

Duds:
Running game - Powell did well catching the ball out of the backfield, but neither he nor Ivory could get going on running plays
Offensive line - the pass protection was inconsistent and, as noted above, the ground game didn't get going
Secondary - Landry's pick was something of a gift and his missed tackle on Jackson almost cost the game. Milliner struggled and Jackson had a big game against Cro.

Even though we only had a shot at winning the game thanks to Lavonte David's boneheaded play, it was great to win and I think there were a number of positives to take. The big question marks for the team - Geno and the receiving corps - performed well, while once the secondary is up to speed the defence could be nasty.

I can't blame the RBs for yesterday, they would get the ball and be met at the line pretty much. They need the OL to give them some holes to run through.

Also, Damon Harrison looks like he was a major find last year. This guy dominated the Giants in the preseason and looked dominant vs the Bucs yesterday. But it wasn't just Harrison, Ellis looked great too. Our DL is deep and very good. The Jets may be getting the rewards soon for drafting all of these guys. I can't wait for Coples to return. That was the most impressed I was with the Jets DL since we had Kris Jenkins.

I like how calvin Pace and David Harris showed something yesterday. Pace looks so much better than he did the past 2 years. Harris was reading out plays really well and blowing things up.

Antwan Barnes was a nice signing, this guy brings some speed off the edge for us. Something we have lacked.

If our defense can create that type of pressure vs Brady, we have a chance.

Why is Hill on stud lists?

I'm guessing because he didn't drop the ball. But yeah, he wasn't a stud. Though he had a chance for a long TD early in the game, he blew past his guy but Geno threw elsewhere.

thats true. while freeman looked stunned and frustrated, geno was calm and cool the whole time. Seems like the players really believed in him and he took the horse by the reigns

yeah the Bucs players were saying how impressed they were that Geno wasn't getting rattled. Gerald McCoy said he thought he was going to get rattled after getting hit early but he kept coming back and standing in there.

it was not so ugly of a win as in times past . I think many players in the NFL were not sharp because of the lack of actual practice time . but a w is a w.

he ran when he needed, but he also stood tall in the pocket to deliver a throw and take the hit. outside of running backwards on taht 1 play he looked good.
